iiwhisper hi..um well my name is aislinn from belfast which is counted as the uk but i personally think its a load of bullocks..so i prefer ireland thanks i go by ''tír gan teanga,tír gan anam'' -a country without a language,is a country without a soul That's one of the seanhocails (?) that I learned during my Irish course and stuck with me. I go by that as well. I'm rockyrogue, I'm up north in Canada, no Irish roots whatsoever but for some reason I have what seems to be a siren call to the Celtic culture. Since then I've taken a course in Welsh, Irish and the year coming up Scots Gaelic. Thus far, Irish is the one which stands out the most for me. Unfortunately, there's not many people to practice with therefore I'd like to continue on biggrin I'm also entering my final year in linguistics. I'm headed to Ireland next year and have full intention in visiting the Gaeltacht's.

Hi everyone (:
My names Brenda, but you can call me Bee. I live in North Carolina in the US. I've always been fascinated with Ireland since I was a little girl even though there's nothing in me that's Irish. I'm mostly German. This language is beautiful to me, even if it's a dying one. I've been wanting to learn Irish for sometime now, but didn't exactly know where to start... until I found this guild (: For a graduation present, my uncle said he'd take me anywhere in the world for a couple of weeks, so right now I'm thinking about either going to Ireland or Italy... but I'm leaning toward Ireland right now. Oh, and I'm learning German And I think that's about it for basic information... hahah

I'm KT, I'm 17, and I live in Minnesota, in the US. I want to learn Irish because my favorite band is from Ireland, and at least one of the members is fluent in Gaelic.
Also, fun fact, I'm also learning Czech ^^

I am from the US and I am part Irish. In general, I like learning languages and find different cultures fascinating. Uh I lived in Germany for a year and they thought I was German. I only taught myself for three months before I went over...so I wouldn't call myself fluent but apparently I could hold a conversation perfectly fine for a bit. For some reason I looked like whatever country I was in at the time. I learned Spanish in school. Currently I am most focused on Japanese but I know a little bit of other languages.

Names Georgia I am fully Irish yet lived a few years in the UK when I was a kid so devoloped a lil UK accent. Pain in the a** to say the least but what you going to do aye. Anyway I like in Corcaigh which is the rebel county of Ireland. I grew up here yet not one person I know talks Gaelic except a few words. Even in school we never really got to learn it as a language because all they did was go over the Junior/Leaving Cert papers and familirise us with them but not actually teach us how to talk it.
So yeah having a lil vent at the system but what you going to do.
Anyway late here...well early (4am) so good night lol

I'm Niamh, Which most non-irish speaking people have issues pronouncing. It's like Neeve. I'm from Dublin and I'm currently starting my leaving cert course so practice in speaking irish is much needed. However I'm also willing to help others to learn irish as much as I can biggrin

I'm Brenna (airgead mac tire) I live in the US but some day want to live in Ireland. SUCH a beautiful place. I'm Irish on both sides of my family, Cork and Mayo. Tradition in my family started by my great aunt to teach everyone to say pog ma thoin lol so that's what got me started in gaelic. I'm studying to be a photographer. My favorite animal is a wolf. =)
