Lack of experience isn't a problem. Just so long as you're willing to learn is enough. Just how much do you know of 3.5?

Just basics, never got past level five.. Due to the massive restarts. ):
Its been so long, somethings are vague and others are barely hanging on... (x
I'm willing to learn just feel so embarrassed is all.
I remember mostly how to make a character, and a little bit with fighting. We started over a lot so I made a lot of characters, which we had no choice.
lol We didn't get to fight much, and even if we did I was always a cleric, I loved it, but she didn't fight much. (x

Most campaigns don't last long enough for all the characters to reach level 20, so no worries about not experiencing character growth beyond level 5. It's good that you've got the basics down, and it's also nice that you more or less remember how to go through the character creation process. Nothing to feel embarrassed about at all. 3nodding

I've taken quite a few people with no knowledge about D&D at all and introduced them to the game. Reminders won't be a problem if needed, provided it's not the same issue being covered in a short space of time. (Which one's the d20 again? ;p ))

That feeling of embarrassment is gone. (x That D20 joke was the cure.
Taking on people with no prior knowledge must have been tough on you.

It can be. One of my friends that I introduced to gaming had a heck of a time remembering which dice were required for what and whether a high number or low number was good, but this was back in 2nd Edition. At any rate, the key to teaching the newbies was to help them make a character and point out what they should read in the PHB rather than just do things for them.
