Iri slams the tram door behind her and slams her fist on a button. She sees Syn from a distance. Even from here, she can see that the girl's upset. But then the tram gets moving, and she leaves her behind. Iri steps back until she slides into a seat. The woman's breathing hard, but not from the short run. She hopes things get better at the other dojo.

Iri smiles as they approach the Kaze Dojo. This place is now home in her mind, and it makes her happy to see it. Though, on the inside, earlier events come to mind. She has Tut's tag, so she should be okay. And she has the few pointers he managed to give her in defense against Genjutsu. The avian should be just fine.
Violet eyes look down at Syn. "We're about to land! Ready?"

Syn holds on tight to the vines and looks up at Iri before looking down at the bit of land in front of the biggest windmill. She speaks in a muffled voice, giggling between words a bit.
"TSSCH - Ground control, this is Major Windy-bird, requesting permission to land, over. - TSSCH"

Iri can't help it. She cracks up at the joke. It's just too perfect!
"Tssch, permission granted!" Iri says, playing along. Then she snickers and says, "Now I just need aviator's goggles, eh? Hehehe!"
The avian smoothly angles toward the dojo door. With a little more air manipulation, the strong winds that would normally wreak havoc with Iri and her passenger split and allow her safe passage. The ground slowly gets closer until the woman is left running up to the door. Syn's swing is held high to avoid any dragging or damage.
When it's safe, Iri lowers the swing until Syn can crawl out.
"Think we can ditch the train, now?"

Syn swings out, slipping through the vines and sticking her landing perfectly. She turns back to Iri with her arms outstretched and grins.
"Mmm~ I dunno. Flying is fun, but so it the train."

Iri gives a wing shrug. "Whatever floats your boat, sweets. I, however, only seem to get motion sickness if I ride conventional vehicles. You're welcome to take the train, though. I'll even fly at the same pace as it to make sure you're in good hands."
The woman walks into the dojo, leaving the door open for Syn. She walks straight to her naginata. A slender hand picks the weapon up while the other deposits the swing in its place. Iri looks at the weapon for a moment, reassuring herself that it's in her hands. She almost hugs it, but that would be silly. She's just glad to have it again. Being without it just doesn't feel right.

She walked into the dojo, looking around for a moment before noticing Iri grabbing her naginata with a certain look. Syn approached her slowly, looking at the weapon with great interest.
"...It's saved your life before, hasn't it?"

A smile spreads across Iri's serene features. "More than just that. It's the one thing my great grandmother managed to pass down to me. And I had a hell of a time earning the right to wield it. There's no telling how much older than me this thing is, and it's been through a lot, but it's still strong."
Iri gives her head a shake, as though trying to clear her thoughts, and looks back down at Syn. "But that's all in the past. Now, how about we explore the basement a bit more? The only room we really got a chance to use was the kitchen."
Bringing the naginata into its resting position, the blade pointed down with the majority of the shaft resting against her wrist and up the length of her arm, Iri moves toward the spiral staircase. She slowly descends, giving Syn time to catch up.
Once in the basement, Iri begins to snoop again. There's one room in particular that she's searching for. It managed to catch her attention on the first day.
"So," Iri begins. "Do you have anything that's special to you?"

Syn catches up to Iri and follows her around interested in what she was looking for, though she stayed quiet. She stopped suddenly as Iri asked the question, but picked up again quickly.
"I'm not sure... My sister is important.. We have to protect each other... And a sword of my Father's. He never came back, but they sent his armor to us..."

Iri slips into a room that looks to be an office. "This is the one," she mutters.
Without looking back, Iri says, "I'm guessing your father died in some sort of war? I'm sorry to hear that. You know, that's part of why I'm here. I want to get stronger so other people don't have to fight in wars."
The room is lined with shelves, though they're empty. In the middle of the room is a plain desk with drawers at the back. Iri walks behind the desk and starts to pull out drawers and inspect the contents.
"Family is definitely important. Unfortunately, I have to protect mine by staying away from them. And you should cherish your father's gear. A fallen soldier's sword and armor are very special. You may even use them yourself someday."
Iri pulls out a piece of paper and reads it to herself. One red eyebrow pops up upon seeing her name. It's a sort of roster involving the new staff and students of the GNA. Her name is under the title "Kaze Sensei".
"Huh," she mutters again. "Must have missed some meeting or something. Typical."

Oh, Jii Sama has taken good care of it, and my sister. She's not as good with things as I am, she's too shy. But I don't think I'll ever be big enough to wear his armor.
Syn walks into the office and looks in the drawers as well, looking to the sheet of paper Iri pulled out.
"Kaze...Sensei... You're the teacher? You seem like a good teacher.

Both wings shrug. "I guess I'm the teacher. Makes sense, now that I think about it. If there were anyone else, you'd think I would have seen them by now. I'm still trying to figure out when that memo came out, though."
Iri replaces the paper and keeps looking. All she finds aside from that are typical office supplies. Pens, pencils, loose leaf paper, notebooks, staples and a stapler, etc. Nothing else of interest comes to her attention at the moment.
All of the drawers get put back just the way they were. Sighing, Iri looks around the room. She squints her eyes, her mind going elsewhere. Then she looks at Syn.
"Too bare. I'll have to remedy that."
Iri walks back out of the office, committing its location to memory. Now she's walking past a line of dorm rooms.
"So, you haven't said much about your family. What's your sister's name, eh? And how did you end up living with Jii-sama?"

Luna. And I've stayed with Jii-Sama for a little while, but he hasn't let me come out much until lately. Said that it was too dangerous. Dunno what changed his mind. I pretty much just ended up in his hands, I guess. My sister and I were passed around a bit, most of the people weren't friendly at all, but Jii-Sama is nice, and treats us well, even though he had to run and live in a cave.

Iri had found a room that was apparently to her liking. What was different? There was a slightly different way in which the air circulated in here. It was just right for her. Odds are no one else would notice the difference, but it mattered to her. She sits on the bed and bounces a little. The mattress is new and a little firm, but not too bad.
Iri pats the spot next to her, inviting Syn to sit down.
"What do you mean by that? Run and live in a cave? He sounds like a good person, so I can't imagine him being chased out of his village or anything. I figured he was just a hermit that preferred the quiet of living in the woods."

Syn crawls into the bed, apparently getting a little tired. She buried her face in the mattress and stayed there for a moment before turning her head to the side and speaking again.
"I'm not sure why he left. He does like the quiet. Where he was before wasn't quiet enough, so we had to leave, even though it was quiet enough where we stayed."
She sighed and turned her head away, stretching her arms and legs out.
"Now that I think of it, it sounded like there was a big fight before he took us away, though I've never seen him fight."
