User ImageZii watched Luke sort of splutter and fall silent before muttering to himself and claiming that he "just needed to speak with her". Right, that wasn't creepy at all. He probably just wanted her opinion on the interior decor in the back of his windowless van.

Thankfully, the barista hesitantly called out Zii's order and she practically ran over to fetch it.

"Well," Zii said to the stranger as she began moving toward the door, "I'm sorry but my parents told me never to talk to strangers and I'm really very busy. I'll just be going now..."

'No!' Wrath shouted, 'Do not let her leave.'

Luke was not sure what he could do to stop her, or why Wrath was so interested, but he could not fail. What could he do? Improvise. He needed to find a way to get her alone, but she already thought he was some creep, how could he convince her? Better to be seen as insane than a creeper, right?

Luke stood up and walked after her, "Look." He said, putting his gloved right hand on her shoulder, "He knows what you are, and it's really important that you get a chance to talk with him. I'm just here to speak to you for him." He said, without taking a second to think about it.

Anthony left the Office to see what all the commotion was about. "Careful of those two," A voice said from behind him. He didn't acknowledge it. He was weary however, that the man was making a scene over the girl who looked vaguely familiar...

"The Bar!," He hissed aloud in exclamation. Of course! She was the shotgun toting bar tender that had threatened to take his head off the other night at the bar. Why did he suddenly feel at unease around her? Aside from the fact that she had shoved a gun in his face he felt like something else was going on with her. So did the man apparently as they both made way to leave. "Beth I'm taking a break," He said absent mindedly, his eyes never leaving the girl, "I'll be back in about an hour and a half."

User ImageZii jerked away as soon as Luke touched her, her nervousness morphing into hostility. She didn't know who "he" was and she didn't really care; it just sounded like the ramblings of a possibly homeless, crazy man. But Zii knew that she was safer in the coffee shop with witnesses who had observed the situation from the beginning than out on the street with a crazy man chasing her. She hoped that she could diffuse things now, maybe play along until the man went away or at least until someone decided it was time to call the police.

"Enlighten me," Zii said, trying to appear calm in the hopes that letting this man say what he needed to say would satiate him, "what am I and who is 'he'? And don't touch me."

Luke took back his hand as the girl jerked away. He needed to make a good impression on her to make sure she would cooperate...

So far, that wasn't going well.

"My apologies." Luke said, in a much more subdued tone, "I did not mean to overstep my boundaries there, I just feel this is important."

He then paused for a second to consider how to best answer her questions.

"Well," Luke said, finally, "I am not sure what you are, but he knows, and he told me that you were important." Luke then paused, "And 'he'? He is my master..."

Luke then stopped and looked over his shoulder at what, to him, was a dark mass. To everyone else, he was looking over his shoulder toward the counter, it may look like Luke was looking over at the youth who before manned the counter.

Luke got a nod from the mass, or some sort of instruction, "His name is Wrath." Luke said, hoping that would evoke some kind of memory or image in her head, but this may just be digging him further into a hole, "He knows more than I do, and he says you are important."

User ImageZii was beginning to see Luke as less of a threat and more of an amusement. The guy was obviously crazy, but Zii couldn't help but wonder why he'd picked her out of everyone else in the coffee shop. She almost laughed when he told her about his "master".

"Right," she said, "your 'master' is one of the seven deadly sins. And...apparently also the coffee shop guy? So...is this a new cult or something? Cause if you're looking for a virgin sacrifice I'm sorry to tell you you're barking up the wrong tree."

Despite her beginning to understand that Luke wasn't a threat to her, Zii still felt uneasy being near him. It was a strange uneasiness...she was afraid not that he would harm her, but that he had the capacity to stir up something in herself...something she knew was there, but she was not quite ready to face.

Anthony didn't leave right away but instead decided to use his ability to turn invisible to get closer to the female and the odd man and hear what their conversation was about. Moving very slowly and super quiet he got close enough to hear what they were saying. He relaxed a little and started the rhythmic breathing process he used to keep focused and invisible. Now it was simply a matter of waiting to see what they had to say and if any of it was relevant. Mostly he was hoping that the bartender had more information regarding the slaughter that had happened down at the docks.

Luke sighed, trying to regain his composure as he talked with this woman, he had to make her understand that he wasn't crazy, but how could he do that if he didn't believe it entirely himself?

"Its nothing like that." Luke said, hoping that wasn't Wrath's intention for this lady. "Look, Wrath is...hard to explain. All I know is that he has never had a specific interest in anyone before, that means you are something significant, something...something special."

Luke took a second to think of how he could make her understand without digging himself deeper, or scaring her off, "If you're just willing to meet with him, he can explain it much further. All I'm asking for is a chance to make sense of this whole situation, if he refuses to meet with you, or you don't like what he says, you can leave." Luke hoped this at least would help her to go along with it, though he had no idea if it would.

Deciding he couldn't stay here much longer Anthony swore silently as he wanted to know what this odd man had to say and show the bartender. It wasn't important right now. What was important was getting in touch with Sentinel. Sneaking out the door, still invisible, he went to the alley way and then took off at a jog towards the fire escape of a building. He launched himself at it and caught it, his shoulder, which had only just the other day been shot, sent fire down his arm and he let go of the fire escape.

Hitting his head rather hard he lay dazed in the grime of the street for a minute or two before shaking it off and standing up again. He moved a trash can under the ladder and gingerly hoisted himself up and started climbing the ladder. Once on the roof he put the blue tooth piece in his ear and pushed the button on the side that would activate it. He heard a click and then a dial tone in his ear, "Come on Sentinel, pick up."

User Image"I'm guessing you won't leave me alone until I meet with your imaginary friend?" Zii said, sipping tentatively at her coffee. "Look, dude, you're a real creative hobo and I give you props for that, but I don't have any spare change and walking into dark alleys to talk to...devils or poltergeists or whatever 'Wrath' is isn't really on my 'ways to not be murdered in an alley' list. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't mace you right now, and I just might consider humoring you."

Zii was beginning to see Luke as more nervous and desperate than threatening. He was still pretty freaking crazy, but there was a sort of desperation in his tone that made her almost feel sorry for him. And, she had to admit, she was sort of curious to see what his imaginary friend would have to say...just so long as finding out didn't put her in harm's way. Though, now that she thought about it, she did have a gun in her bag, and Luke had no way of knowing that it wasn't loaded...

Luke took a second to regain his composure, her choice of words gave him hope that he could salvage this conversations. He definitely couldn't make this girl not think he was crazy, but he could find some way to get this back on track and get her to meet with him.

"First, if you don't, you'll spend all your time wondering what could have been, what if I was telling the truth?" Luke said, trying to plant the seeds of doubt in her head before providing any real reasoning.

"But seriously," Luke said, rebounding, "if you look at myself, then at you, it should be obvious. If I so desired to attack you, I would have done it, I wouldn't be wasting time standing here talking about some 'imaginary' being." He said, hoping his logic was just messed up enough that she couldn't trace it.

User ImageZii sighed. Luke was a persistent hobo.

"Alright," she said, "I'll go talk to your little cult leader. But if for one second I feel threatened or like you're about to ask me for money, I'm leaving. And you won't follow me or try to stop me. Got it?"

Zii pierced Luke with her blood red eyes, trying to show him that she was serious, that she was more of a threat to him than she looked.

Luke smiled as he heard the woman respond, "Of course, of course." Luke said, "I would never want to force you into something against your own will." He said, partially as an ironic joke due to the situation.

Something about the look in her eyes, the one that was a clear establishment of a threat, that was it, the presence he felt was making itself known. This presence, it was exactly what Wrath wanted.

"There is a place, down by the wharf, that is where we shall meet. An old warehouse where you and Wrath can converse freely. I can take you whenever you are prepared." Luke said, oddly casually, taking a sip of his now-cooler coffee.

The phone had rung a few times before someone answered it. It was obvious that 'Sentinel' was either sleeping or doing something else with his time. In fact, he was at work and had to slip away to a storage closet, but that was besides the point. It seemed that his other extra-curricular work was going to change to his top priority for the moment. As the BlueTooth device was beeping in his hand, 'Sentinel' had to think of a completely cool thing to say as a greeting.

"Sentinel," was all that his gruff voice could manage. Not exactly badass, but it would do for now. It's not like he had some sort of bat-signal that the Commissioner could just flare up for him in the night sky.

Now that Anthony had actually made contact he wasn't really sure what he was going to say. "Sentinel it's Ghoul. I think we need to meet up. There's a lot of commotion at the park, I don't normally do the day shift but I overheard some interesting news from some citizens." He benched the thoughts he had on the woman from the bar for now, he'd discuss that later but for now he had a feeling that they'd be needed in a big way.
