"Isn't it proper manners for the guy to pay?" Anna said smiling and pushing his shoulder. "Or at least go half. Besides, I'm just an average assistant, remember? Merlin may be powerful but that doesn't mean he's not cheap."
Soon they reached the restaurant. It was all lit up, like a christmas tree and inside you could hear talking and laughter. "Don't order any alcohol," Anna whispered in Hotaru's ear.

He just looked at her. "And why not?" He was smirking. "Guess I'll pay for everything.....wait....!!" As he was reaching for the door handle, he paused, sighed, then opened the door. "Ladies first." He smiled lightly. ".....I wonder.....no....no way anyone would want to bring me on a date...."

"You don't need your senses ruined." Anna said. "Thank you," she muttered as she walked in. She scanned the room, looking to wall from wall for a table. "Crowed again," she whispered. She finally found a table on the other side of the room in the corner. Anna started to make her way over, bumping into numerous amounts of people, all of them too cheery to notice. As she made her way closer she looked at the table. It was ready for costumers with cleanliness and menus ready in waiting.

Hotaru followed silently, avoiding the people that occasionally tried to bump into him. "So many people....." He muttered to himself, as he pulled out a chair for Anna. "Looks like a really nice place..." He was looking around. "And since when do I fit in, in a place like this.....ha....Leon would probably make fun of me if he knew..." "So, how often do you usually come here?"

"All the time, or at least I use too. Still has crowded as ever," she said and added in her mind, 'That's good'. "I'll sneak in for lunch every once in awhile, when Merlins busy. I try to only cook when needed." Anna looked around, scanning the faces in the room. "So when did you learn who to cast spells?" she asked still looking around the room.

He sat down, and picked up the menu. Looking it over as he answered. "I don't really remember. I just know I could always cast the fire spell, and I just kept training until I could use firaga." He shrugged. "Hmm....that sounds pretty good....so does that....hmm....which one....which one...." "Its why I always skipped training with Leon, I figured people see you with a weapon, they know you might be able to use, but know can see magic till you're casting. I like to keep a few surprises in case it's needed. That's pretty much how my style came about too. Might and Magic, makes a great combo." He smirked, and looked at her over the menu.

Anna left her menu untouched. "Might and magic," she whispered to herself. "Do you only know fire spells?" she asked. "And does Leon even know magic?" The waitress started making her way to there table. She was plump and pleasant and had a friendly face which she used on the costumers in hopes for tips. She stopped by their table and sweetly asked if they knew what they want.

Hotaru glanced at the waitress, and smiled. "Yes, I'll have this," He pointed to the item on the menu, "And cup of tea please." He then turned to Anna, and nodded "Yeah, just fire is all I know, and I don't think so. He never mentioned knowing any spells."

"The chicken," she told the waitress, "and water." She watched her walk away and then turned to Hotaru. "Well, maybe you should have some lesson's with Merlin, he's a bit frazzled, but if he's so powerful then he must have a few tricks up his sleeve."

He nodded. "I'm sure he does, but I'm not sure I want to learn anything from either of the old timers anymore." He smiled. "They just don't really understand how I learn. Always gets me scolded, or hit."

Anna smiled "Merlin's ancient, if he tried to hit you he'd break his hand. And he doesn't scold, he just gets weird. Well, weirder, but still. I'll admit you're good, but you still need some help."

He just nodded. "I just don't get to many people willing to help me." He shrugged. "And the ones that do.....well they're just really weird. Like Yuffie, or Leon." He laughed lightly. "Or my mystery woman......" "But I suppose you're right. Wouldn't hurt to get a couple of more spells under my belt.

"They may be weird, but at least they try to help, that must mean they care, right?" She asked looking very serious at him. The waitress came with their food and a huge smile. Anna didn't take any notice in her.

Hotaru thanked the waitress, and took a sip of his tea. "Yeah, I suppose it does." He placed his cup down, and took a bite of his food. "You were right, this place is pretty good." He looked at her. "Though I don't think you really care, so why don't we talk about you for a bit." He smirked then, "I mean if we keep talking about me I'll get an even bigger head, and we wouldn't want that, right?"

Anna didn't smile, she just looked gravely at her food. "I cook, I clean, I organize the books in non-alphabetical order, nothing to report. What could you possibly want to know?"
