"Your home?" Julian voice was soft took in the strangers words, but still he kept his mind as well as his sisters shielded. He felt Crissy excitement though, and her flare of hope at finally learning something about where they really came from. Though every instinct he had told him this man was dangerous, he knew for Christiana sake, he would stay...and ask. "Perhaps you can help us then. We are seeking another vampire. He goes by the name of Drevan...is there a chance you've heard of him." he asked quietly, careful to keep his voice and expression void.

Lucid studied this male intently for a moment, sizing him up. He figured that if it were just the boy, he was safe enough. But there was the problem of the female half hiding behind the male. The two of them together might pose a bit of a problem, though Lucid was fairly sure that his experience would give him an advantage. Still, it was better to be safe then sorry. "I know of him, yes." he said carefully. "Why do you seek him?"

"We only wish to speak with him." Christiana ignored her twins restraining hand and muffled oath. Moving out from behind her brother, she raised her own pale blue eyes to meet the other vampires gaze. "He knew our mother." she said softly, keeping her ground, despite her brothers protest.

Muttering a curse in ancient vampirian Julian once again moved to place his sister behind him, not trusting the stranger to hold his own ground. When Crissy moved to his side once more, he held his ground, knowing that his twin would persist in standing beside him. Christiana had never been one to stand behind anyone for long.

Things began to slide into place when Lucid took in the girl's words. He remembered the vampiress, though that had been many years ago. Could these young vampires be his offspring? The sheer weight of that thought made his mind stagger. He suddenly had the strong urge to call Seth back to him so that he wouldn't have to face this alone, but knew that he couldn't. This was something he would just have to face on his own. No one could help him through it. He let out the breath he hadn't realized he was holding, and moved a step closer to them. "I am Lucid Drevan." he said quietly. "I am the Master Vampire that you seek."

Allowing a slow smile to curve her lips, Crissy sighed and watched him for a long moment. Moving quickly to avoid her brothers attempt to stop her she stepped forward and reached for the letter she had hidden in her back pocket. The vampire was telling the truth, she knew that. plus he had known the first name of the man they sought, something Julian hadn't told him. "We're sorry to bother you, but you had correspondence with our mother...and we were hoping you could tell us about it and how you knew her." she finished quietly, strands of her long, black hair blowing into her face with the breeze. She felt her twins utter stillness, the need to pull her back that seemed ingrained in him, and the way his muscles tensed. Ready to spring into action the moment the ancient one made a wrong move toward her. Reaching fro her brothers mind, she merged deeply for a moment, calming him. She wasn't frightened...if anything she thought perhaps the man before her was...of what she wasn't sure.

Lucid stared into the girl's blue eyes, eyes that matched his own, and knew that he was right. These were his children. The very same children he had left with the woman he'd loved so long ago. Their mother had found love in someone else, but not before having twins. She had told him shortly after she herself had found out, and he had nursed her all the way through the hard pregnancy and even harder birth. He'd known all along that her heart had been with another man, but he had stuck with her for his children, wanting to see them into the world. And he had, but then she'd gone, and left him, and took the babies with her. She'd said it was for the best, and he had agreed with her, even tried to keep in touch with her. Now, studying the letter in his daughter's hand, those memories were brought into sharp relief. Now, not only did he have an adopted son, but also a biological one and a daughter, too. Lifting his gaze to meet hers again, he gave himself a mental shake. "You both are so big now.." he said softly. "Perhaps we should go to the Haven and talk about this. I need another drink."

Stepping up behind his sister, Julian wrapped a protective arm around her waist and met the mans gaze with his own. Feeling his twin sheer relief and exhaustion was the deciding factor in his mind. Julian knew he could deny his baby sister nothing...he never could, she asked for so little. Looking down at Christiana he saw that she was looking up at him with pleading eyes. Giving into her, he met the vampires gaze with his own once more. "We'll follow you." he said softly, holding his sister to him. He still didn't trust the man and intended to keep a very watchful eye on Crissy.

A soft breeze moves through the tall golden grass of the plains as a female slowly walks across the flat, hard ground. Her steps silent in the dark night as the only light around the area is the light that the waning half moon provides throughout the night. As she moves within the moons light, her steps are silent against the ground. The swing of her hips in each step allows her slightly longer than knee length hair to carefully brush against the slight tips of the grass, the icy blue streaks through out her hair glimmering slightly under the soft moon light. After some several feet she stops walking and carefully looks around her surroundings before taking in a long breath and listening closely. Waves....I can hear the soft crash of waves..There must be more shore line somewhere nearby..Only another mile or so until I will reach them. She thinks to herself as a soft, light smile curves her lips as she continues to walk in the direction she could hear the waves from.

The wind picked up slightly, moving the scent of the ocean into my uplifted face. Somewhere in the huge expanse of water was a boat full of humans. I knew this because along with the scent of salt and water, came the almost nauseating smell of sweaty human males. Among them was a lighter, more delicate scent, probably female. Shifting my footing, I swayed slightly, turning in a half circle to face away from the wind. Around my form, the tall grasses of the Delmorian Plains moved franticly in this wind, as if each blade were trying to find some release from the soil beneath. My gaze moved swiftly over the body of writhing grasses, taking in the area. It was only then that I felt the sharp stab of power pulse through my left hand. My hand that had been resting upon the hilt of the Hiratoshi. Glancing down, I raised a brow at this new development. Thus far, throughout my quest to be free of the blade, it had never inflicted physical pain upon me. But now, the hand resting upon the hilt of this cursed sword, burned as though I had placed my hand into a very hot flame. Lifting my hand from the hilt, I studied it, moving each finger. The reflex was slower than usual, but this was not very unusual for a vampire who had not fed properly in many moons. Lowering the hand again, I studied the sword. It looked no different than usual, the hilt wrapped tightly in leather and embellished with gold trim. Any human would have taken this sword in greed, due to how expensive and appealing the weapon looked. Many had died simply trying to do so. Hiratoshi was quite content to keep me as it's host forever. That was, of course, until someone stronger and faster came along. I hoped to be rid of the curse by then. Hoped, anyway. The wind shifted slightly, drawing my attention away now. I could could have sworn I had heard someone moving through the grasses, but never got the chance to look. The sword burst to life then, taking advantage of my distraction to take control of my body and mind.
****
The male dropped to the ground for a moment, seeming to be in some sort of internal struggle. This only lasted for a brief moment, however, as the will of the Sword was far superior to any man. Hiratoshi took him over quickly, suppressing the man's very conscious to the depths of his own mind like a prisoner. After this task was over, Hiratoshi turned his attention to the other being that seemed to have joined them in the Plains. This being was female, he noted after a moment's study. This mattered little to him as he moved the body of his host into a standing position. With any luck, this would be over with in a short time. He had just enough energy built up to take care of one simple woman. Having been drawn from his sheath, the Man began to move swiftly through the tall grass of the Plains, the weapon poised to strike the female down quickly.

The female pauses her movement for a moment as her body grows stiff and she feels a couple waves of energy pass through her being, leaving the hair on the back of her neck standing on end, the feeling of something very powerful awakening. There is some thing nearby, something powerful and it is getting closer. I can hear the sound of an approaching heartbeat, it has to be a being of some sort. Having absolutely no idea as to whom it may be or what the reasons for a being to be out in the plains heading at a fairly fast pace in the direction of her location. Slowly reaching her right hand down to her right hip and slowly slips each of her fingers around the hilt of the sword resting along the line of her waist, gripping it tightly as she waits. Taking the sword out half way from it's sheath, preparing for anything that may come, just in case she may not need it. I must be on my guard, I have no clue what I may be up against, if anything at all. She thinks quickly as she falls into a defensive stance. Focusing her thoughts upon the few spells she knows she can still perform one a moments notice, though she had fed recently, she was still not quite fast with her spells as she should be. The wind quickly bursts against the female's face, her hair whipping about she watches the grass ahead of her, watching for the direction the approaching being may come from. My shadows are still powerful, but I don't know what kind of enemy I am up against. I don't want to cast the first strike. She thinks carefully, waiting for the beings arrival to her, the muscles of her arms and legs tensing in anticipation.

The man closed the distance between himself and his prey rather quickly, moving with the preternatural speed that only vampires possessed. In the blink of an eye, the possessed vampire was nearly on top of the woman, having turned so he was nearly directly in front of her. Hiratoshi lifted into the air, poised to arch downward. It's intention was very clear. He meant to slay this female where she stood. There would be no remorse for this, no pity at all. No emotion really, except for perhaps hate. The blade swung downward, the lethal edge aimed for the woman's left shoulder, it's intent to cut downward to her left hip.

The female quickly sees that it is a man after her, reacting quickly she unsheathes her sword fully, bringing it around to the point it's dangerous blade towards the incoming blade. Poised to block the incoming blade of the male before her, her knees bending to a further angle as she prepares for the force that she is sure to be high to make impact. Glancing up to the face of the male before her, all she can see within his features is the immense hatred leaking from his very presence.

The sword reacted to the movement of the woman easily. The vampire's left hand lowered from the sword as the two blade connected. This, had only been the distraction. His left hand moved, spilling outward for the right side of the woman's chest, sharp nails poised to be like a spear. This pierced the chest, impaling her in a not so harmful place, near the shoulder. He raked, not downward with the momentum of his body, but upward, toward the soft throat of his victim. One slow inch at a time toward the pulse that beat faintly, so faintly against the skin like a trapped thing. It occurred to the Vampire then, that this one was also a vampire, but the thought was as quickly cast aside. It mattered little. She was going to die, Hiratoshi wished it to be so. Warmth slid over his fingertips, the scent of blood hit him like a wall, washing over him like water. Within the confines of his mouth, his fangs lengthened, ready, waiting for the promise of blood. The sword faltered in his right hand. It was losing the tight control it had on it's host, and quickly. The thread of control wavered, then began to unravel faster than Hiratoshi could wind it back. Waves of hunger pushed at the tight bond between host and sword, the instinct to feed overriding the need to kill. With this, the thread broke. But not before Hiratoshi got in one final command. Feed. The vampire pushed forward, closing the space between them with this push. He was older, stronger and had the advantage of momentum. It took but two seconds to reach that pale skin, and the fangs sank in.
