Ghar politley declined the back of the leopard.
He had things to do on this side.

"You two get over there, I have to go and take a leak."

She stared blankly at Ghar. She hadn't hit him and he wasn't showing any signs of bleeding. So wear was he leaking.....oh. Crudeness was new to her, as while as openess in a sense. Politics on Ordaria lead to a certain ambiguity to every word. She then remembered that the freaky ghosty leopard was waiting for her to hop on. Riding a leopard that can vanish at the whim of it's master, say...over the river? Not gonna happen. "I prefer to cross the river of something more.....solid." She said politely.

"My rope offer is still open," Regla shouted casually, watching the coin fly into the air, flipping lazily, and returning to her open palm.

"That is a better offer. Where is it?"

"Fine." Said Windy, and her leopard bounded over to the other side, and she got off. The leopard then disappeared. "I didn't want you riding him anyway."

Regla smirked as she stood, but tried to hide it from Windy. She could at least pretend to be civilized, she decided. reaching into one of her pockets, she pulled out a thick rope with a hook tied to one end. She swung it around her head once, twice, thrice.

"Stand back!" she shouted and hurled the length at the opposite shore, the thin hook cutting through the air with ease. It reached to the other side and grabbed a tree branch. Acting quickly, Regla pulled the rope taut and tied her end to the tree she had been leaning against.

"Okay, whenever you feel like it!" Regla yelled back across, and took several steps away from the rope, hoping to show she had no intentions to tamper.

Sensible enough. Tying the rifle to her back in a way that wouldn't hinder her movement, she began to move hand over hand. The progress was slow but she had done worse at ARC training. Double the weight and no water below to catch her. Come to think of it, nothing below to catch her. As she reached the end, she leaped the 3 feet and landed neatly enough. Unslinging the rifle and equipment, she waited for the others.

"You coming, guy?" Regla cupped her hands to her mouth to be sure Ghar could hear her, "Or should I just take my rope back now?"

While waiting for the others, she looked up and down the river. No banks, no shallows, no areas where the currents flow slower. It was the perfect river to keep people in and out. It moved too fast and was too wide for someone to swim it, and was far too deep for fording. As she took this in, she got a weird tingling feeling, like something bad or evil was coming or had happend here. 'Always trust you instincts.' she thought as she checked her rifle and sidearm.

And then there were only three.
Ghar was gone.

He turned around and walked away, off into the woods and away from the party, with no real intention to return.

Regla squinted out into the darkness. She thought she could make out movement.
"Hello?" She shouted back, but there was no answer. She decided she would just give up. "Let's go," she sighed to the others, winding the rope back into her pocket, "he obviously doesn't care if he dies."

"Wait." Windy said, and took a tiny sip from her bottle. The leopard re-appeared, and went immediatly streaking into the woods. The leopard then returned. "Yes, he's gone. Let's go."

Ghar trekked through the woods, back to the city.
His "friend" was still there.

((He broke away from the group. That was a transition post.))

"I don't need anyone to tell me what I can see," Regla sighed and continued to walk away,"Anyway, you all will want to prepare. The edge of the forest is up ahead, and we'll be safe there, but then it just gets wor-"

She fell silent, drawing both her daggers and becoming completely still. Her eyes darted left and right, and then to the ground. Footprints, and fresh. She should have known hoping to get through the forest safely was simply too much. She glanced toward her companions and motioned towards her lips. 'Don't make any sounds,' she mouthed.
