DekenFrost Every time a 1 is used for an exclamation mark is absolutely terrible. That sentence just looks awkward. stare DekenFrost Also is tipping a whole line full of those, I hate it. Comma splices, I hate those too. stare DekenFrost I mean what is up with that anyway ? The same occurs with the question mark of course. I mean, some people just cannot seem to find the common sense to use a spell-check these days.DekenFrost I mean I do understand it with only one exclamation mark and even one should only be placed in a good spot, not behind every damn sentence. What are you even trying to say in this sentence?!
Well, along with the exclamation thing, try using proper punctuation and sentence wording. This is a GRAMMAR-based guild, not Chatspeak Central. Try investing in Microsoft Word or something that has a built-in spell-check or search for one online. I am sure there millions of sites out there that enable spell-checking.

yoshideath When people say "Funner." It makes me very angry. Another word that falls into that category is 'stupider'. Only people stupider than the average IQ expectancy knows that it isn't actually a goddamn word~! biggrin

He said that all the time. He knew he was saying it wrong, but he liked the chuckles he got out of it.

I think people need to find other ways of attracting attention to them without raping the English language in order to do so.

DekenFrost yeah i will try. Thank you. You're welcome. wink DekenFrost Be nice I am new , I am german and I am trying my best. xd Comma splices and run-on sentences are the Scourge of Evil. xp
In my point-of-view, this is nice. At least I am not flaming your horrid way of spelling and writing and handing your charred a** back to you. biggrin As for being German; I really do not care about nationalities much. I am Korean, born in Korea, can read/write/speak Korean fluently and Korean was my first language but I write English just as well as I would write in Korean. Nationality does not really affect the way one writes. It all depends on your drive to learn. If you really want to learn to write English, you will. I am glad to see that you are at least trying. 3nodding Keep at it.DekenFrost Yes, ok pointing out my nationality is not fair i guess. Read previous statement.
Well, it seems like you have a problem with capitalization and with comma splices. That is easily fixed. biggrin
Other than that, you're good. 3nodding

Other than that, you're good. 3nodding Yes because in Germany you make almost everything in capital letters, while in English almost nothing. And the comma splices, I do not no they just confuse me i guess. sweatdrop Also i learned most of my English either through TV or Internet chat. So that is hard to get out of my spelling. But that was one of my intentions going into this guild, learning proper English. I can speak quite well but there are always words i do not know or forget, which sometimes freak me out. And capitalization is sometimes a problem in school, because either i get the German wrong or the English, it depends on what i write more often at that time. xd Oh by the way, you wrote " caplitalization" bad typo. wink

And the comma splices, I do not no they just confuse me i guess. sweatdrop Well, I guess it coud be hard to convert from German to English, I suppose. As for the comma splices; try to use semicolons instead to separate things rather than a comma.
For EX: Those people over there, they are loud. (Comma splice)
Well, those people over tere are loud. (Correct comma usage) Those people over there; they are loud. (Correct semicolon usage)
DekenFrost Also i learned most of my English either through TV or Internet chat. So that is hard to get out of my spelling. Well, there's your problem. Don't learn how to write from the television, or even from CHATTING~!! D: Those are the two worst places to learn grammar!! Read many, many books and see how they write. you will learn quite a lot from reading, I tell you.
DekenFrost But that was one of my intentions going into this guild, learning proper English. I can speak quite well but there are always words i do not know or forget, which sometimes freak me out. Well, like I have said in my last exerpt, just read a LOT.
DekenFrost And capitalization is sometimes a problem in school, because either i get the German wrong or the English, it depends on what i write more often at that time. xd Practice makes perfect.
DekenFrost Oh by the way, you wrote " caplitalization" bad typo. wink Nice catch. You're learning some. Keep at it and I gotta go~!! See you! I is being rushed off of the computer! D:

"Omgosh". I was reading this girl's online journal, and she apparently could not formulate a single sentence without using "omgosh" in it. Actually, come to think of it, she didn't use any periods. It was the most horrific a** raping of the English language I have ever seen. I think I may still have the link. Yes, I do still have it. Here it is.

There is a handful of literate people on Livejournal, but their number is growing smaller ever since the site tossed out the code policy. My livejournal entries are probably riddled with errors as I tend to write when I'm upset, but at least I bother to capitalize.

I have a LiveJournal that I rarely post in. When I do it's usually filled with anger directed toward the Army/people in charge of me, or quizzes. There really isn't much to base mine off of. Haha.
