"Guadalahara?" Izzy said laughing "It's not that I've been everywhere..which I haven't...it's just that Japanese culture intrigues me" he moved over and sat down on the pavement.

"Guadalajara is nice," Laura said, "When there isn't a chupacabra infestation. It helps that I speak Spanish too... but you know.
"As for Japan, I lived there when I was a toddler. My dad, he was in the US Navy and he was stationed there. I went to preschool there, but that's about it. As for my interests in the country, it basically comes down to the monsters they've got there... and the ninjas and samurai. What about you?"

Izzy thought for a moment "I traveled there when I was 10 years old with one of the Bishops.....I learned oragami (spelling^^) and I honed my skills in art and such...anyway I found the ninja and samurai to be very interesting..I kinda studied a little bit of Bushido during my stay" he smiled "I loved it there!"
Izzy got up and looked around "Do we go back home now? or do we have to investigate some more?"

((It's origami, 折り紙. It's from the verb 'oru' (to fold) and kami (paper) so it means folded paper. If you look at the kanji on the left, you can sort of see that the picture is of a person folding something over a table.))
"I can't stand most of the bushidō stuff, I'm too much of a wild card to take part in any of that. Still interesting, though."
She paused, counding off the seven virtues to see if she still remembered them all. It took her a moment to remember 'rectitude.'
Then Laura went on. "No, now we go home and file paperwork. It's a long process, but something you get used to. You would not believe how many pens I go through in a year on paperwork alone.

Izzy whimpered childishly "Awww..I don't want to do homework gonk "
Slumping, he walked over to his side of the car and hopped in "I thought I was done with that when I left Big Whammy" he continued smiling.

"It builds character," Laura joked. Then she went on, "But really, there are no jobs that don't require paperwork except those involving twelve hours a day of manual labor. And it's especially important for us because were a government-funded facility. You think the FBI doesn't do a lot of paperwork?
"Besides, the truck guys have the tough job. They have to get photos of the lions, nose prints, paw prints, x-rays, photos, blood work..." She counted off on her fingers. "We just write about what we saw and did, then we file it. It's much more Zen than you think."

Izzy smiled again "Ok...well I guess I have to."

"Oh, we do," he said in a haunting voice. She got into the driver's seat of her car again and checked to be sure everything was in functioning order; it was.
She would have to get the dent out of the hood and replace the windshield, but the bureau would pay for all of that, and they'd even fix it in-house.
Laura buckled her seatbelt and waited for Izzy to get in.

Izzy buckled his seatbelt and was ready to go. "So...do you usually work with a partner or do you work solo?"

(Honestly...does anyone else RP besides us?...not that I'm complaining^^o)
PostPosted: Tue Aug 12, 2008 11:20 pm

(I think more people will jump in as the guild gets bigger.)

Laura nodded, somewhat. "It really depends. No one has an official partner, but people get paired off sometimes for different jobs depending on their talents. I mean, I get the jobs with the monsters because I know monsters, yeah? Well, if the monster is particularly nasty, other agents might get assigned to the case to help me out.
"On the other hand, if I don't have any missions, I might get called to help someone out on a non-monster job if they need backup. It's a good system. In fact I've worked with almost every agent."
She rounded a corner faster than was necessary just to hear th tires scream. They'd get replaced along with the windshield.

Izzy smiled as she made the sharp turn "Wow! So you've worked with every agent? How are the others like? Did they have awesome power? Who were they?" he seemed to get a little excited..he still wanted to fight monsters it started to energize him no matter what papers needed to be filled out! "I love the idea of fighting creatures! It justs seems so thrilling!!! Now since I know I can fight it just seems to cool" he was getting a little too hyper for once.

Laura drew a blank for a few moments, and then she said, "Agent Leach is a human metal detector. That's pretty cool, he can find you if you're carrying metal or even if you've got high iron content in your blood.
"We've got some twins who can do math like crazy, to the point where it's practically not even funny. Like, calculus at age three crazy.
"There's a lady, she's in hr fifties now, but she can make corpses come alive. Really creepy to see, but morally objectionable depending on the sort of cadaver. I mean, it'd be really useful if you were in a graveyard and needed backup, but what about all the loved ones of those corpses? I bet they'd be pissed. Also, the smell...
"Oh, one of my favorites. Theres this one guy who can phase through anything natural. Basically, he goes through walls and stuff as long as they're not alloys like steel. Iron, rock, wood, though- all works for him. He just walks through it.
"And so on and so forth," she grinned. Laura did not have any delusions about her own ability- it was weird. Not always useful, but sometimes handy. It was a mediocre blessing. Sometimes she thought it would be cool to shoot rockets from her hands, but then, of course, how would she be able to fit under her door? Laura was content.
She rolled into the 'hangar' and parked her beat up neon haphazardly. "Well that was fun. I could go for some lunch. You?"

Mo was standing inside the hangar, his trademark lit cig hanging from his lip as he worked on the engine from his pickup truck. He looked up when he heard the car enter the hangar not far from where he was working. "Welcome back Laura, did we get to shoot anything this time, or did they all go quietly?" he said with a half cocked grin, as to imply this was some ongoing inside joke between the two of them. He then grabbed an already dirty rag and attempted to wipe his greasy hands clean, with little to no results. "Who you got witcha there?" he said as he eyed her younger looking companion.

Zigfreid smiled and nodded "Sure! I could go for anything right now!" as he got out of her car he spotted the older male across the lot and waved to him "Good afternoon!"

Laura approached the truck with a smile. She was tired, but she hid it reasonably well. She glanced over unnecessarily at Izzy and informed, "His name's Zigfreid. He transmutes drawings into three-dee... stuff." Laura gestured vaguely with her hands as if doing so would convey all that was Izzy.
"As for shooting stuff, I actually did. Lions, what are you gonna do?" She shrugged, then remembered the promise of food. "Mo, do you want to get lunch with us? I've got an Oreo stash somewhere I could dig out."
