She found his reply amusing and somehow flattering. she placed her hand on his shoulder for a moment, she hoped to bring him a little comfort. "Wise words indeed. If ever you wished to read something, I could make arrangements .. for a little assistance." she said with a smile. Pressing her hand on the table, she created one glass of water and one glass of tea. She said merrily; "Water just in front of your left hand, when you are ready."

Reeve felt her hand go onto his shoulder and tilted his head a bit. Gently he patted her hand for a moment, before finding the glass on the table. "I have survived without reading books, and music is a language all it's own. Besides... I would feel like a child again if you helped read to me." He chuckled again and took a sip of the water. "Thank you for the offer though. It is nice to see a creature that manages to keep it's heart. From what I can tell..." He smiled slightly and sipped the drink again. "... Well, lets just leave it at this. I don't have much faith left in... anything any longer."

Ziven giggled melodically. Taking a sip of her tea, she then looked at him with a grin. "Read to you? No, certainly not. I do, however, have my ways of helping written words .. come to life, shall we say." she paused for a moment again, considering his next words. Her personal guilt for her actions earlier compelled her to speak. "Though I do try to be kind to others often .. I cannot say that all would agree that I have kept my heart, my compassion for all. David has a first hand knowledge of this, I admit."

Angel walked down the stairs carrying a couple of bottles. Her crimson hair was tied back off her shouders to keep the twins from tugging it as they fed. They were old enough now to leave the breast and that pleased her. As much as she loved her babies, breastfeeding was beginning to hurt. A warm smile crossed her soft pink lips when she saw some patrons in idle conversation. She was happy she chose to never lock the doors to the Dragon's Nest. With a final glance she backed her way into the kitchen through the swinging door to clean the bottles.

Reeve paused for a second after hearing what she first said. "Are you saying the book nwill read to me? Now I'm confused..." He chuckled slightly, as he drank some more of the water. "Thats because you are a human. Each being has a breaking point... but many people choose to go down the path that leads to a dark life. Like people who are willing to watch others... loved ones die so he can extend his own life. That is an act of cowardice, and a person needs not be pushed to that." Reeve ran his finger along the top of the glass for a moment. "More often than not you meet a person who is willing to kill to get what they want. Not very often will you come across a person who is willing to try and help." Hopefully he was making sense to her, but again he was mostly saying this to help himself.

"Yes, I can make a book read for you." she said softly. She sighed softly with his next words. Rarely did she mention to others her thoughts on the matter but today it felt right to comment. Softy she replied. "I wonder at times if I truly am human. No other can do what I can without having first been affected by something else first."

"... Thats rather interesting..." Reeve said with a small laugh. He heard her sigh, then listened to what she had to say. "Well, now I have two questions. The first one is... Who cares if your not human? You could be... a demon from the lowest levels of hell and one such as I would not care. The person is what they do, not what they are." He finished off the rest of the water in one gulp. "The second is, what exactly can you do?" He was blunt, never seeing any purpose in trying to hide what he wanted to say.

"True, it matters not in the grand scheme of things to anyone if I am human or not. I care though, I want to know who I am." she drank deeply from her teacup before continuing. "I would suppose the shorter answer is what am I unable to do with magic. The answer is that I am unsure. Virtually every technique that uses magic that I have crossed paths with and been fortunate enough to find someone willing to teach, sooner or later I am able complete the task." with another small sigh, she felt that she had said too much. But what was said could not be unsaid.

"Well... You smell human, not that that matters much..." He chuckled slightly, trying to lighten the mood a bit. "And what you speak of is a human trait... A magic presented to you and taught can be learned. Some people it takes almost entire lifetimes to learn one spell. Others can master multiple spells in a months time." Reeve took something from his pocket and spun it in between his fingers. "I can't tell you why it works like that... perhaps you are just closer to mana than other people." He put the object to his blindfold and scrathed an itch. "Eventually though, you will encounter a section of magic that you will be practially unable to touch. It is the same for us all." Very carefully Reeve took off his blindfold.

She gave a half hearted laugh. His words were some comfort to her, but she still thirsted for the truth. "I am certain this will sound selfish or compulsive ... however I still wish to know why I am this way. I realize there are others born with natural talent, the others I have met generally found a catalyst first. It just ... seems illogical. Some have it in their blood. I, not knowing about my history, have been assuming that my parents were not able to use magic like this, why would they abandon me to my master if they were able to use magic? Why not teach me instead of leaving me? And .. I suppose that is the real desire is to just know that, regardless if the answers for my ability to use magic are found." she sighed and looked at him, wondering what he had done before removing his blindfold. "My apologies, I should not whine to you about such things."

Reeve took the object in his hand and brought it to one of his blind eyes. The object was a small, black stick with some kind of strange writing on it. "Well, if nothing spectacular has happened to you than you may assume that it is in your blood. As for why your mother and father did not teach you spells..." He dropped the stick a bit. "Perhaps they wanted you to learn them opn your own. If they were to teach you, you might have come across power far too easily. They could have spoon-fed you knowledge, and that would have led you down another path... By sending you to a different teacher, you learn things at a slower pace. Maybe they wanted to see how you do things on your own..." He smiled slightly. "Then again, I'm not in your shoes."
