"Wonderful." She pointed. "Land near the gravesite, will you? That's as good a place to start as any, and a good palce to elt your mount get away from this plce. No need to be here any longer than neccesary."

A nod to them both, though okay an odd sounding chuckle because of the mask at Onyx. Macho techniques...young boys would be young boys. "Right then, let us be on." A click of his tongue to Nerian to get him on the move again, working thier way down to the gravesite of the two who were of so much importance, easing himself down. He took a moment to rub at his arm and take a breath. Damnable poison. Elvish words to Nerian, though the horse didn't move too much.

"Oh." Now how did she miss that one? Eh, this was hard sometimes to process, her brain was still wrapping around it...besides the words that seemed to be harsher written and pronounced always seemed to give her a hassle. "Defiance, you'd think I'd know that one well enough to pick it out in any language." Piper picked off a piece of black fur she happened to notice from her sleeve, then smoothed down the fabric some. "Then I can hold it and you can use it through me. You can do that you know, our connection allows it." Oh yeah, she hadn't told him that had she?

Ony followed, eyes roaming around, nose flaring to catch scents. this was a strange place. a city...and from the looks of it..human built. not too bad, either. reminded him of the architexture around home.

"So who's buried here that's bone I have?"

Malik raised a brow.

"I see. you really think you can manage Malvolence? that would not be a simple, pick up a few seconds thing. it woudl take a few minutes, at least to cover that distance and dispell the summoning. I'd have to find and filter through probably Kieran, or the essence of Ton and Eca to reash the center of the spell, and shut it down."

PostPosted: Tue May 23, 2006 6:39 pm

"A bone from Eca, first Oracle I belive, and if my reading is correct. Told use to take a piece first time that we were here." He should of brought something to sling his arm with, it wasn't a happy appendage. Though he'd just's have to deal, wouldn't he?

"I know, and I never said that I could manage it. It's nothing more than a will transfer along bond. Not the most pleasant thing in the world...sometimes used for teaching purposes actually." There she was, being informative again while triple colored eyes scanned pages, hand flipping one from time to time. Why was this so hard today? "I'm not a fragile little surface elf you know." Oh wait, there she went again. "Damn it..."mumbled under her breath as she flipped another page and tried to concentrate. "It was just a suggestion." Piper shook her head and looked for topic change, finding it in another one of those 'what's this' questions. Pointing again to another drow written word. "That one?"

Catawa looked around a bit, but the gravesite was still and the castle in the distance was quite. "Inside the gates things might be hectic. Chances are that the Lich already knwos we're here. He won't care enough to come after us himself, so we should be alright for a while, at least." She set off for the sealed gates.
PostPosted: Tue May 23, 2006 7:25 pm

"I never said you were. But I also know your extreme dislike for the weapon, and hodling it is going to put you that much more in contact with it. it'll be stronger through you, combining the natural will of teh blade, and my influence thougth it will mean that you'll probably catch the effect it has through me, right? thus you'll get bombarded twice?"

A look at her word though.

"Valorous. as in 'The power of the shadows was wielding by the soldier in valourus display'."

"Interesting. So I have a peice of the first Oracle inside me."

A little adolescent snicker at that. Though he did notice the discomfort in Kieran's stance from his arm, and looked around..hey look, a dead body. and and even better, it has..what's left of a pair of pants. So looting the body of his pants, and tearing it, handing the fabric remains to Keiran.

"This place reeks of death. and undeath."

"I'm sure it won't be too bad, after all, we've already bested the minions of this place before...our chances are good." Starting off after Catawa but stopping a moment, giving a smile to Onyx and an appreciative nod, taking the fabric scrap and fashioning a sling. He'd at lest give it the support it wanted till it was needed to be loose. Another not to Onyx. "Let's keep up." Turning on his boot heel and taking after Catawa at a trot.

"You're cute with your examples in a one minded way, do you know that?" A slight little smile at that, fingers of one hand trailing over the metal of her collar as it sat on the smooth sheets next to her. That thing was never far from her at all, was it? And if she had her way, it wouldn't be and as soon as it was allowed it would go back on. Then a shrug. "I suppose if there was kickback involved, then it would be. Mind you, I'm just offering suggestions to ebb your own needs." Like to admit it or not, she knew how he more or less needed that blade. Though lately he'd been spending time without it...at least when he was around her.

The princeling leaned against a stalagemite, and watched the bodies of the dead cool into oblivion. He was alone, just as he was five hundred years ago when his life changed from his unglorious service as a captain in his Mother's army, to a wonderer. Five hundred years, and countless battles later, here he was leaning against a stone, and wondering why he was so hesitant. This orcish horde possed no threat to anyone, other than the weakened populations of the Purian Peninsula, where their lack of walled cities and professional armies would make the local populace food for this marching mass of flesh and teeth. As an army of ants consuming everything in their path, only to find a legendary promised land where they could escape that which troubled them most.

Surface orks should never have come into the deep. They yern too greatly for the brazen sun, and the moonlite sky. They yearn for the freedom of the open sky, and a world absent of drow.

Now this army had gathered, and marched many leagues to battle for those things, in a land promised to them from their god, Grmsh. So dedicated to this quest, they even stroke deals with many small tribes of diminutive goblins and kobolds, hydras and a few other things that lurk in the deep black. To march across the barrens, through the tunnels, across the streams, and into the castle of Death, where the portal to Life awaited them.

Such foolish and stupid creatures. Throwing away their lives like that, for such a silly thing. The surface world was a place of demons and decay. Ther was no freedom there, no freedom and no peace. The surface was a place of constant turmoil. A place that should be cleansed as it was a mellenia and a half ago-

"Kimmuriel," Ad'non greeted his sibling, "We have news."

"What?"

"Vierna is well."

"Oh."

"She is upset that you used her so poorly."

"I like it when a pawn dances."

Zaknefien and Dinin joined Kimmuriel at a predesinated stalagtite, near the main orcish encampement. THe mood of the three drow princes did not reflect the current situation, they seemed to be smiling like this was some kind of game, and the orcs merely pieces on it. They could not help but meddle in these affairs. Kimmuriel did not think that Malik could handle the pressure from an army at the moment, especially an army that has divine protection and inspiration against him.

"The are getting a few more bugs from the south western complex, probably planing something." Zaknefien reported.

"They also have been breeding a few things as well, and I notice that they are missing more sentrie, which means they are getting hungry." Dinin added.

"Should I ask the leader to wait longer, or should we let things run now?"

"Why are you asking me?" Zak asked.

"Oh well, let's see what happens."

Catawa approached the gates, sniffing lightly. The barriar that was here before Zahara's was still here, but only proved to be a minor annoyance. Catawa in her previous life had been skilled in diabling such things. Holding out a paw a moment, she felt for the magical webing of the barriar and picked it apart, unweaving it, so to speak. She made a while big enough for them to travel through, and opened the gate. "Don't fall behind."

Onyx watched, and sniffed as well..he didn't seem to pick up on teh scent she did. at least not at first. but this whole place was full of unfamiliar scents. though he was right after her when she passed through whatever she had stopped to undo.

"Don't worry about me keeping up. I'll be right behind you."

Malik and Piper of course were doing the reading and helping her with words, when a young woman came to the room. Malik gestured to her and felt her stomach and nodded before lettign her go back to what she was being used for...and reading a letter sent to him..then crumplign it up and throwing it away.

Malik had paid careful attention to Kimmuriel's vieled warnings about the Orc hordes, thier god, and how Andal might be percieved as thier 'land of milk and honey'. and he'd been considering methods to counter an offensive. He didn't know much about thier diety, but he assumed based on previous encounters, that they worshipped a warlike diety, much like the orc tribes of his home plane.

He had some traps in mind that Kimmuriel didn't know about, but might prove effective. he was well aware that his reputation for Necromancy and legions of the Undead was certainly spread out by now, and anyone that came at him woudl probably be overly prepared for it. So he has a few new tricks. he hoped, if Kimmuriel watched, as he probably would..that he woudl enjoy the show.

Kieran followed through, not stopping to think about what had been done, after all, he generally knew what was around here seeing as he'd been here once before. Nothing new to him, though his senses were prickling, kicking into that aware mode that they usually did when stepping into a sitaution that could turn sour quickly.

"You just lead, we'll keep pace." After all, Kieran didn't know his way down to where he had been poofed to. At least bearing that in mind there was still some adventure left. "Don't trust your eyes Onyx." Because who knew if more of those genetic knock off were trapsing around.

She merely diverted her attention from her little study session, which by this point she was writing in translations under the original lines. Writing always enforced and it made for easy reference back. Getting pretty good at this drow language thing, though still getting caught up at points. "Need I ask what you're up to?"

Sevilin gave a sigh, sitting cross legged on a rock outcropping that was in back of the fortress. Still not traveling home, eh Sevilin? It wasn't that he was afraid to go home, nor was he backing down from threat. He jsut merely perferred to avoid the confrontation if he could. I

n his opinion he'd far too much confrontation in his life thus far and in coming here it was his escape from it...almost like a vacation...but it was a permanent vacation. Would have to drag him kicking and screaming, then propbably bound and gagged to get him back to that damnable plane. Reading over that map of his again just in case he finalized a decision to move himself.

Zahara dried the last of the dishes she'd used to bake the cake and leaned against the counter with a glass of wine. She had nothing else to do, simply study, which she could actually do now that Sevilin was gone. Sighing she tapped her nails and walked to the island in the center of the kitchen resting her elbows on it and leaning over. Running a hand through her hair idly she finally decided to go see the horses. Stalling? Maybe...but Sevilin wasn't here to yell at her about it. And that was just fine with her. She tucked the book under her arm anyway and strolled through the dining room and into the sitting room, then out the door. Walking along, she went over things in her mind, not really paying attention, her body automatically alerting her to rocks and sticks jutting up from the ground. She visited with the horses and even gave the fawn a carrot and then left them as well, walking around the house and picking a spot to spread out her cloak, plop down and then opened her book.

As soon as Catawa and her two commrades stepped onto the Sky Father's soil, an eerie stillness worked it's way up their flesh. Perhaps it was the poisonous air, perhaps the menaving building, or maybe it was the shifting earth. Everywhere the gournd looked as if it were moving and andualting, hundreds of bodies were burried just beneath the earth, and were now trying to wriggle free.

"Whatever spell that blue once cast before is long gone and dispelled now. I suggest we get inside, where solid rock will keep the dead from grabbing at our feet." She kept waling across the shifting ground, krept up to the doorway, which stood slightly ajar.

The massive bullvian creature sat quietly in the ahll of the ship, praying continiously over a wooden palate. The palate was decorrated with a few things representing the domains of the Earth Mother. The creature was causiously trying to generate some kind of ward for the ship, but he did not tell anyone what that was or why he was doing it. Celeste only accepted it because she trusted the gentel giant.

The little obold contrasted against the minotaurs size, his frame looking very frail and fragile compared to that of the much sturdier minotaur. But, anyone who knew Tames would know better than to try and mess with him. Tames was a prized kobold slave fighter, not quite a gladiator, though he probably could compete in those arenas. Tames was more of a chicken for a cockfight. He slept soundlessly by the minotuar's legs, like a cute little puppy. Every so often his tail would sway or twitch, but he would generally not shrft or move. Tames did not like to sleep alone, so here he was, keeping the priest company.

Not to far away, Sstrl leaned against a pillar and sighed. He had wanted to go scouting for the Orcish army, a fun task if ever there was one, but the Captain decided to keep his party limited to drow. Responable enough. What was not reapsonable was the fact he needed Sstrl to guard some weaklings. Sstrl was not pleased with that, but his complants would get him nowhere. Eventually, he would be used again in a way that best suites his talents and his temperment. Until then, he would have to be watching the backso f the cerw of this ship. The sound of hooves beating on the deck meant that Aven was still working with the rigging. That foolish centaur loved ships.

Above deck, the centaur pulled hard on the ropes, causing the sails to turn which allowed the ship to make an ninety degree turn. The centaur loved nothing more than to feel his strength move the large baot along the wave, proving that his might can conquer the dark seas. Aven had shaved his beard away because it interfeared with the rigging process. His crudgel and bow were somewhere on the deck, and he would be hard pressed to find them should he need to fight. But, he would rather just stay on the ship and make it sail.
