The Darth Vizzle Because the character finds it effective. Unless you're having a big, storied background into why they became/are evil and how it serves their purposes. It depends on what 'sort' of evil you're playing, and what sort of angle you're going for. It's hard to describe, when I post the profile you'll see what I mean, but it's not just evil for the sake of evil. It's more like being trapped into evil.

Also, on the Striker thing:
TL;DR: People should learn to have their characters take hits and stop complaining about it. If your character gets into a fight and isn't getting ******** up, either you're doing something wrong, or your opponent is just making awful moves. There's nothing wrong with Strikers, so long as someone doesn't abuse the s**t out of it. If someone doesn't want to take the hit, that's probably their fault, not that of the Striker. Unless the Striker is like "I'm going to KO the s**t out of you and teabag you on the way down" or something. Otherwise, take the hit (and lessen the damage, if reasonable), then keep going.
Some people are just SCURR'D of having their character take any damage that might lessen their chance of winning (read as: ego stroking).
EDIT:: I mean, don't get me wrong, the system has kinks that needs to be worked out. But a lot of it is "user error" s**t because people can't put on their big-boy pants and just roll with the ******** scene.

Then don't do s**t. But if nothing gets fixed, we're gonna be seeing the same s**t again.

I missed HoH this year, but what was the big issue that even brought up the fact it may not happen again next year? I thought HoH was the largest tournament around, what happened?

Well, I'd like to see as many problems get patched up as possible to try and make things run smoothly.
The thing with Strikers, unfortunately, is unless you force a lot of rigidity on it, there will always be some problems. There's always going to be someone who will try to abuse it, or someone who will refuse to take damage.
So you would have to wonder if there's any means of fixing those two potential occurrences, or if the system is beyond saving. The quickest way to fix it is to say you can't KO someone with a Striker (because you aren't the fighter in the match) and that someone can't dodge/pro-actively react to a Striker (because it's supposed to be a surprise).
However, I'd bet that the more rules you try to place on it, the more people will try to find dumbshit little loopholes so they can have their way.

We're finally getting lives is what I keep hearing. It's time for the new generation to come in and do something, or something like that.

Most of them anyways. You're still here, Sun XD.
It really depends on who you call the older generation of RPers and the newer.
In any case, what's going to happen is the eventual passing of the torch. Some people leave, some walk in. Some participants step up to help run things, other people take their place. It's just a question of whether or not people want to bother keeping things going.

Pfft, people keep telling me there are these things called 'real lives.'
It'll be nice if the younger groups can actually settle up and continue to keep the ball rollin.
