Kraun I like the smell of wet concrete. Aww hell yeah. Ebag The II What happened to all the dorf talk? I convinced 8 people last night that my bookkeeper tearing the head off a kobold with his bare hands was more awesome than could be described with graphics, which is why it had to be done with a red tile reading "k".

Speaking of Strikers, is that system going to be polished more at all? From what I have seen, Strikers have been an excuse for to-the-back attacks or instant-maiming-attacks. This has caused some people either willingly or accidentally to make reactions as if they have eyes in the back of their heads or make it look like they don't want to get hurt.
To me, one good thing to do is to restrict how far a person can go with using their attacks. Ala, Marvel vs. Capcom, where you can call an assist, but they are usually just a minor attack that complements whatever else you're doing, be it healing by Son-Son or a typhoon by storm (defensive or offensive).
And then there's the to-the-back thing, which is hard to justify because no one really pays attention to if their backs are to the other team or not until the Striker actually happens.

Vintrict Speaking of Strikers, is that system going to be polished more at all? Up to *points at the camera* you. Vintrict From what I have seen, Strikers have been an excuse for to-the-back attacks or instant-maiming-attacks. That's half of it. The other half would be lengthening a combo or something like that. For offensive, that is, defensive strikers would be taking a hit for the team. Vintrict make it look like they don't want to get hurt. They don't. Strikers hardly ever work because everyone's always got eyes in the back of their head even while intense combat. Vintrict And then there's the to-the-back thing, which is hard to justify because no one really pays attention to if their backs are to the other team or not until the Striker actually happens. Maybe you don't. Half my posts last year included something about "keeping an eye on that guy who's not the size of a semi truck". Because srrsly... you're gonna see Athan coming.

I'm not saying I do. In fact, I don't even remember ever getting strikered other than by Sierra, and that was having Yusuke get driven through a wall. But he was too busy punching Silver into the ground to worry about anyone else around him, no less a Striker. I'm saying that the Striker system can give people bad impressions when they don't want to take a cheap shot. Cheap shots are something that comes with whether someone is going to be honorable or not, or whether their character is even honorable at all. That's enough of a debate that I don't want to cover, but it does leave an edgy problem of what Strikers are for anyway.
Generally, they are for giving a helping hand, but when competition gets involved, which happens to a lot of people, people tend to go for cheaper shots, such as cutting off an arm or something like that. My point is that when someone dodges a Striker or do something else to avoid one, it can bring a bad marking down onto the player judging wise. Being a judge myself, I want to know whether you guys pay attention to that type of situation or just call it how you see it.

Part of the problem I've always had with the point system is that there is no clear category for 'being a douche' with regards to where points are knocked off for refusing to take hits or having eyes in the back of their head to pull off impossible saves. Usually I just knocked it off of creativity or logic, but some people... seems like they don't remove any points for it.
Inconsistencies make me a sad panda. ='(

In either case, I look forward to the next HoH. I got a lot of making up to do in terms of advancing past the first round, in addition to deciding whether Team Urameshi will make a return or should I just focus on the starting team of Tenkai and Chen, with two more people to join our call for JUSTICE...if we can find the perfect two.

Also @Sun, can I safely assume you're going to keep walking forward in the Leviathan Stadium?

No. I was waiting for a couple of people to post that they were moving ahead, but I'll just have to push them along this afternoon. I'll be making a GM post later, so watch out for it.
