It takes a whole lot of willpower to become original. The problem is that people don't like truely original people, so it is not something that is done a lot.

Jon, that's absolutely right. People are often afraid of what they don't understand, which is why they don't like original people.

Turns out, Edward Fickensher of Mitchell, South Dakota wrote a short science fiction story about an alien world where the locals communicated through body/not body odor.
