Today, I started my fourth cycle of chemo. And during my long, 10 hour day, I met someone who has the same disease as I do. :] She's sweet and though she's three years older than I, we got along and are similar. :] I enjoyed a few hours of naptime when she left and then headed home. I've had some nausea so I haven't ate much. I tried to eat a burger, but french fries seemed to settle better. I'm just making my rounds through my guilds, now, posting, etc. Hoping my day tomorrow is a little better with nausea.

@dragon: i hope you get some much needed rain soon, from the last i heard the fires were nowhere near being contained to much of any degree.

@stars: I hope the nausea subsides so you can eat something tomorrow at least.

@pirhan: congrats on getting tons of things done. I find myself jealous of your bear sightings for some strange reason.

I worked today and that's about it. Having some computer troubles with some interesting malware that i've never had to deal with before so i might disappear for a few day's because i take forever to fix my computer. I think i might forget about trying to do all the stuff that is required to remove this malware and just format and reinstall windows because it honestly would be easier. Anyways tons of tomatoes coming out of the garden and quite a large amount of peppers. Including a new variety for our garden Habenero's. Haven't gotten to cook with them yet but i'm excited. 30 quarts of tomatoes have been cooked down and processed into sauce and theres still more coming. We've also had a bit of a cold snap the last week or so we haven't seen much over 70 degree's and this morning it was only 48 degree's so its about time to get everything out of the garden. Makes me want to start cooking...In fact i think i will be making chili sometime in the near future.

I participated in International Coastal Clean-Up today. My group and I picked up a lot of trash.

It rained most of the day yesterday, and it rained off and on today. All I can think is that I wish it had been raining at least two days ago.

This is just outside of the city, I think, but still too close for comfort.

Saturday my buddy's wedding went fantastic everyone had a good time, we had to kick some people out because they got out of hand but other than that it was good. Stayed at the wedding hall until 11:30 and then we all went out for a late dinner before heading home. Unfortunately i woke up with the worst cough which i assume is being caused by a respiratory infection of some sort so here i am 5 day's later still sick as a dog. Lots of rest and vitamins and such. Been very busy canning the tomato harvest this year, also got many pounds of potato's but haven't managed to weigh them. Also tons of Thai chili's and habenero peppers (my computer says i spelled that wrong but i'm too tired to fix it)
Time to go sleep for a couple of hours.

couple of different things:

first, i got my apple tree! yay! pics to follow soon. It's an Anna apple, which seems to be the only kind that will fruit here in florida. I hope to follow it up soon with a pomegranate and a fig, as they had both there at the store too.

second, we adopted a maine coon calico cat that had been abandoned. she's definitely the hubby's cat, and he's a heathen, so we named her Freyja.

third, apparently my eating good and staying active wasn't working anymore for controlling my blood pressure (long story short, i got hypertension near the end of my pregnancy and it never went away) so I had to go in and get medication for it. On one hand I feel like a failure for succumbing to the medical industry, but on the other I know I did what I could to keep it down on my own. I had always prided myself on being so healthy in all of my fat glory, and although i know it's not the fault of my weight, i know others will judge it to be so. I can only hope that I can get weaned off of the medicine relatively quickly.

Today, I made apple dumplings! They were pretty good. The bottoms of them were a bit slimy-ish so I ended up cutting that part off and eating the crispier part of the dumpling. XD But they were amazing.
I was hoping to go to the football game tonight but got stuck home because of the weather. So, I've just sat around. I'm hoping to do something else cooking-wise, tomorrow. We have a bunch of apples left over. XD

BREAKING NEWS!!!!

A man out in West Texas developed a new way of recapturing water in the air into drinkable water, as out there, their wells have gone completely dry, but there's still a little humidity in the air. He used a water container with a dehumidifier on top and placed it outsides to suck the moisture from the air and recondense it into potable water, and depending on what size container you have, like a 55 gallon water container, it will fill up in days (the 55 gal size will completely fill up in just over 3 days with 60% humidity!). Very cheap to run (couple cents per gallon), though the cost for weatherized humidifiers and solid water containers aren't cheap starting out, but it's a green way of saving water, and in the end saves you money!

Absolutely brilliant! His website is Drought Masters Inc. if you want to learn more. Perfect for this drought here!

Sorry... just had to share. ><

@ Happy: I wonder if the added cost of running a dehumidifier constantly is worth the offset to the water bill. We run a dehumidifier in our basement and it produces about 2 gallons per day if the indoor humidity gets above 50% But i'm not sure how much it costs us to run it constantly in the summer.

Edit: that same website has some of this guy's other inventions, such as the "it" self powered generator...somehow they claim that it produces more electricity than it takes to spin its generator and it has a 400 pound flywheel that once its up to speed takes almost no energy to run yet spins the generator and creates enough electricity to power various powertools...but no actual figures on output or input...kinda shady on that one.

Yeah I saw that one thought it was BS, but the science and study behind using a dehumidifier and a barrel was sound and doable. And depending on where you live, it would be very efficient and economical.

Rearranged the basement the other day which surprisingly only took a few hours, writing a review for a recent online purchase because if i review the product they give me a 10% off coupon...and i need an excuse to buy another knife. Helped my sister make a bunch of home made grape jelly the other day too. Now i'm going to eat breakfast and hopefully i get some stuff done today.

I used scrap wood to make a cookie sheet rack, to fill in a gap between the cabinets and my stove. I stained it to match, and used a turned stair spindle as a handle, so it would be pretty. Extra storage, and it keeps the cat out of there. smile

Also, I found a sofa sleeper that fits my tiny apartment (and is the right color) for $15 at a yard sale.

It takes me forever to rearrange/clean stuff because I end up playing with what I find! xd

I'm not sure if I've asked you, what do you do with these knives?

I'm on the last leg of work. Last day is Halloween. It's good, I'm really starting to feel it in my body. My boyfriend booked me in for a 90 minute hot stone massage and facial for next Saturday. The left side of my back gets all numb, so it's due. My hands look like that of an old mans - scratched, short dirty nails, dirt embedded into my fingers and holes where I've had to dig out rose thorns. A good go at my face will be nice to get all the dirt out.

I'm really looking forward to winter as there will be less to do outside. Being right in town that has a lot going on has taken up quite a bit of my time.

I also had two photos published in the local paper and got a cheque out of it! (Which I put in my savings account today.) whee
