Chaplain Fenix
My fort is up 60 dorfs.
My latest fortress is the exact opposite of my last one. To start off, my huntsdwarf was eaten by wolves right off the bat, shortly after training the dogs I brought along to keep him safe from wolves.
...
Regardles, the dogs have killed a kobold or two and mostly just mill around. The point is that I have 3 layers of silt and sand to get through before I even find stone, meaning my fortress has a value that is abysmally low. The first two waves of immigrants passed with nothing. With 6 dwarves I had to manage digging, chopping, cooking, brewing, farming, processing, thread and cloth and rope making, furnishing, carving what stone I do have into something useful, burning wood into ash and charcoal, making fertilizer, more farming, fending off bears and kobolds every now and again, and pissing off the elves.
Needless to say I was looking forward to the first wave of immigrants and getting 4-6 more dwarves to supplement the 6 I have.
End of spring, year 2. I went from 6 to 30 dorfs.
I'm gonna need more beds.
