"Not your nature? 'ow exactly did you get me into teh TR, Dorothy?"
Smirking some, not just at his newest pet name for the Daemon, but the notion of their 'relationship', he took a long drag of his cigarette and was about to move on, however.
"Our relationship. We aint got a relationship, Japo. We's acquaintances. Two strangers passing in teh night. Living as long as I will, 'n' long as you'll be stuck in that great bloody tooth pick, it's a long night."
He stood where he was for now. The comment on reception was interesting, and for now, he would indulge in it.
"O'course they're watching me. I's teh Lion introduced to teh Tiger exhibit. They know i'm similiar, big 'n' bitey but don't trust me so far's they can toss me. As fer teh other, you have to mean teh Clopper b*****d with a big need fer cable tv."

.: I don't think the changleing's need for TV is your biggest concern... :.
The voice was almost laughing inside Corbin's head now, tugging at his mind. Prehaps the air WAS a bit colder than it had been... and the breeze wasn't the cool evening air from the west, but a bitter northerly gust now...
...but then again, prehaps it was just a shift in the climate, and nothing sinister in the least. Certainly, the goat did not seem about to make one of his inopportune appearances right this moment.
.: It suspects you. Denial will only encourage him, and enable me. Whether you like it or not, we have a connection boy. Whether your teenage god likes it or not, we do. WHEN the changeling decides it is time you were leashed... your blood god will not have what it takes to spare you.
Whether you believe me or not does not matter. After you come back bleeding and broken, I will be able to ensure it's hold is no more than it is now. None other you know can, or will. Just as with your mistress' mercenary. Such futility suits my brother Kuni in a host. Never believe the chains which bind are the ones you can SEE.
Be assured, boy... I will be waiting. The time is coming. :.

"'ho said anything about u not 'aving a connection? I said we dun 'ave a relationship. There's no give 'n' take, we dun 'old 'ands. You show up once in'a while 'n' 'ave a rant at me. You's about the same 's Billy teh ********' clopper, 'cept you's restricted to teh bloody sword."
Turning on his boot heels he felt the cold air against his neck and snarled under his breath out of reflex. It was entirely possible that Ice wasn't anywhere near the mansion and grounds, and this was somehow projected, or pure odd coincidence. He'd however been sent out with a purpose, even if it was a punishment. Do the rounds, and he'd do just that.
He'd investigate the source of the bitterly invasive gust to the edge of the grounds, no further.
The Daemon then brought up his brother, and 'the mercenary'. It'd take a moment, though the dots did connect and he stopped dead in his tracks.
"WHAT? D'you mean that b*****d from teh Tabernacle's been hit upp by one o' you lot 'swell?"

As Corbin wandered after the source of the gust, and came to a halt with realisation of what Amatsu may be indicating, a grin appeared out of the darkness.
The figure was about 6ft this time, skin pale as a sheet, eyes black side to side, lips a purple-blue, drawn back in a definite grin to reveal lines of sharpened fangs. Wings emerged from its back, like twin crackling rips into reality, edged in jet black feathers.
"Everything you think you know is just a pattern on a rice grain in the sand. What I am, and can do, will never be confined to mere words on a page. You have no concept of what Damaris is either.
The time will come, boy. Until then, I will leave you to solve your own riddles. After all... I would hate to rant at you."
The figure vanished in an explosion of blue-white light. The chill wind raced across the ground, whipping up leaves and dirt, before the weather returned to normal. It was of course possible Corbin had merely seen a hallucination, or some kind of new mind play by the Daemon. he WAS restricted to his sword, right?
Except... a lone black feather, clearly not that of the local blackbirds, lay in the leaves piled around Corbin's feet. It was horrifically cold to the touch.
For now though, a lack of pressure inside his head would tell Corbin the entity was once again... gone.

This form, was very different to the one he'd last encountered in the TR. The wings tearing out of reality; NO, they were ripping INTO it, dispelling it almost the way his own illusions were dispelled by the true realm.
His rage faded, and completely unconscious of his expression his mouth hung agape, though just enough to let his breath show in the freezing air had it not been swept away by the winds.
As Amatsu spoke however he regained his composure and glared with focus rather than what could have only been awe of the display.
With the explosive escape from the scene he raised a hand to shield his eye from the light, more in annoyance at the sudden illumination, rather than genuine concern for harm.
Lowering his arm, he hissed at the Daemon's frustrating behaviour. It was all he needed right now after upsetting Roan so much.
"Damaris, aye..."
Groaning at the now tattered state of his remaining cigarette, he tossed the butt aside and pulled the pack out of his pocket. It wasn't until he was glancing downward, and shielding his lighter from the normal breeze that he noticed the feather by his feet.
That, didn't look right. That, looked like it belonged to the bothersome deity that had just invaded his senses... If that were the case though...
Cigarette lit he knelt down and pinched the quill, wincing slightly at the biting cold that ran through his index and thumb, though held it up to inspect.
"Was 'e, actually here?"
Stuffing the feather into a pouch on his Gunblade sheath he took a long deep breath, then exhaled.
"I better finish teh rounds... Then go back to Roan."
It seemed, this distraction had given him a chance to think more calmly on what Roan had said to him, and just what a tool he was. So he set off to complete the rounds, before then heading back inside.

The roar of an engine and a screech of tires signalled the return of Daegonna and Dagoth. Daegonna parked her bike and pulled off her helmet, laughing merrily as her brother tugged his off too, swearing colorfully.
"You weren't around to teach me to drive." She said, grinning. She swept her braid over her shoulder, and winked. "I had to learn myself."
She climbed off her bike, which her brother had been none too thrilled to find was her mode of transportation, and started towards the mansion.
She wore a leather jacket over a white cut off tanktop and jeans. Her clothes had dirt and ash on them, and the sleeve of her jacket sported a smear of blood where it appeared she might have smashed someone's nose with her bony little elbow. Dagoth looked equally grubby and battle-worn. Apparently the siblings had gone out for a night on the town to catch up.
"Did you see his face, though? SO worth it."

"You didn't so much learn as invent a new form."
Dagoth grinned at his sister, their journey around that night had been somewhat more manic than he expected. The Pirate prided himself on being able to deal with most crazy events but the recklessness at which she drove was new to him. He left the helmet on the back seat of the bike and removed the khaki canvas jacket he wore, underneath his arms were covered in the subtle black and blue bruises of fighting. Grinning at his sisters post combat glee, Dagoth had to fight the urge to just ruffle that hair but even he knew better.
"What about his mate, I figured you'd get two maybe three flips out of him but five! Bravo little sister bravo."

Daegonna laughed again, and bowed.
"I do my best." She said with a crooked smile.
The pair made their way back inside, and Daegonna quieted down a bit. She glanced ruefully down at herself and her brother, wondering if it bothered Roan that whenever Dae and Dag went out, they seemed to come back looking like they'd started a fight, a fire, or both.

Dagoth followed Dae back into the Mansion and handed his jacket to one of the staff members. His loose red t-shirt was stained with all manner of fluids and grime, he grinned at the young woman before cocking an eyebrow at her. What one earth was going through her mind he had quickly learnt that Dae was much more impulsive now as an adult than the little girl her knew. But she still could not hide the little ticks that showed her mind was fluttering over something.
"You keep thinking like that you'll go grey or senile."

Daegonna smirked, and pushed her worry to the back of her head.
"Can't help it." She said with a shrug.
She pulled off her jacket, revealing the tattoos her cutoff white shirt didn't quite cover. A tattoo of a pair of black-feathered wings took up most of her back, a green dragon spiralled up one leg and up her side, the horned head ending at her shoulder, and a small spiderweb with a tiny black and yellow spider at the center took up one forearm.
"I don't want to be a bother to Roan or the others..." She said after a moment of thoughtful silence. "I've been looking at places around town...I thought I could get a flat down by the river..." She stuck her hands in her pockets, and watched her brother's face. He'd barely let her out of his sight in the last few weeks, and she knew he was worried, but she didn't want to impose on the DeSeer household, or to overstay her welcome.

He sniggered before wobbling a bit looking confused for a second, he wasn't sure if it was the whiskey/vodka/Jager rushing through his system or the couple of shots to the head. Yet there she was worried about Roan finding her a bother Dagoth had the advantage there he mused.
"Trust me Dae, she'd tell ya. NOW, a flat down the river I like even I miss the water. However" he coughed making a big show of making himself more presentable with over the top movements. "One does not wish for you to be seen with persons of ill repute in a scum area."
He laughed at her, it was a slight miss direction on his true feelings. He was not wanting to leave the young woman alone again but he knew and understood that he could not keep her.

She burst out laughing at her brother's antics, and shook her head. "Oh, I don't doubt the Lady would make it clear she didn't want me hanging around, if that were how she felt. But I don't feel right, just hanging about, y'know? Feel like I oughta earn my keep." Daegonna explained.
In her world, nothing came for free, and the longer one went in the debt of another, the worse things got when it came time to pay dues.
"Basically, I want to repay the favors I owe, and then get out of everybody's hair." She shrugged. "But I don't know if the Lady or Corbin have any use for my..." she paused "talents. The dead don't tend to like, let alone seek, what I do." She pointed out.

"We are more alike than I remembered." He placed a hand on her shoulder, he felt incredibly awkward at doing this. He still was learning about his sister and emotion, affection and the like was not his strongest suit. "Remember that book I got you? You spent weeks doing anything to make it right like then its not the time."
He looked a lot more serious for a moment before returning to his massive grin, the pirate stretched for a second before strolling towards a chair and slumping his body into it.
"You have an interesting gift Dae, don't worry about it's creation. Trust me that eats away at you, tell me something sis. That is more than ink right? I can feel a subtle magic."

She smiled, and put a hand over his. She knew he was struggling with how to express himself, and she appreciated the effort.
She nodded slowly. She didn't like owing favors, but she understood.
When he asked about her tattoos, she smiled again, glad for the change in subject.
"Yeah. They're actually enchantments." She held out her right arm, and wiggled her fingers. The little spider picked itself up, the ink lifting out of her flesh and taking three-dimensional form, then scuttled down her arm. It dropped from her hand, sliding down a silvery thread.
"The dragon, Inariel, is a spirit who wanted out of her book, so that one's not quite resolved yet - neither she nor I particularly want to share my skin." She explained. "The others aren't actually sentient, and I have complete control over them." She lifted her hand, and the spider climbed back up, and settled back into her skin. "Inariel's helpful, but willful. We don't always see eye to eye. Eventually, I'd like to build her a body of her own, or find a permanent host or anything. But for now, we're sort of travel buddies."

Corbin would be quashed in his desire to report back to Roan until the next night. Her meeting dragged on, and when she did return, dawn was already tugging at the sky.
When she woke however, her first call was to Nines cellphone. She knew he had left the house, assumed he needed some space, but she now had a job for him she wanted done. One that would benefit both of them in many ways.
"Nines, its Roan. Can you come by the mansion? We need to talk, and I promise to have positive things to say to you."
