Moonstone shrugged. "I don't really know myself. I've felt the pain on the spiritwalk, but I lacked emotions at the time" he tried smiling pelasantly in the midst of all the confusion and what not. He was getting used to this face at the medical center. "I'll be here to look after her for a while."
Getting back to her ol self, if only to lighten the mood. "Yes, yes. Go. Cedric, I look forward to speaking with you again in time." A lie. Perhaps in tiem it would become truth. "Aella...be a good girl."
She sighed, kissed Meilikki's cheek before opening the door. "I'll see you later, ma." And she lef Cedric out of the room and out of the Fortress.

Cedric followed Aella in relative silence. After a while, he spoke. "Usuallly I don't mind walking in silience, because usually I walk alone. Do you mind if we speak for a few minutes?"

She cleared her throat to make sure there were no tears behind her voice. "Of course. What do you wish to speak about?"

"I do not mean to pry, but Onyx mentioned that you did not live a very pleasent life." The elf paused and allowed her to follow his line of thought for a moment, "Could you tell me if you have dealt with that tragic past?"

She shrugged. "You could say I'm still on the mend. I Still have issues that need to be resolved."

"How old are you?" A rather bold question, from an elf's perspective though, this was important in this case. The following lines of question would answer any hostility towards it.

She shook her head. "I don't know. I lost track of the years in the harem." But she tried her best. "I think I'm still fairly young by both elven and human standards. Certainly not an adult by elven."

Cedric smield at Aella, "I was a child when my homeland was put to the torch. Just old enough to hold our general's shield for him. For the first few years, I wondered aimlessly, but eventually I found a quiet place. That quiet place was home to a great sage, who valued life and honesty above all things. He took in my broken self, and offered me what I needed to regenerate my soul. After he died, I was faced with a decission: What should I do with my life now?" The elf paused, as was currently in his habbits.
"I decided that I would search for truth. Not battle evil for the sack of good, nor find and destroy those who destroyed my people, as someone you know did. I travelled from nation to nation, seeking the wisest people to discuss philosophy, often battling evil along the way, and occassionally good. I am no butcher, but I will not stand for injustice; thus, when push comes to shove, I fight with my soul."
"Five hundred years after my family was slaughtered, I still do not feel whole. I still feel the ache in my bones where the love and support of my family once flurished. I do nto think I will ever get past that injury, and I am not saddened by this fact. I have come to grasp that my past is part of who I am; I can not hide from it, nor shall I forget it. THe hiddeous terrors that stalked my youth did stalk my youth. But, I shall not allow myself to become that which cause my despair. I will not allow my shadows to cover the light of today, or tomorrow. At times, when standing near burning buildings, or when I hear the screams of children in pain, I can feel and remember my past with great clairity. Similar to a spirit walking, I can recall the pain and suffering of those events." He paused to look into Aella's eyes, his orbs surprising full of zeal.
"I remember the pain, and the sorrow. The shame and the indignity. I recall the hopelessness and the despair. Such things are different for different people, I may not have been ravished by the enemy hordes, and cannot claim to know that terror. If I was, would I be able to stand now, I do not know. But I do know, I should not allow myself to feel that life will repeat itself."
"I honestly think that I only find solace in the present because I am quite assured that Iwill find people to share my path with. Though I may walk this tunnel or the one after by myself, I will find another quiet place, where a soul is waiting to be my friend. I cannot allow myself to believe that I will not find love. "
"You are terrified right now, because you found love, and it was taken away. You are not dealing with the present as maturely as you are capable of, because you feel defeated and worn. You accepted your punishment because you could not find the strength to fight it. You are weak right now, and very hesitant. If you were faed with the choice of death, I am not so certain you would resist... But for now, and until an appropriate time comes, you shall have me to bare your life. Unlike Onyx, I will not do everything you desire or ask, or even try to get your acceptance. You do not have a choice, I am your bodyguard. Until such a time as you are able to bare the burden of your past, and walk in the present, and look to the future, you will have a silly, self absorbed, ignorant, arrogant, selfish elf protecting you from that which troubles you most..." The elf smiled, "But you will have to find out what that is on your own."

Onyx got up, he coudln't stand it anymore. he didn't even have to see Cedric's face to know the pity in it from Moonstone's response. He gave a slight glare to his twin. it wasn't like they'd been forced to...it was somethign they were offered. A chance to really know thier father in ways that they normally wouldn't. and Onyx had jumped on it. only after it, he'd had the same emotional state he'd just talked about. he felt so..inferior to what his father was, what he couldn't be.
So he went into the Oracle's room, and sat down by her bed.
"I really have gone and screwed everything up this time, haven't I."

She blinked. "Wow. I can't say I have the type of mind to think as you do."
"I've just been summed up. How humble yet...strangely comforting that is." She smiled a bit, feeling a little less confused than before. "Thank you Cedric, for your sinceity. But...why?" She was just curious at this point.
Meilikki sighed. Goodness, but his moods changed quickly didn't they? "Your chances dropped from thirty percent to ten, right there." She knew that much at elast. Fog in her head was clearing slowly.
"With half of your emotions split and given to your brother, you've let what remains run rampant. That's not always a good thing."

"Because it is an evil deed to not do good when one is able. I do not wish to be evil; therefore, I must do good when the need arises, as it has in you." The elf smield, "Do not fret over me. Should I die, it will surely be a good death. Should you die, surely it will be without regret."
"We can probably convince Zalikite and Talon to assist with any need that may arise, as I am sure your captain will as well."
"Now tell me the name of the ship we are returning too, so I can message them with a nice little cantrip... if they are in range."

"So what should I do. I won't take emotion fro Moonstone again. But I seem to have..I don't know. more anger. more hate and rage. I think the fuse on my temper is probably a third of what it used to be. and I'm still molting. that's just irritating."
Yes, his moods changed quicked. his fuse was short, and his temper was rather explosive, but it burned itself out quickly as well.
"Everything I try to do just blows up in my face. I try to be nice, I try to help her..and she gets punished for it. I lose my temper, and she becomes afriad and hesitant around me. when I'm mean, she's afriad to be aroudn me, when I'm nice, she gets punished for it. how am I supposed to show her that I can be what she needs me to be if she'll either be afriad of my temper or worried about being punished?"

"Without regret." She repeated that, licking the sound of it.
"I don't relaly know either of them very well..." Gees...there was a lot of men on that ship, wasn't there?
"It's called teh GTS Integrity."
She couldn't give any straight forawrd answer, she wasn't well enough to know them yet. She almost laughed. Not back a day and she was already working.
"You told her some things at a time that was too early for her to hear. Now she fears everything you do is to further a specific end. You are too eager to pounce on outlets for your emotions, which include being too nice or too angry." Gees, this wasn't as easy as it was before.
"The only advice I can give you for now is to avoid large shows of emotion. Anger or attraction, whatever it is. So called 'higher' emotions frighten her."

Cedric smiled softly, and blushed slightly. "G.T.S. Integrity..." The elf raised a hand into the air, and let some sparks fly. "Celeste will be here momentarily." Before he finsihed his sentance, the female elf materialized before the duet.
"Cedric... You look..." She was red around the eyes, and somewhat on her neck.
"I am well. You seem to have hit hard-" A flash of light, and the three were standing on the deck of the ship. " times." The elf looked about, "Really hard times. There are alot of half elves serving on this ship. What happened?"
"Elric lead the crew on a man hunt, into a trap and got everyone more or less killed."
"That does not sound right. I told you guys that revenge would only lead to more death. But know, what would a whiny kid know about that?" Cedric seemed to be a little more than intent in that dialog.
"YOU ARE THE ONE WHO WONDERED OFF IN THE NIGHT!" Celeste yelled at the other elf, drawing attention from everyone nearby. Elric wondered over.
"Hey kiddo." The elf slapped the younger elf on the should, 'How's it going?"
"Elric," Celeste began, "I'm trying to talk with Cedric here." She seemed to be blushing more than angry. "Please, don't interrupt my scowlling."
"Its good to see you both alive and well." Cedric chuckled. He looked at Aella, "You've had a trying couple days, you should lay down for a bit, I'll take care of your share of the work."
"OH no you don't, You're coming with me." Celeste grabed Cedric's coller and tugged him towards the cabbin.
"Please play nice, and don't make a mess." Elric said after them, then turned to Aella. "Cedric escaped with use 500 years ago. He was dazed, and wondered away on us, and actually avoided us when we sought him out. A few decades later, Celeste found him wondering around a lake in the east. Pretty much random meetings since." The elf smiled, "My cousin pegged him young."

"So be a docile kitten when she's around."
He reached over to her, and took her hand gently.
"You know, you're probably the only person around here that even comes close to understanding me. and I am sorry, for what it's worth. which probably isn't much."
