*Eecheb's injury would probably go unnoticed by Mastema until the child started complaining of the pain. Then and only then would Mastema heal him.... possibly. Mastema shook his head and walked out the door. He could tell where Trilla was at any given time, so he just casually walks in her wake. He could guess that she was either going to the cafeteria or Than's room*

*Trilla continued down the stairs, and as usual she was quite fast. Whether Mastema knew her as well as he thought he did, was yet to be seen. The girl was still tear filled, and probably still quite resistant*
Trilla: crying
*Nana knelt down infront of Thanatos, placing a hand gently upon his back, consoling him lightly. Nana would try to be as calm about this as possible, even though it seemed unlikely. Again she would try to give support to the boy, even though she was herself, starting to doubt her ability to do so*

No, you weren't wrong. It's never wrong to try when those you care about are those you try for. || ....Thanatos? There may be a way to find out-- if your friend... is ok.

*Not even bothering to try the elevator, Trilla just kept running. A bit of rebellion in children at times was natural. With Thanatos having moved past that point of development before Mastema got a taste of it, this like most things was probably annoying, quite annoying. When or if Mastema caught up to her, would the child be disaplined, or let off as this was a first time offense? All that was up to Mastema in the end*

*Than flinched at the touch of Nana's hand on his back*..... It was a promise I made to her. Whether I failed or succeeded, I said I would be there for her..... and now I can't even know where she is. *Than heard what Nana said about being able to find Kai, possibly, but it seemed to do little to console him* And then what? How could I act, what could I say......I let her down. But still... nngh. *Than felt rather ill now. He saw the fallacies in his own words. Even if he had let Kaiori down, would he deny her the right to say to him whatever she wanted to? What would he achieve by just hiding from her for the rest of time. On the brink of this question, more images from Than's time at the temple surfaced*.....I can still see it..... I can still see their faces.... *Than seemed to now go to an entirely different topic*

Then what? You would know if she was alive or not, if you don't already know from what your heart tells you now. How could you act? didn't you say "Whether I failed or succeeded, I said I would be there for her.", "It was a promise I made to her." Didn't you go to that place? Didn't you you see her? Weren't you there, to be there for her. To try and help her, whether you succeeded or failed? You were there for her, and she did see you. She knows that you cared enough to try, and I hope she keeps that in her heart. That she has someone who cares so deeply as to risk themselves. I wonder if she knows how lucky she is to have you Thanatos... That Kaiori girl.
*Thanatos was probably unaware until that point that Nana knew Kaiori's name, or anything about her. Mastema had filled her in a little, and the two had been within close proximity at the dojo once. Still face to face they had yet to meet, but Nana knew of her none the less. Once Thanatos had changed the subject, Nana looks to him in question. She didn't know that they had all be slaughtered, even the children*
>_>
Hmm? "Their faces"? The people from the temple?

*As he'd done when coming to the children's room Mastema now went down an entire floor in once step, fading in and out of view. Eventually Mastema would just stop the child if she so persisted in this rebellion*

*Mastema probably would have to stop her, she was intent on running outside of the tower itself. One could probably assume, that she'd rather be by her mother's side right now rather than Mastema's*

*Nana did have a few points, which were what Than had realized to be the fallacies in his argument a moment ago. It was true that he'd promised her that. Failure or not, it was no excuse to him to break that obligation... no... the wish he had to do whatever he could. He would know what to say when.... "if" he actually saw her again. However, Nana's comment of Kai being "lucky" to have Than did make the boy go deep into thought. Was she really lucky to have him as a friend who was willing to give his all to help her?.... Along with all of his fond memories of Kai, the more supressed memories also arose. Of course one stood out..... Apollo. It didn't matter to Than that Nana knew her name. His attention is again switched when Nana asks what he'd meant. Than's real hand raised to cover his eye and lightly grasp his forehead* There must've been hundreds of people there...... all students of the temple. They were no better than any other criminals.... but still.... they didn't deserve to have their lives taken. I don't know how it happened! I just woke up and I found all of them.... every last one of them dead! Their corpses were everywhere.... they still are! Kaiori wasn't there.... so I can only imagine what happened to her. But that's not all. The youngest students there..... they weren't any older than my own siblings! Not even they were spared! I don't understand..... why did those dozens if not hundreds of children have to die!? They were probably too young to even know why they were at the temple! I can still see the looks of fear, pain, and desperation frozen on their faces....... I can see the last thoughts and feelings they had before they were struck down....

*Mastema wasn't in the mood for chases... not this late at least. As Trilla turned down the hall of the hall at the bottom of the next flight of stairs, in her teary state, she'd probably just run right into Mastema's arm, which would keep her held close to him as Mastema crouched close to the ground*

*Somehow it didn't surprize Nana at all, that there were so many dead. She did care, but she'd seen so much death herself over the years, that perhaps it just effected her less and less as time went on. Of course, word of the children being killed did make her sad. The innocents that knew nothing of war or evil, those who were there without knowing why. She thought of Micha, Eecheb, and Trilla when Thanatos mentioned how young some of them were. It must have been something so frightening for Thanatos to see. Again Nana questioned how Thanatos could even smile when he saw her again*
v__v
I don't know Thanatos... I don't know. I don't have all of the answers, no matter how I wish I did. I just don't know...
*Trilla wasn't really watching where she was going, and her tears blured the hallway a bit to her eyes. Blobs of color was mostly what she saw, and then a large black blob, but it was too big to be Fenton. Trilla does run right into Mastema and evne stumbles back a bit. Afterall it was like running into an impassable wall, so she bounced off of him a bit. Mastema was more than quick enough to stop the girl from falling, so for all intents and pourposes, Trilla had been caught.... yet again*
Trilla: gonk crying
*By now, Micha was sitting in the throne again, as small screens floated about. He paid them no mind, perhaps. At least things had quieted down, Micha had heard Mastema's booming voice not too long ago. It didn't seem to phase the child any though, there was little that did. Eecheb was asleep, and would probably be out of it for a few hours or perhaps until morning*

*Than just keep sobbing. All of these memories he'd kept to himself.... and still letting all of it out made no lesser the burden on his heart. The hatred, sorrow, fear, and anger of his failures was gradually building.... and he was beginning to lose control of the balance. True, he could tolerate a lot... but Than did have limits on how much his psyche could take. One could only pray that Than never developed telepathic ability like Mastema* If someone could do that willingly..... then why would they spare Kaiori...... *Than just sighs. Against all of his agony, he still held hope of finding Kaiori alive* It's just not right Nana....... She's given everything she has for anyone she cares about.... she's even done it for complete strangers and even people who've committed mortal sins. All she wanted..... All she wanted was to help people and for people to just leave her past behind her. She wanted to go on and be there for everyone. But no one will let her do it. They all want to hurt her, use her, and take her for their own just because they can. None of them really know her..... *Than thought for a moment* Not even I do. I can't say whether or not she's shown me her real self.... but I wouldn't force her to nor would I wish a life of being taken advantage of upon her... It's just... not right... *Than felt no relief in reciting his own wishes to him. Not only did they seem incomplete to him.... but he was also forced to remember that he really didn't know Kai. Of course he could describe her appearance, her voice, her charisma..... but he couldn't tell anyone about her. Kai, not unlike several people, kept her inner most feelings contained, never to be told. And because of it, Than knew that may never know how Kaiori really felt. But... it did little to change his resolve*

*Mastema sighed lightly as Trilla slightly resisted in his grip. He stood up and lifted Trilla into his arms. Slowly, he started walking back upstairs. Of course, he couldn't leave Trilla as was*... Trilla... why are you afraid of me? *It was a question Mastema probably knew the answer to, but he asked anyway*

*Perhaps just knowing if she was alive could help Thanatos a little. Knowing was better than not, right?
--__--
...again Thanatos, I don't know. But-- ...I can still find out if she is, still with this world.
*Trilla continued to wimper, her head was over Mastema's shoulder, and her voice was easily heard through her blubbering. Her answer might be, and interesting one to Mastema, or perhaps not at all. It was just the irrationality of the child speaking afterall*
Trilla: crying You're not papa! Papa never yells at Trilla! You're not papa.....! Not papa.....
