*Nana's distase for this Orias person was rather appearent. Perhaps if Thanatos found a tactful way to ask, then Nana would tell him of their first meeting. Then again perhapshe wouldn't ask at all, and would judge for himself what he tought of the man. Already he had at least one bad mark, giving Eecheb a lighter, or perhaps trying to tell him what to do. Nana didn't know about that yet, and if she found out then most assuredly another word with both himself and Mastema would be held*
--_--
...oh?
*Back in the tower, the yelling had turned into a hitting spree, and at times a wresting match. Eecheb appeared to have the upper hand, but Trilla was putting up a good fight, she had the energy too afterall. What would Nana think of them now. Leaving them for such a short time, then returning to two of her children covered in black and blue marks*
Trilla: Ahh! Don't pull Trilla's hair! Ahhyahh!! gonk
Eecheb: The don't kick me!! stressed
*Micha moves over to a different pannel of glass and looks out distantly to another part of the citadel, in the south. Micha was looking at the south tower. Perhaps he'd visit there sometime, but it wouldn't be tonight*
Micha: . . .

*Indeed how Nana and Orias had met was a different story which may be inquired into later. Than hoped that his story would be as convincing as he hoped* It's not really a pleasant thing, but here goes. Eecheb and I were taking a little walk last night, since he said he didn't want to go back to the tower right then. *Than smiled a bit* He's a lot nicer once he gets used to you being around him I think, at least he was open enough to ask me questions. *Than raised his left arm* Because my arm was red he was actually more concerned as to whether I was hurt or not than about the lighter he'd been given. However.... *Than huffed* At one point.... I collapsed on the street because of well.... for now lets just say I was having a little internal problem which became too much for me to handle. It was difficult to hear when I was down, but I know Eecheb didn't abandon me. Instead he actually called Zio and alerted my father. With Otosan's telepathic aid I did recover rather quickly. Maybe it's just me... but I thought it was rather impressive that Eecheb stayed and did that... even if he was a little shaken to say the least when it was over.

*Hearing that Thanatos had collapsed on the street had made Nana a little uneasy. He had an internal problem? Perhaps it had to do with some of the things Mastema had told her about Thanatos' past. Being brave was one thing, but it didn't necessarily make it ok for the boy to have a lighter. Especially not a lighter given to him by a demon, like Orias*
>.>;
...are you sure you'll alright now?
--_--
Yes, it is impressive that Eecheb didn't run, he's a brave boy. But-- that doesn't necessarily mean he's old enough for such a device. Let alone from a stranger, like Orias...

*Than looked down and away for a moment* Well... if you want the truth.... Iie, I'm not sure I'm all right. That's why after I said everything I had to say to you I was going to have Otosan double check that. I still have to apologize to Eecheb the next time we're alone for scaring him like that. I know it's only one small step... but I guess maybe I was just being hopeful in thinking he could learn something from having to be careful with this. I already showed him how it works and how to use it safely. He also gave me his word that he wouldn't set anything on fire and he would't use it as a weapon against someone.... especially his siblings. But... it's your call in the end. *Than handed the lighter to Nana, so she could take it if she wished. Whether Than would succeed in winning Eecheb a chance to show his responsibility or if Than would just have another failure to add to his recent events would be determined now*

Ah good, I hope that you come back with a clean bill of health. But no, I don't think Eecheb is ready yet, not quite yet.
*Nana accpets the lighter for now*
--__--
Eecheb has a few issues to work through first I think, before such a tool could be handed over to him. I'll have to watch him for a bit. When he becomes more responsable with his emotions then and only then will I consider it. Right now, he's too un-focused and angry for one reason or another. But know this Thanatos, since it was you who came to me with this, when I think he's ready then you can be the one to give this to him. Perhaps in that, he will grow a little closer to you agian.
*While Nana and Thanatos' conversation continued, Eecheb and Trilla continued to beat eachother senseless. They both pulled on the cane, and used it back and forth to beat eachother without letting go. Along with that they used their feet and fists. Such an unruley pair, one could only imagine what scraps the two might possibly get into, once they grew a little more. As it was, the two would probably have black and blue marks and maybe a welt or two....... or five*

*Than sighed heavily. One more strike for the failure side. So far he'd failed Kai. He'd failed Micha. And now he'd failed Eecheb. How long would it be before he failed Trilla?* I understand. You know him much better than I do, so I trust your judgment.... I always have. But, Nana, if you're going to let me be the one to give it to him when the time comes..... then I also ask that you do the other fair thing and let me be the one to tell him he can't keep it. I was the one who told him he would be able to and that I would do whatever I could to make sure it would stay his. It's only fair that he be mad at me for not doing what I said I would. I know that it's only logical that he not have posession of it yet.... but he has every right to be cross with me because I agreed to do it. *Than's saddened tone was easy to pick up on. There was an underlying hint of fear though. Was he afraid of Eecheb? No, it was probably more the fact that he was afraid of his brother's hatred*

*Mastema shook his head lightly* stare What a burden....*Mastema faded through the roof where he'd been standing and landed lightly in the middle of the 100th floor. Mastema then took one step forward and he was on the 99th floor, and then he took yet one more step and was on the 98th floor. Mastema stepped over to the door of the children's room and peered in. Since the two were too absorbed in fighting, they wouldn't notice him. At least, they wouldn't notice him until a large "clap" sound rang through the room and Mastema slapped his palms against each other*

*Nana shakes her head gently. Thanatos didn't always have to bare the world on his shoulders*
--__--
No, you shouldn't have to always bare the burden alone. I should tell him, he can be cross at me. You told him you would talk with me about it? Well you did, but in the end I still said "no". Let me the barer of bad news this time. He may be disappointed right now, but he'll soon overcome it, I have no dobt in that.
*One of the trivialities of having more than one child was that often they may fight, such as in this instance. This wasn't the first time Mastema had to break up a fight between the two either. At least he was being a responsible adult and taking care of it. Even after the clap had rung through the room thw two continued to brawl. Even Mastema hadn't gotten through this time? The fighting however does abruptly come to an end when Eecheb literally shreaks rather loudly. Up until then, he seemed to have had the upper hand, so what changed? No doubt it would be a shock to anyone who gazed upon the children now. Even Trilla had stopped to see what she'd done to garter such a response. In the girl's left hand, pulled stiff, was something black with a dulled shine to it. It seemed spaded at the end, and slender, and what ever it was led strait to Eecheb whom had the most pain ridden face the child could possibly make at the time*
Eecheb: gonk !!
Trilla: >.> ?!

*Than's shoulders just dropped. The boy was also starting to tremble* Iie. I told him he could have the lighter. I'm the one who was wrong..... I'm the one who lied to him..... *A sad smile went across his face, but it was hidden by his lowered head* He even told me that same night that he just wanted people to stop lying to him and telling him what to do..... When I think about it, it's really not that much to ask. Hell.... all I wanted was the same thing when I was younger..... *Than's trembling grew worse... so much so that his right hand clutched his left shoulder*

*Mastema just glared down at the two. Eecheb's pained face didn't hinder his judgment.... of course the child was going to be hurt if he fought. Mastema would notice the tail in a moment. But right now Mastema's voice came loudly enough, probably, to make the two jump through the roof* What do you two think you are doing!?

*Thanatos' tremors were easily seen by now. It worried Nana, she didn't know just what was going to happen now. Perhaps Thanatos was just far to fragile, more so than she could have imagined. Nana's hands raise, partially reaching out to Thanatos*
o.o !
T--Thanatos?
*Indeed Trilla at the very least jumped at the booming sound of her father's voice, so much so that she yanked the "tail" in her hand again causing Eecheb to once again wail, then limpen a bit. The boy's wings make one drawn out flap in unison before also going limp at Eecheb's side*
Eecheb: x.x
*Trilla had successfully subdued her brother, thus winning the cane, but as the cost of his conciousness and a great deal of pain between them. Mastema had never really raised his voice to the children before, so after the obvious shock sets in, the only remaining concious of the two, Trilla starts to cry. Afterall for someone so attached to her father figure, what was worse than being yelled at and scoled?*
Trilla: crying

*Mastema watched as Eecheb went unconscious and shook his head. As nice as he'd been to Trilla thus far, right now he was far from being comforting. Mastema quickly moved over to Eecheb and lifted the unconscious boy's body up. Eecheb would be carefully tucked into his bed with his head put on his temporary pillow. After Eecheb was set to bed, and Mastema having taken a moment to look over Eecheb's unique.... "limb," Mastema moved over by Trilla. Instead of apologizing for being loud, he gave her a calm, straight forward command, which may get variable responses from the blubbering girl* Trilla.... go to bed... now....

*Than's right hand left his elbow and slowly reached into the collar of his suit. Than then pulled out the goddess token that Kaiori had given him on their last day spent together. He held the item in his palm for a moment and stared at it. It wasn't long before his eyes became to teary to make out the necklace's form anymore. Than let the token hang loosely around his neck as he fell to his knees and hugged his arms around his stomach, almost doubling over. His voice shook and choked uncontrollably so* Nana.... I...... I....... I couldn't do it! I couldn't save her.....

*How could Trilla even look Mastema in the eye right now? She'd been bad and was caught again, only this time she'd been caught by Mastema. Childhood irrationality probably took over at this point, as well as perhaps Trilla's first real rebellion as a child. In other words, she took a stand against bedtime and her father*
Trilla: ........NO!!! crying
*Shouting at the child had only gained the same response in return. As soon as her "altimadum" was given the girl ran from the room and down the stair well. Where she was going, was a mystery but taking into account what Mastema already knew of the child's habits thus far, he could probably make an educated guess as to where she was headed. Eecheb was out cold, and now tucked into bed. Though unnoticed at the time due to the loudness of everything in the room, Eecheb's tail had been... snapped, or rather it had been yanked so hard that the bones had seperated near the base. Once Eecheb woke up he would be in even more pain than before, for now his tail was broken in at least two places*
o.o
Than--
*Nana blinked momentarily, then looked down to her stepson. Her look was one humbled, and acknowledging. How long had Thanatos kept that locked up? He had chuckled, laughed, smiled, but how? With a response like this, how did he have the strength to be able to smile? He must have been poisoning himself with all of those tears. So much that it made him sick and collapes, huddled and crying infront of Nana*
o.o
Oh, Thanatos.....
*For the moment she didn't know what to say, what could she say? "I'm sorry", "Are you alright?", nothing seemed right at that moment in time, nothing at all. Thanatos couldn't save her? Then... was she dead? Or was she still alive and being held captive somewhere? Nana couldn't possibly ask him, not until he calmed down, if he calmed down. Failure was something quite crippling to Thanatos, that much was obvious. Even if she had said "yes" Eecheb can keep the lighter, would that have changed the current outcome? Nana just didn't know, and no amount of hugging in the world looked like it was going to make the boy feel any better*

*Indeed, there was little that could stop Than's outpour of sadness and self hatred* I can do infinite amounts of good for this damned machination of a city.... but when it comes to the person who helped me become who I am I can't do anything! *From Than's trembling, it was a wonder how he was keeping himself above ground* kuso! She already told me a long time ago that she didn't need a hero. I understand that.... that's why I just wanted to be there for her as someone who cared. I wasn't trying to save her to be some knight in shining armor..... I was just doing what anyone who called themselves her friend should do. But even then, I didn't do it for any obligation.... it was my choice and my wish to help her. *Than choked on his own words*..... Was I wrong to try? In the end I got myself caught and they only used that fact to torment her further. Hell.... she wouldn't even look me in the eye when I finally saw her...... why? Was capture just another burden on her heart? My failure became her burden? *Than punched the ground, which made but a weak tap if anything. Then, Than lets off a small laugh, which was drenched in sorrow* Dammit. The last time we were together.... the last time we parted, I didn't want to leave her. It took enough convincing for her to let me go that she said herself I was "making it sound like it was forever." *There was a steady dropping of tears from Than's remaining eye by now* And look what happens.... that was the last time I ever got the chance to talk to her.... now I don't even know if she's alive.....
