*Nana ponders the question over for a moment or two. She had always given Proto a choice, in what ever it did. Was being alone also a choice that Proto had chosen?*

Hnn... I'm not sure exactly myself. I've come down to the main floor before and found music playing, several music types playing at once actually. I've always liked to give Proto the choice to come and go, to do something it found interesting or worth while. But really, I'm not sure.
*It was true that Proto became the self proclaimed guard of the central tower. It had started again when Nana gave the thing a choice. "Do you want to stay out here, or would you prefer to come inside?". From then on Nana had continued to ask Proto things, and give it choices. "Would you like to come on a walk with me, or stay here?". In a way, it could partially be the automation's own fault being alone all the time*

Hmm.... I see. Well... I talked with Proto for a while when I came back last night..... and I'm starting to have some questions about him come up. I don't know whether any of it is due to his inability to communicate with other people *Than looked to the sky for a moment* For one thing..... he says that a lot of droids have been destroyed and damaged because of the expansion project..... and he says it's the loss of his "brothers" that irks him..... but it's not that which really surprised me.....

Hnn... so that was the problem afterall. Proto had been sulking if you will for a few days. I wasn't quite sure why until I spoke with your father, he came to the conclusion that the destroyed droids might have been the cause of Proto's depressed nature. I was worried about it, I still am. Mastema had told me that Proto was the original command model, and had therefore had a connection to the other droids of the citadel. To loose one's family... I know how Proto must feel.

*Than laughed as if he'd heard a bad joke* It goes much deeper than that. True, the fact that Proto can feel depression and be sad is in itself an anamoly... but there's something else. Proto told me that he didn't know his brother's were.... "gone" because of any electronic signals or sensors. He told me he received the electronic signals that they'd been destroyed much later. He says..... that before those signals came to him, he already knew they were gone. He could feel the destruction of their forms. *He sighed* I don't really know how to say it in words Nana. Somehow some way, Proto's evolving. He's already gained some sort of spatial awareness! If he showed me a little more evidence, I dare to say that Proto's psychic!.... *Than seemed as much confused as what he said sounded. Indeed it could be big news, to hear that a robot could become psychic and aware beyond its build in sensors*

*Nana, not being techincal savvy in any way shape or form couldn't even begin to take in the information and decifer it. A robot, a non-living entity gaining awareness was one thing, but then having it hinted that it could also be "psychic", it seemed almost to much, and definitly unreal, sureal!*

*He continued walking, obviously caught up in thought as well* I really don't know. I gave Proto all the programming to function as any other of the droids would be able to.... 100%. But I never did anything to give it that kind of awareness. Honestly, I could be misinterpretting what Proto said to me.... maybe he was just guessing that his brother's were gone. But.... it just doesn't seem that way. Somehow... somehow Proto's gained grasp and even use of concepts that few people really know anything about.... and I think he's still going through this "evolution"....

Well.... your father originaly created Proto, perhaps there's something there that he knows about or that he can tell you. Maybe, just maybe he could give you an answer. If Proto is "evolving", then I'd like to also know how, and in which direction.

But... ugh I'm getting ahead of myself. *Than rubbed his forehead a little* I guess I have some questioning to do.... both for Otosan and for Proto *Than took a light breath. It was definitely a topic which required some deep thought*

Well, I hope he can explain it to you. If even he doesn't know, then I'm not quite sure what to think. This world-- no, this universe, is full of things stranger and more frightening and beautiful than anything you can imagine. Whether it was meant to happen or not, I have no clue.
*Perhaps if Proto really was evolving, it would be one of those strange and beautiful things. Then again it could also be the strange and frightening*

Hai.... I just hope that it's not something that will change him for the worse. *Than sighed* Hmm.... it's been forever since I've been here.... *Than smiled to himself as he took his first step up towards the garden* Hmm... I'm curious.... what have my siblings been learning while I was away. I was gone a good month or more wasn't I?

Indeed, and in teaching all of the children sign language, then they'll be able to communicate with Micha aswell. Apperently he'd been reading sign language books on his own, before hand. Taking an interest in things the children like aswell helps communication between them do you agree?

Hmm, perhaps something will have to be set up so Zio can reccognize when Micha signs for it. I'll have to talk to Mastema about that later.
*Indeed, having Zio understand when Micha signed for its use would be highly useful. As it was, the boy would have to manually go place to place to get to where he needed to, or to try and get something he wanted. Zio was just another luxury of the citadel, but a useful one*

It's just hard because he's very.... inexpressive. sweatdrop I guess it's to be expected though *Than walks happily into the garden, still talking to Nana* Otosan? ^^ *He chuckles* Don't bother.... I'll make the program for Zio if it's not already there. *Once again, Than was offering to make a contribution to his siblings*

*Nana didn't want to take advantage of Thanatos, and his abilities but since he did offer. If he wanted to contribute to his younger siblings then it was nice to see. Hopefully Micha would be appriciative of Thanatos' act. Nana places a hand on the side of her face*
