You know when sasuke fought diedara? He shaped his chidori into various shapes, he made it a sword and even individual needles. In the manga they said he used shape manipulation or something.

Actually, no I don't know, I haven't read that far yet. But I think I know what you're getting at. I'd say, unless the mods eventually add a technique like that to the list, feel free to do something like that on your own merits. Just like choosing your target for a Substitution, it's just how you portray the technique.
