Aurora really has nothing to add except, "Just be on your guard, everyone."

Gin related what information she had about the storage area for ammo and guns, as well as where the kitchen was located from this area.
"I tried to not go to far from here since I wasn't attracting to much of those things attention" she said. She was releived at the quiet from them. She sighed soflty and she looked around carefully making sure not to see anything that she didn't know what it was.
"Unfortunaly the only weapons I know how to use are the ones I have on me. It's the only bullets i reconized how to use and fix if they jamed" she admited sheapishly. She knew there was plenty more. She just didn't know how to use any of it

Continuing on, the ambient hum of the station would be the only noise reaching their ears other than that they made on their own...at least until those with sharper hearing would detect what sounds like raspy, erratic breathing up ahead. Mio pauses and holds up a hand and whispers, "Wait!" Something was definitely up ahead, judging from the noise he was hearing, but it wasn't showing up on his HUD radar.

Miya's elven ears twitched as the strange sound reached her. She didn't need Mio's warning to know to stop. The medic didn't know what could be making that noise, but she was certain it wasn't some normal, friendly creature. Pulling an arrow out of her quiver, she aimed down the hall, bowstring pulled back only half-way on the off-chance it was actually something friendly up ahead.

Aurora holds up her hand in a fist, signaling the others to stop. "What is it, Mio?" she asks.

Aleron stopped at the captains order, and at Mace growling feircly down the hall. "Hang on. This has some killer range." he said, aiming his powerful LED light down the hall, trying to find whatever was breathing.
((AnCat, that was great.))

"Lieutenant! Not yet!" Aurora hisses. Too late. She readies her weapon to dispatch whatever it was that would inevitably charge down the hall at them thanks to Aleron's brazen move.

((I loved the sound effect, even if those things did creep me out from RE4. Using the infinite rocket launcher on them is oh-so-satisfying.))
"I don't know, cap'n..." Mio would reply, rapidly recalibrating his suit's sensors wit his data-com. Finally, a blip shows up on his HUD as Aleron shines his light down the hallway.
At first, there was nothing other than a still hallway...and then, a pair red eyes gleam in the darkness. A humanoid figure shambles into the light, it's hide the same color as the goop that grew in patches on the hallway surfaces. The only other feature on its head was a maw filled with wicked, crooked fangs, and it lurches forward, that eerie breathing of it getting louder and it's entire form seemingly seized with fits of twitching. It bangs on a storage drum that it passes, a staccato sequence that brings shrieks from farther down the hallway and the sound of things rushing their way...

Aleron blinked. "....Awh s**t..." he said, keeping his light trained on it. "Remember what I said about range? Now would be a great time for that..." he commented quietly. He wasn't a fan of letting these things close after 2 kinds had tried eating him so far.
((Agreed in full, man...-shudders-))

"Great job, Lieutenant. Draw it in before we can formulate a plan." She opens fire on the thing, aiming for the limbs first and then the torso and head, using short burts and stopping as soon as it fell, not wanting to waste ammo.

"Dangit, Aleron!" Miya said quietly but forcefully, irritated at his bone-headed move. Everyone knows that, for a creature that lives in dark places, light is an irritant and makes things either run in fear or run towards it with injurious intent.
Pulling the bowstring all the way back, the half-elf took aim at the creature's head, right between the eyes to be more specific, and let her arrow fly. Without waiting to see if it hit or not, she reached for another arrow and sent it flying as well, aiming lower this time...more for it's torso and it's heart...if it had one.
The fact that she fired at roughly the same time as the Captain made Miya very glad that almost nothing could break her arrows due to the material they were made of.
(( btw, Miya has awesome aim. so, unless the thing twitched/dodged in the amount of time it takes between the arrow being launched and hitting it...it would almost certainly hit. ))

"I have to see what we're against before we can plan on how to kill it!" he said in his defense, keeping the light on the creature so the others could hit it. He watched the foe get hit, really hoping it would fall...and stay there.

Mio, behind the others, readies his gun but refrains from firing since the others were ahead of him. He does turn on the helmet camera to record a vid of the creature, and watches as Aurora's bullets tear off an arm and Miya's arrow tears into its head, causing it to emit a wheezing moan even as the force of the arrow causes its torso to bend over backward.
The arm on the ground rots away to nothing in moments, and tendrils whip out of the stump, quickly wrapping around themselves and knitting a new arm even as it stands back up and continues in its erratic gate towards the group. A few rivets from the rivet gun cause gaping wounds that would knit together like the arm had, though the force caused it to stumble back a bit.
Shuffling in the vents could be heard approaching, and more shrieks came from down the hallway. The shape of a group of the bladed Shriekers could be seen in the flashing lights down the hall, closing the distance to the group quickly.
Poor Sonja found herself frozen by fear, the nightmare of Leyton come back to life all over again, and then some.

"Dangit! Looks like that one can't be killed unless it's completely destroyed or somethi--oh crap," Miya remarked as she watched the thing regenerate, then saw the horde of other creatures come at them. Knowing that she couldn't beat the regenerating one with her arrows, she focused instead on the large group.
Pulling an arrow from her quiver, she waited until she could just barely make out their shapes. Then, as quickly as she could, she would launch arrow after arrow, first at both shoulder joints, then the neck/torso connection of each creature. Three, four, five, six, seven, eight... she thought, keeping a mental tally of how many arrows she'd fired.

Gin wanted to smack that moron with the but of her gun. WHo the hell drew attention to themselves in this kind of situation. She scowled.
"Mabye that flame thrower would work on that one" She said. Doing what Miya was doing and aiming for the Blades behind the regrowing one. Her guns woudln't do much damage if it just could smush it's self together again. She would really.. really like to retreat. There were a crap ton of them and the noise would probably bring more. Not to mention the vents--
"Keep out an eye behind us, They will use the vents and drop down from behind" she said quickly just to remind everyone that yeah these things ate and acted like mindless yuckie creeps, but they did have a bit of inteligence to them
