*hugs* Thanks, Jenny & Uneth.
Agh, don't read this if "womanly body issues" bother you:
Something has been wrong with my body, and some of the signs make me think I could be pregnant. Like, I haven't had a period in 3 months. I just assumed it was because I stopped taking my birth control pills and my body's readjusting and acting up, but this is ridiculous. And then, I discovered that I've gained 12 lbs in the last few months, yet for some reason, I don't LOOK like it.
However, I've taken three pregnancy tests now weeks apart from each other, and they're all negative. I haven't had "morning sickness" or anything, though I HAVE had weird cravings, cramps, and pimple breakouts (I don't normally have pimples). It doesn't seem possible either, 'cause we always use protection if not double protection (condom+pill) and we've never had any scares like a condom break. So that probably means that my hormones are messed up. Where is my period? What if I'm infertile now? I'm just freaking out a little...
I almost wish I were simply pregnant, at least nothing would be "wrong." And having a baby right now would not be catastrophic for either of us, since I'm out of school and work from my home studio. So yes, I need to look up physicians who are covered by my new insurance. I should've done this awhile ago, but I was determined that my period would "come back anytime." x__x

Awh, honey. My old roommate had a really similar scare over the summer - she didn't get hers for several months, felt like she was gaining weight, was feeling nauseous, etc., and we wound up making at least three drugstore runs because she was panicking, but yeah, everything came back saying no. She finally got hers right before we both moved, though, and I think we eventually just attributed it to the fact that we had just moved (so her routines had all changed around and gotten thrown out of whack) and she was really really stressed out about moving to Davis and whether or not her boy was going to go with her.
I really hope everything's okay, though, and that your body is just being slightly grumpy for no good reason aside from that it's a body and therefore tempermental. *doublehug*
...I need to stop sleeping in so late. x.x

my body's doing similar stuff - not quite as many months and it's more like 5 persistent bounce-up-and-down pounds - but the same with the totally incongruous missing period and negative pregnancy tests. i actually just got mine after... this time it was a month and a half. it went for over 2 months earlier this fall.
what i suspect is not that i'm having early menopause or something. twins run in my family. heavy periods are a common thing with me. i SUSPECT that i keep having twin eggs - hence the heavy periods - and therefore some months i had already used up that month's egg? this may not be how the body works. whatever.
i saw a doctor and she said everything was in order in my lady parts. i encourage you to do the same, so that at the very least you can get a little reassurance.

Oh good, I'm incredibly relieved to hear that it just happens sometimes...
Now that I think about it, I missed my first period after my grandma died three months ago. So that could very well have been stress-related. And since then, I've been stressed because I've been afraid of being pregnant.
...Which means the weight gain is just me getting fat. Jesus Christ, I've never been this heavy in my life. It still baffles me because my routine is not really different, and my body does not really look different either, so where's all the junk going? Maybe it's the massive amount of BLOOD that hasn't been released for the last three months. xP

Geez Aivi you scared me in the last page. gonk
But yeah stress will do all of those things, miss periods, gain wait, have lots of headaches, and all that other s**t.
But also dropping birth-control is another factor, your body is probably just readjusting or something like that. 3nodding
Boy are you going to be a bleeder when the dam finally gives. lol
I donno why you whited out all the lady bits talk, most of us are all adults or already in our 20's

just a thought - don't doctors usually tell you to give a new BC pill 3 months for your body to adjust to it, so you can see if it's causing you any side effects you don't like? maybe it takes that amount of time to come off it properly and your hormones are having a rough time readjusting to their natural levels. were you on it for a really long time?

I WISH stress caused me to miss periods. It apparently does the opposite to me. I once had a period last for THREE GODAMNED WEEKS.

procrastination girl just a thought - don't doctors usually tell you to give a new BC pill 3 months for your body to adjust to it, so you can see if it's causing you any side effects you don't like? maybe it takes that amount of time to come off it properly and your hormones are having a rough time readjusting to their natural levels. were you on it for a really long time? That makes sense - I did have severe side effects for awhile when my body was first getting used to it. I was on the pill for about 3 years. The first month I stopped the pill (due to a lack of insurance coverage for me since I'm no longer a student) I still got my period 30 days later, so it seemed bizarre that it'd suddenly disappear. @Tom - I know plenty of guys (and girls) in their 20's who feel icky about reading other people's bodily problems, so I was being considerate. I'm also not comfortable sharing personal things like that unless people who care are the ones looking, so it came down to white text or size 3 font.

Aivi: In my opinion they need to grow the ******** up. It's just normal bodily functions. talk2hand
On the other hand I have been so ******** desensitized from this kind of s**t with 9 years of internet under my belt. 5 of those being a gaia user, so I've seen all the disturbing pictures and s**t from tubgirl to kids in a sand box. emo
It's a wonder why I'm still sane. xp
So it's understandable about your reserves though. sweatdrop
Too bad there isn't anything this interesting about guys that I can throw in here, at least anything that I can think of. xp lol

Natural birth control
no bad side effects
But not "FDA" approved, so they have "Popular for woman's health" stamped on it instead, explaining nothing.
Wild yam... root? Or something rather.
Indeedly.
Apparently it's growing in popularity with teens that don't want to go to a doctor and parents have to take them/find out, etc...
And the fact it doesn't have the terribad side effects. I don't know the facts...oh, I should google it, actually.
Also, natural "miscarriage" with parsley stuff... oh, lawdy, am I glad for all this organic/natural what haves you.
JJ's mother is certified/degree/I have no idea in all this natural remedy stuff... apparently had people who had doctors tell them they had a month to live with cancer, etc....and... she... used...natural... stuff... and he's alive and well...right now. Amongst other cases.
Holy. s**t.
~~~~~ ;3 I've heard of other things like that, as a "I know a person who knows a person" deal... but, now I know someone personally! Good stuff.
~~~ It's better to have all those negatives, as it is extremely, extremely rare to get a false positive. Two false positives are ... more or less a virtual impossibility.

^)@!&^E$&@^)#
When did Q&A become full of such condescending ********? If you don't know the answer, then don't reply!
Do any of you happen to have the link they passed out about a month after the 2008 Halloween event that allowed you to return to your previous self? I seem to have lost it. All I get in Q&A is "lulz go buy a humn poshun. they r cheep." What if I wasn't HUMAN, you presumptuous a**? Of course, I totally was, but that doesn't make you any less of a presumptuous a**. stressed stressed stressed
Edit: Thank you, Sevi! heart
And why didn't I just think to delete my avatar instead of waiting for the link? I have starter hair... Oh well. I guess all of the completely irrelevant answers just got under my skin and I didn't think. gonk
