MvC2's fun, but it isn't worth the $70 price tag. It'll be cheaper on live of course, but it's not like they're going to re-balance anything or make Sentinel less retarded. It's really hard for me to take this game seriously on a competitive level.
And this is coming from the guy who plays Dissidia.
I'm cheap and just borrowed it from my friend who doesn't play it anymore.

I have a Dreamcast, but I still can't get over the aforementioned price tag. As it is, I blow more than enough money on s**t I don't need.
Edit: Is it just me, or does Gaia hand out like... 200 gold a post now? =/

C. Fox I just... I wouldn't like to run into a Captain Commando assist while trying to crawl under missiles. CAPTAIN CORRIDOR! Maybe Talbain would do much much better in MvC1 or TvC. Has anybody done an MVC Talbain for Mugen yet? nah, i understand... it'd be easy to pull back, but if the screen moves and you don't see him coming, you're gonna eat it.
now, what i've always wanted for someone to do with ds chars is to have them perform their supers exactly the way it's done in the game. i don't mean the button presses... things gotta change sometimes. but the way the game doesn't stop to warn you... that's what i'd love to have. someone does that captain corridor, talbain blocks... and then dragon cannons him before the guy who called commando has a chance to think "gotta protect him on the way out".
no mvc talbain... there's a ds2 one, i think. he's a bit on the slow side, as if they hadn't adjusted his speed to "turbo1" or something to fit everything else, but he still manages to be solid. he's faster in ds3... the whole game is faster, actually.
desi> if morrigan is ryu, lilith is like... dan. a lot less jokey and sucky, but an offshoot of the char with a weaker fireball.
morrigan and dimitri are understood to be the ryu/ken of the series. in japan, the series name is "vampire," which would make dimitri the star. sequels take the two out of the limelight ["vampire hunter"/ds2 directly refers to donovan, and to a much lesser extent, hsien-ko; "vampire savior"/ds3 directly refers to jedah], but they're still accepted as lead stars, the most recognizable.
they're both fast, but the fact that morrigan's slower than dimitri but arguably stronger with some of her attacks and moves [vector drain, midnight illusion] while dimitri is quick as hell and has moves that hit multiple times [dashing demon's cradle] have me name them as ryu and ken, respectively.
rage> i really, really like felicia too. but if i had to fight in a tourney... i find that she takes a bit more damage than i like, so i'd go with hsien-ko.
son son is also nice. wish her supers weren't so blatant and slow, but outside of that she's a nice char to toy with.

The DC game is actually cheaper than the PS2/Xbox game.
It's affordable.

I bought MvC 2 on the Dreamcast a couple of years ago before the price went all insane.
And I got it on the PS2 at a discount because I worked at GameStop at the time. Though, the disk is kind of scratched, but still plays, and there's no manual. Either way I should probably try to sell it on an auction site before the game hits PS3 / 360.
Also, I know I'm going to buy it against my better judgment, but I don't really see myself playing it online. Street Fighter 4 taught me that I am not nearly hardcore / insane enough to be playing fighting games online, at least against random people who [insert mother's basement / haven't seen the light in years joke here].
Also EX Combo, I'm so glad I wrote that post instead of cleaning like I've been meaning to.
