Basing it off the average salary of an optometrist, the four years of school it'll take me, and the 150k I'll be owing for my student loans.

Change your mindset.
Mostly investing and trading real estate with the aid of my friend's sexy real estate agent licensed sister.
And messing about in the stock market.
Stop thinking about how much you'll be working for.
And start thinking about how to *make* that. Or more than that.

I've always sucked at investing money, so I'm just going to stick with what I know is a for sure thing.
Maybe when I have some disposable income again I'll start playin' that game.

None of my income is disposable. Because I don't consider these ventures as throwaway.
I just look at it this way. I know people who play it safe.
They are my parents... and they are back in school now so they can keep continuing the cycle of working for money.. and looking for a job.. and having to go on interviews. Working two jobs. All that stuff.
And then there are people who take risks. Not wild risks.. but calculated risks.
I'd rather risk losing more money.. than losing my life to that cycle.
