She watched the wolves for a moment then turned back to the little doe. Compassion, a previously unknown emotion to her, at least in the way of putting a name to it overcame her and she walked forward. It would be a simple matter to sever the chains, a bit of magic could do that no problem. Torn in indecision she stood there, arms crossed and sighed. Bode was harmless, it was a little doe for goodness sakes. Then why is she chained? Her mind whispered the phrase. Wolves can easily catch her and eat her...why is she chained? "Because Dimitri likes seeing poor defenseless things harmed in the cruelest of ways." she muttered under her breath remembering the feeling of helplessness when she was chained to the wall. Not a pleasant feeling. Her mind made up she walked forward, a blast of magic and the chains were severed. One hand reached down and pulled the little doe to her feet and Zahara watched her closely. Why did she have a horrible feeling that all was about to go wrong? Reminders of lessons her mother had taught her floated through her mind. You free something that looks harmless and suddenly it wants to eat you and is no longer harmless. But it was a bit too late now, wasn't it? She'd just have to be careful and watch her step.

Catawa lead Kieran deeper and deeper into the castle. They were able to avoid most encoutners, but there were some things down here that didn't have smells for Catawa to pinpoint. She prooved effective as a fighter, if she was a bit weak from lack of nutrition. The further down they went, the clearer the air became, the cleaner the corradors, the higher the ceilings.

The mutated elf screamed in pain, blood splattering everywhere. She lashed out at Piper, the only thing she was able to do before falling to the ground, that kife wadged deep into her head, writhing until her life drained out of her. After dead, she lay still, her distroted features contorted even further in the last throws of pain.

The doe's hooves clacked against the ground as she stood, unsteady and shaking a bit. The magic that had freed her was as frightening as the woman in front of her. But there were no tricks under this child's fur, she was nothing but easy genetics to make a quick meal. Or sometimes a sport. The doe looked back and forth over the amphitheatre, afraid that the next chage might open. She hid herself behind the drow.

A huge carcass now littered the hall, smelling and bleeding over everthing. From there, two lefts and a aright would find Jarlaxle in front of a reincofrec door, painted black with silver coloured hinges and door knob. Yeah, Dmitri used doors. It was a human thing. This door however, was never locked, and it was easily accessed from either the inside or the outside. It was an attack against the Oracle, hope so close, yet she could not touch it. It had worked wonders to break her spirit.

A few minutes passed and the doe, instead of turning into a raging monster and trying to bite her head off, remained a doe. A sweet, harmless, little doe. Zahara glanced around unsure of what to do now. She had no idea how to get back to where she'd been originally but they certainly couldn't stay here. It was time to move. Turning around, she slowly lifted the doe into her arms, much the way one would a puppy all the while whispering, "I'm not going to hurt you...I promise." Now she had two things to take care of, by the gods, she was turning into a regular Champion, wasn't she? Glancing down at her pocket to make sure Toharu was still there, she began to walk. There had to be a door somewhere and she damn well was going to find it.

Jarlaxle looked at the door with a great amount of suspicion. He knew that weak races used these things in their buildings, s they did not posses the strength to create better alternatives to them. He placed his lefft hand near the door, and felt that there was no trick with it. It was a generic door. He opened it with ease, and of course, seeing the Oracle, how she was, and where she was, he understood the dark purpose. "Almsot as the Princeling's Mother." He loked around the room befoer entering, with one hand partially out of commission, he was limited to which tricks and tactics he could use in such a place.

Encounters became briefer and brefier, which Kieran was rather thankful for, his elvish endurance wasn't failing him but he was quite banged up, for when you were attacked often by more than one and by things that didn't care of themselves, attacks were ruthless. "I take it we are more or less past main defenses, yes Catawa?" Though as things quieted down and became more hospitable, he reached down his surcoat...and drew out Raziel, lying his palm flat so Raziel could sit easily there. "Are you alright my friend?"

Do tell where he had been? Well, in one of Kieran's inside pockets of his surcoat that was lined with chainmail. A little protective tucked away spot that Raziel could take cover in, in such situations. It had proved useful before and it did so again. He brought his other hand hand, sword still in hand and used the back of hsi hand to wipe at the gash in his cheek again.

It was a sickening feeling to feel blood splattered on her person, drenching her and matching the silver white of her hair to the red streaks dyed in. For a moment she sat there on the floor, staring at the thing in front of her. She wanted to make sure it wasn't moving. Reaching out with a shaking hand she dislodged her dagger and sheathed it to her boot, as she forced herself to her. Gripping at her bow a moment she grabbed another arrow and nocked it, before scanning the room she was in. Creepy equipment indeed. Then over to the door, cracking it and looking out a moment before kicking it open, bow ready to fire if need be. OKay, she could do this...it was just like the basement at home. Yes that's right. A swallow of her fear before she edged out the room and started down a random direction..figured heading down was best, seeing as that was the implied direction of Dimitri. Besides, heading up seemed to warrant more attack force. Kieran and Malik both felt a bit distant.

The doe tapped the drow on the shoulder that she was leaning aginst, pointing to the door half in shadows across the room. Yeah, she knew where the door was. She knew where a few things were. Like the pens, the testing rooms, the birthing rooms, the breeding rooms. They weren't too far underground yet, so the popssiblitiy of running into things was large, but at elast they would enver backtrack, they just had to look at the dead body trail.

Catawa nodded. "The gasses outside take care of any type of organic army that would come this way. Plenty of dead and souless in the upper chambers before gettign to hungry ecperiments down here." She shrugged. "An army would not fair so well as a few skilled people."

Raziel stretched his wings a bit. "A little compressed, but otherwise fine." He gave a wave to Catawa. Of course, he had heard them speaking, so he didn't relaly need to ask about it. "This place is kind of familiar." He told Keiren.

The door opened on rough hinges, squeaking a bit. She had a clear view of the door, even with her head hanging as it was. She didn't have the strength to lift it up. Nor did she care to. The drow was a follower of Lloth, so the relics would have no effect on him of course, although he sohuld recognize their significance.

"Who are you?" She asked with a voice slightly above a whipser.

The drow looked about, noting the relics. "I am me." He replied, "Are you you?" He knelt down for a moment, and pulled a strange vail from his belt, and consumed the liquid. It would take a moment and some conentration to let it do its work. "If you really do see the future, then you know who I am; for long ago you would have seen my dagger in your breast, beside my son and student."

After allowing the potion to take hold of him, the Drow used his hands to feel the auras of the relics, "I guess you could say, I am here not to fufill that promise."

Oh good, the little bundle she'd somehow gotten saddled with knew where she was going. That was a very good thing. She shifted the little doe in her arms, though she wasn't heavy at all, a little lighter than a small child and headed towards the shadowy area that she'd pointed too. Violet eyes swept the room once again and uneasy feeling settled in the pit of her stomach. Something was still going to go wrong. Dimitri wouldn't make things this easy. But she was determined to get to that door drow instincts at the ready, sensitive ears listening for any movement anywhere. "Thank you." she said as an afterthought to the doe she carried.

He had figured the air more hospitable during his skirmish with the feline, seeing as it had knocked his mask when they had been entangled, yet the air really didn't bother him. Which meant he reached to the now damaged mask and pulled it off, tucking it in his surcoat. He pulled and put a lot of things in there didn't he? "I'm beginning to see that."

But his attention turned back to the faerie in his palm. "I think I find it worrisome that you would recognize this place Raziel, for that means that you've been here." Which was disturbing...but could be useful.

Oh good it was quiet thus far. Though the eerie scary kind of quiet, her ears easily picking up the sound of her own ragged breathing. Slowly she made her way down corridors, taking stairs or drops when she found then, trying to work her way down and be as inconspicious as possible. Hopefully things weren't too attracted to blood.

"Dimitri does have an ego." She continued to lead them, although it was soon quite aparent that soemtihng large had died very recently. The stench reached them long beofre they would ever see it's carcass.

Raziel shrugged. "I can't say that it's been here exactly, but a place that looked an awful lot like this."

Toharu kept an eye out for where they were going, in case they needed to find their way back. Why, she didn't know. She didn't like ti here though.

Zaharah and the doe ended up running from many things, some monsters that looked something like what they had already tried to kill, some not looking like anyone they would recognized at all. Soon though, the doe became lost, and couldn't point the way anymore. She hadn't traveled alot, being in a select number of rooms, most of the the testing areas.

If Piper was careful, she would mostly be in the clear. Most things were either above her level (thus, why the creature had draged her down this far, to eat her in peace) or they were lab coats who happened to be busy in other areas. One room that Piper chanced apon was dark, glowing, and seemed to be frequented. It was filled with tall tubes, each connected at the base by some mechanical device, the insides filled with green liquid. Some two dozen filled this room, and in each floated children in various stages of growth. They all had black or red hair, and each seemed very familiar.

"Jarlaxle." She did not bother to watch what he was doing. "What? Has Dimitri gotten board of using Tarathiel's face?" The most she had said in several days. Before, such a comment would have gotten her beaten, for reasons she didn't understand. She no longer cared, anything she uttered warrented a beating.

"Let us not think on the present or the future."

Jarlaxle quickly collected all the relics, and placed them into the same bag, which was no bigger than his hand.

A daggers flung across the room, and severed the chains that held the woman in place, and his body caughte her before gravity could take her to the ground. The drow quickly wrapped a blanket around her with one arm, and forced fead her a potion with the other. The elixer was a healing potion, designed to keep her alive an mend any open wounds. IT could not fully restore broken bones, but at least she wouldn't have to worry about bleeding to death. Even if she was not cut or damaged in that way, the potion would have a pleasent taste, especially to her. It was made with Tarathiel's hair after all.

"I am going to carry you, but your body will be tied to mine." The drow wraped a thin silk rope around Meilikki to hold the blanket on her, then he turned so that she lay on his back. He stood up, and ste slide slightly down his back, until her arms were pulled up and over his shoulders. Another rope went around the woman, and then again, and again until she was sucurely harnessed to his back. He then tied her arms to his chest, and her legs to his mid-section. "I have no time for complaints, be quiet and we shall evacuate here as soon as we can." The drow exited the room, and walked into the area where the guardian beast lay dead.

"Your discomfort does not interest me, nor does your pride or any other silly emotion you may have. You may trust that your abilities will ensure your survival." The drow said in a stern voice. After a few more steps, Jarlaxle placed a thread with a piece of bone around her neck. "You are too useful to let die now." His arms droped to his sides, and then hooked around to lift Meilikki to relieve the strain on her arms. "Unfortunately for you, the white mage is on another floor."

"He does now, does he? Then again I think I half expect it...what with how this place is turning in nature. Eerie extravagance...well as extravagant as was expected of a lich. Though smell of things unhuman hit his nose and he didn't like it. A spec of foul play in a reasonably thus far 'pleasant' walk.

Another look to Raziel, before he let the fearie to his shoulder, letting his now free hand now tenatively touch at the gash in his cheek. Yeah that was going to be irritating as hell till he could do something about it. "Even close to this is too close for comfort." He let his eyes scan his surroundings, gold in his eyes shining in the dark atmosphere.

The room did happen to catch her attention, unfortunately. And she had to stop and sneak a look at it all. She remembered this, and knew what it was. Malik once hand such things in his own manor back on the plane they originally crossed paths on. Cloning. And from the looks...Meilikki and Roarke. Oh that was bad...couldn't let that happen. So...let's have a moment of boldness. Stealing into the room, she inspected things. Run on electricity...that was easy to fix. A bit of fiddling around the base of one and machinery sparked. Of course when you cause sparks you cause attention and that was her cue to get up and go...but not before grabbing an arrow, setting it aflame and shooting it into the bit she had already tore up. Yay electric and fire accidents. But of course that moment of boldness was fleeting and she was tearing out of the room at a breakneck place, quite uncaring of direction, just observant enough to keep a downward path.

Zahara glanced around as they circled the very same corridor for the fifth time. She was walking in circles and the doe was steadily getting heavier, though not so heavy as to force her to not be able to carry her anymore. She glanced around, breathing slightly heavily from the exertion of running from what seemed to be quite a few creepy things that liked to sneak up on her randomly. Where in the name of Lloth's hell was she? And just how was she going to get back to where she needed to be. "Dammit..." she cursed as they once again moved into an area they'd already been.
PostPosted: Thu May 11, 2006 3:30 pm

As soon as the relics were stored in a place where their influnce could not reach Meilikki, her blindness returned, as well as the visions. Granted, they were much too confusing, random, and blurred to make out.

Her muscles were stiff and weak from being held in one position for so long, but aside from the accasional groan, she kept as quiet as possible. not because she feered some reprimand from this man, but more because she had discovered that crying out seemed to give people pleasure.

She was used to potions being forced on her, though not any that healed her, she swallowed it gratefully. Still, she lay against Jarlaxle's back, saying little, not actually beilieving that any of this was happening.

He had played with her before. She was sure he was doing it again.

The doe sniffed, starting to get a little wepy. She wanted to go back to her pen, to her warm tank. At elast tehre she could dream, and be away from this frightening world.

Catawa thrust a hand out to Kieran. "I can here someone comming." Grabbing the elf, she pulled him into a nearby room, keeping the door open a crack to see who it was. She was shaking slightly. "He's kind of ticked, I would imagine."

Dimitri walked past the room that one of his cretions hide behind, neverminding her for the moment. This was getting troublesome. Perhaps he should just kill them all himself.

Jalaxle was found without any trouble. "You'll have to put my property back, I'm a fraid." Being mockingly polite.

His voice again. She sighed. She knew it wouldn't go anywhere.

A blue glowing rod was shoved into Piper's solar plexas, driving the wind from her lungs and doubling her over. "You know, smashing other people's things is not very nice. Now I have two dozen bodies to replace." Right Hand tapped the rod in his palm. "But maybe first I'll have a bit of fun."

He stopped at the hand motion, stumbling slightly as he was pulled into a room to avoid what Catawa wanted to avoid. "Any idea what or who it is?" Though he was shushed with another motion and merely kept quiet, looking over Catawa's shoulder through the crack in the door, though a moment of studying her, she was shaking.

Being himself he raised a hand and resting it on Catawa's shoulder before taking back to looking through the cracked door. His eyes widened a moment, wait was that...though he waited till it passed, whispering to Catawa. "Was that who I think it was?"

A harsh sound as the air was forced out of her on impact and she doubled and dropped to the floor, dropping her bow in the process as her body instinctively curled inward, her arms around herself as if it would as she gasped for ragged breaths through the mask she still wore. Eyes that had closed in pain opened to look up. Oh great it was the guy with glasses. A cough, trying to get words to come up, but not managing any. "Malik...Kieran..." Her mind taking quick survival advantages, though it would probably do little to help. Couldn't tell how far she was from them, which means mental calls could even be reduced to faint whispers that would turn to nothing. Getting hit in the pit of your stomach really took quite a bit out of you. So she settled for a glare at him, gold flicking dangerously in her eyes at him. Wounded people were dangerous, they knew they could survive.
