I was talking more on the Automech that vahn was talking about for the steam powered.
And I saw someone somewhere was looking at something like an ironman suit. But it's not a need.

It'd be a bit harder to blow up the steam golem because it's about using a lot of little vents for an internal boiler, not one big vent or an external boiler, but that's certainly what you'd want to do. You'd just either have to be creative or use artillery or bombing of some sort because... well...
I don't think I need to explain why something surrounding itself in a cloud of scalding steam, made of thick metal plates, large enough to step on you would be a bad thing to try and run right up to strap dynamite onto.
And I'm debating whether we're looking at some sort of intelligent machine, distantly controlled, or adding on some kind of cockpit shielded from the steam, but these things are going to be clumsy no matter what- they're supposed to be clumsy, hulking giants. They don't need to be able to do much more than take steps, turn, and wing their arms around. I'm reserving decisions on if I plan to use them, designs on how they'd work in this world, and so forth, until I actually see the place we're talking about and get to start figuring out if there'd even be an organization that it would be within my power to say was capable of fielding one or more of them. Though even then, we're talking about something that's meant for sieges or breaking lines in a fullscale battle, not for griefing your characters or standing guard somewhere.

This is only slightly related to the current topic, but it's just a quick query.
Steampunk means industrial age tech, so could somebody clarify for me the following:
If one were to use multiple automatons, would it be possible to control them all via one "switch" or control? I mean, say your automatons are small, about 3/4 the size of humans, I'm guessing that the means by which control would be implemented would even in the smallest of creations be limited to a single bot/controller relationship instead of a multiple bot/controller relationship.
So in summary, would a person with control over automatons be able to control more than one at a time?

As far as I know, that'd be doable, Somhairlie, as long as you can physically connect into your automatons. No remote controls.
