I'm a male fire person I bet I can handle a rant or three. razz

Silly fire people, never know when they have lost...

4 elements, fire earth etc.

Each element is associated with a set list of personality traits.
People who have abundence of these traits fall into one of the four categories.

It is useful to know which category someone fall under, then you can manipulatethem with ease by feedig the fire, going around the earth, boiling the water or stoping the wind. etc.

Each element has more to do with a 'feel' or emotional state than any actual words. A water person flows, be it calm or stormy seas. A wind person is similar, but lighter and more able to switch between one direction and the next, less effcted by the "moon cycles"
Earth people are stuborn as rocks, don't liek to move or change, very conservitive, or adapt to a single partern of behaviour... earth is earth and nothing else.
Fire people can best be described as passionate.

Martial arts applications, as each fighting style also fall under these same elements. The true master tries to achieve "void", or the presence of all these things.

Seems on the elemental table, im something like clay. Earth and water. Or maybe my name is just mud. sweatdrop

Only one element can be applied at any given time. Your state of 'clay' is probably the result of "lawful"ness, as both earth and water are the more lawful of the elements, as apposed to the chaos of the other two. Not to be confused with law/chaos conflict, its just trying to describ the feeling of the element.

I have both water and wind personalities, where over the last few years wind has taken dominace over my more watery self. Learning how to pucnh and kick turned my temperment from water to wind. The water is still there, I just have more frequent windy days.

Well, the clay thing was a joke really. But I dont believe in such generalized categories personally, it puts too many people into a single description, and if I know anything about people, its that they dont fit into perfectly made holes.

Think square hole, dodecahedral peg.

You would be surprised as to how effetive the system works.

It might seem like you are making all of humanity into four groups, but when it is anylised and developed, everyone does fall under these four catagories. They are larger than you think. It seems very arrogant to say that all people are one of these four, but truthfully, as I pointed out earlier, you might be in two (plus) categories but one is always dominate over the other(s).

You can't make over gernarlizations like, "All fire people are aggressive." though aggression is a part of the fire mentality, it is not the only way to express fire. Fire can be anything that remotely involves passion. Love can be a very fiery, but not all fire people are emotional in that way...

Its a feeling more than anything else. Apathy falls under earth. so even unfeeling is one of the elements.

The statement I guess, should be "All feels are one of Four elements."

*sees she's been smacked over three hours ago* sweatdrop

And thank you everyone for telling everyone else about my ranting! IT's not like I do it all the time...just when I'm really upset. And if you don't want me ranting to you then don't talk to me anymore! And need I remind all of you that YOU have ranted to me a time or two? *continues on her rant* And to finish up I do not rant! So there...

Well, despite how much it sounds truthful, it is still possible to have a sort of balance between them. That 'void' you mentioned comes from unifying all the different forces that work to unravel each other.

Consequently, its possible to really find a place where no one element is dominant but rather two or more at the same time. Even opposing elements can, though they usually result in very well balanced effects.

In truth, I have my fire and wind moments as well. But towards the total average across my entire life thus far, both water and earth tend to surface more than the others and are almost equal in amount.

Just saying that while one most likely has ONE dominant at a specific time, it doesnt mean that the other elements dont exist within you at the same time.

I like to think of my facets of personality (and many more things, along with such things as biorythym) as standing wave patterns, they each cycle through various heights, and not all of them follow the same wavelength so one is almost always higher than the others. But once in a while, you get points where two or elements are matched at their peaks, creating more varied situations.

Rant complete, did much of that make sense?

Nailah: I like people who rant, life more fun with them.

John: yes. That is ture, where you have two elements equalling out is when a semi-state of Void, or the posibility of being both at any moment, a state of readiness, of sorts.
