Isaac Cramoisin OoC: ..... xd Meh, I just do it 'cause I can't stand the way noobs speak, and it's how formal writing is done; why be lazy on Gaia when you're not for papers and such. Plus, I really think it looks tacky using chat-speak; it reflects back upon you in a manner showing one as being either too dense or too stubborn to use the language they have learned of since birth in its proper form. 3nodding I officially love you now heart But remember not everyone has learnt English since birth though wink

*ruffles Jonath's hair* OoC: .....Well, if they're speaking on here, they should speak it fluently; people who fail to speak fluent English tend to get ripped off and spoken to on a level equal to that of a five-year-old on basis by Americans due to the simple fact that our nationality is a greedy bunch of whores. -Shrugs.- Of course, everyone knew that; Americans have always been a rather pitiful but surprisingly strong entity.

I dare say, old chap, that despite your apparent disdain for the so-called 'chatspeak', I've yet to notice a single incidence of yon "OoC:" in absence at its glorified position upon yonder postings.
Verily.

Jonath Nell And remeber some people can't help it, they may have learning disabilitys. OoC: .....As for that, I've heard rumors told that rather unknown--as in not mainstream--scientists have proven that children diagnosed at birth with mental disabilities, through mental nurturing as a child, can overcome such disadvantages and join in with the normal masses in their lives as students.

One should speak to the best of one's ability; to demand fluency, at least in my definision of the term, in English is not fair.
*now officially feels scared that Isaac won't find her English satisfactory and thus shuts up, throwing a playmouse at Jonath for his entertainment*

Verily. OoC: .....Chat-speak is a fairly commonly used abbreviation for 'Out of Character' amongst role-players; I am speaking of things such as '4' for 'for', 'r' for 'are', 'u' for 'you', et cetera et cetera.

I am only saying, fluency in any language that one studies is a rather well-placed goal to achieve.

@Isaac: What about those people who have already passed the age at which learning languages are easy?

Jonath Nell *plays with the mouse, batting it around the room* @Isaac: What about those people who have already passed the age at which learning languages are easy? OoC: .....Study harder? Of course, if they still face mental disabilities, then there is nothing but hard, hard work they must set themselves upon so that they may hopefully, one day, work past their disability, even though it slims with age; when one is young, it has been proven that activities are much more readily learned by an individual due to the higher range of activity the brain goes through, but as age of the said individual increases, the brain's activity slows. Thus, when you are younger, more and more pathways for stored information can be more easily created than when you reach adolescence or beyond.
