Apparently being a spectator to a high school dance was quite dangerous. Shaheen had moved to the side of the dance floor, arms crossing under her chest once more as she watched the various goings on, moving ever closer to the DJ booth and the boy that was now manning it once more. She hadn't gotten a proper chance to speak with him just yet, because the boy had run off when she had been distracted with a late arriving executioner who had named her his date for the evening...and now had not yet come inside from their little battle with the Santitanator. She shrugged it off. He probably just needed time to compose himself after acting like a complete love stricken fool. A small smile twitched up the corners of her lips as she remembered it. Oh yes, she planned on never letting him live that down. His proclamation of her in front of everybody was something she would bring up in conversation for many years to come. Lost in these thoughts, she didn't even notice when a famine woman was sent flying towards her, or the fact that it was her dear friend Thrain that had sent her in that direction. All she knew was that one second, she was standing up right, the next, she was stumbling back, her eyes widening in surprise and her wings snapping open behind her, likely whacking a few passerbys in the face. Coming to a halt, she found herself bent down.....and then something was touching her butt, a feeling she knew all too well and reminded her all too much of a time in a dreamland that she'd sooner rather forget. Straightening up with haste, cheeks flushing red beneath their dark tan, she turned so that she was sideways between her two assailants, and glared first at one and then the other. "Watch it!" Was first snapped at Saiyuri, the woman that had run right into her, before she leveled her burning gaze on Uttam, another that she had never met before, though his murmured apology indicated that what he had done was an accident, and his face showed no signs of feigned innocence to hide behind. "You best be." She snarled in response, for all intents and purposes highly resembling the lion she had dressed as for the evening. AyeAvast And just because you are to blame for half of this

[Enter] Hel was sorry, Bella…but luckily she managed to not put on the dress backwards or inside out without you. She also kept her hair simple too. Hel also did not burn Mac’s old prom clothes as suggested, and instead folded them and left them on her bed to be dealt with at another time. Coming back into the Big Tent, the wingless valkyrie made a bee line for where she had left the two reapers, raising a hand in greeting once she was close enough. “Alright, I return!” She announced, and then furrowed her brows, looking at Mac. “What did you sign us up for?” She had vaguely heard something about sign ups on the way out…

Friend with the boat?
"Mac, yes, short for something, no." You couldn't get Mac from his real name, and of course he wasn't going to tell this bodacious babe what that was. The only reason Hel knew was because she was a total sneak and creeped his mail. "I've known her for a couple years now I think, and I tend to stay in my room or hers, so...that'd explain a lot." He hummed, tilting his head at her next question.
Anyone special in his life...?
As if on cue, Hel returned to them, dressed to the nines.
"...Nope." He murmured unconvincingly to Belladonna, and then turned to make a very loud, appreciative whistle at the Valkyrie. "Damn, ghoul. When you try, you try." The Reaper teased, reaching out to grab her hand and drag her off to the dance floor. "A dance, stupid. Come on~"
Apparently, her dress was very distracting....Quote: We're ready to swing! Lead: Mac Lead's Roll: 3 Partner: Hel Partner's Roll:

Dancing out on the floor was much better than dancing in the mirror, even better was the fact that the music was pretty awesome and her dance partner was pretty good if not better than she was. This was so much better than just being at home every day hanging out with her siblings playing tricks on others because she was bored. Once in a while she would set something on fire to hear her mother come running and panic over it just for fun. When Ahm paid her a compliment she grinned probably one of the largest grins she had all night. She had only assumed her dancing was good, or at least it looked pretty awesome in the mirror and looked like it was suppose to when dancing but him saying so made it even more worth all the hours and the embarrassing jabs from her siblings. She did a couple of fancy little grooving moves that she had saved for later in the dance. “Thank you! Your pretty good moves yourself. Is this your first prom?” She asked unsure if he had made it last year or if there were any other sort of dances the school had.

Yessssss. The singing had worked. Flawlessly, if he did say so himself.
But now, who was this walking icicle kissing Xiu's hand? Frankly, Lou wasn't the jealous type, but he was curious. "Oh, I ask you for a dance and you give me the cold shoulder, but blue man group over here kisses your hand and all you do is blush. Mm. I see. Playing favorites, hot lips." The boil teased mercilessly before looking the new arrival over.
He had very obviously opened his mouth to say something offensive, but he caught the glance Xiu shot him out of the corner of his eye. Lou closed his mouth, just for a moment. The very act of doing so confused him because there was not a moment that went by when he wasn't speaking his mind. He didn't like this. He didn't know how to cope with not saying something...
The vampire stood there and pondered this conundrum, zoning out as people continued on their exchange without him like he wasn't even there.

Hel just grinned widely, and even did a little twirl for show, until she was yanked to the floor. “Signed us up for a dance?” Oh…a contest apparently, sweet! “I will be right back, Bells!” … Hel snorted, amused. “Are you even trying?” She asked the boil. He let his hands be raised as she spun around him and met at his side, hip to hip as he smiled to her, impressed. The fact she took off her shoes did make him a tad nervous, as hooves on bare feet was not something he wanted to do. Still, she took that risk and he would meet the challenge of not crushing any digits.
He leaned again to talk into one lobe. "I'll take whatever I can get and whatever you'll give." He told her, and turned her wrist to spin her again, letting the other hand rest on one of her hips so he could feel her in his palm when she turned.

He was certainly trying very hard! Na'ima raised a brow at the young Stallion's persistence. "Then you shall give and receive nothing, young one," she told him with a soft chuckle and a shake of her head, the coins on her headdress clinking together with the movement. "Only a dance. You are far too young, Calder. I am probably old enough to have raised you from birth."
The horsewoman turned easily, her hand catching his shoulder to stop once she felt she had spun enough. She didn't even sway with dizziness. "So tell me about yourself, Calder. You have no clan, why is that?" Na'ima was grateful for all of Famine who was still alive, she could not imagine what kind of grief she would be unable to contain should she have lost her entire clan. She shook her head again at the thought. No, she was not going to concern herself with such thoughts, there was no point in considering what ifs that would never happen.

Freya screamed as she pulled Kettil out on the dance floor. Yes, they'd just come from whatever had just happened in the scarousel. No, that hadn't changed her easy excitement over the smallest thing.
"DANCE DANCE DANCE oh my gods, Hooter, Hel is entering.. we has teh smokes her."
So she led him on the dance floor, and strutted her.. feathers.

Ahm took Kieran's hand, pulled her to him and then led her into one of those fun spin-in, spin-out moves that always look so cool when a ghoul's dress spun around her (at least then did in the movies and on boo-tube), after which he winked at her. "Having a cute ghoul makes it that much better." The Grue held onto her just a moment longer than was necessary, just because he wanted to be touching her longer; Kier's hands were so dainty compared to his! "Yep, first Prom. First dance here at Amityville Academy, actually." Another wink, "It's a night for firsts, wouldn't you say?"

Kettil might as well have been drunk cause he was stumbling. A lot. It made it hard for him to get in the groove of the competition, making Freya carry the weight of himself and her.
He was still smiling but he had a sort of a blank and confused look on his face.
Was he doing it right?

Helmut waved to Mot and Hel as they left to go dance in the competition, leaving her quite alone. She wandered back to the food table to nibble on some sliced meats. She watched everyone else mill about to a song she had never heard before, and as she scanned the crowd she spotted him, along with a pair of probably older (definitely larger than her, at the very least) students.
She waved her fingers at him, keeping her distance and not interrupting for now, content to nibble on the purple chili fries and pieces of brain salad.

We're ready to swing! Lead: Gabby Partner: Efflo
Returning to the prom after an attempt at being ingested by a giant santa clause gnome was difficult. Gabby just wanted to go back to his dorm, take several showers, wash his suit five times, press it, and then send it off to have it professionally cleaned. That was what he wanted, but instead, still a little damp from being inside of a stomach, he returned to prom. It was a testament to how much he loved the boil in his arms, that he was back here at all.
"I feel absolutely disgusting." He growled; he might be there, but he wasn't nice enough to act like he was happy about it.
A contest was going on the moment they walked in, and Gabby's spirit of competition burned a flame bright enough to warm his icy attitude. He took Efflo's hand, led him out onto the dance floor; some corner of it, at least. And he twirled the boil gently.

For once, Efflo wasn't the grumpy one. He trotted in, looking positively gleeful and smelling like a walking candy store. Efflo, like Gabby, was still a little wet from a temporary ingestion, but unlike the dragon, it didn't seem to dampen his spirits. "You are absolutely disgusting," he giggled. "We'll have to wash you five times over when we get home." The contest immediately caught Gabby's eye, and though normally Efflo would protest, this time he happily followed the boil to the dance floor and even did his best not to screw up the twirl. There was nothing wrong with what Saiyuri chose to wear, it was just very, vastly different from the intense amount of layers Thrain typically preferred. Sometimes the impediment of movement meant not freezing, but then again, Famine was quite the opposite to Death. He continued to grin at her nonetheless, for she continued to provide a deep sense of excitement about her, an emotion he had certainly missed in the past few months. Perhaps that was why he had been oh so enthusiastic about spinning her to the point he had her sailing off, crashing into wayward people. The Horseman laughed all the way over to where he'd accidentally tossed her, his laugh dropping off when he realized who exactly it was he'd accidentally hit. "Shaheen! Are you trying to steal my date, for shame!" A joke was honestly the only way Thrain knew how to deal with accidentally slamming a Famine lady into Shaheen. Whoops... The Horseman brought the filly back to a more steady standing position, smiling down at her before he turned the smile back to Shaheen. "How frightening you are with such a large mane and a loud snarl! Did your bear leave you all alone again?" Bumbling straight to the point, good job Thrain.
