Victoria listened to him and when he told her that she could come with, she smiled at him and sat down beside him carefully, keeping a few inches between them. She took a deep breath and shrugged, not noticing the crack in the ceiling. "Whatever I can do to help, Dante, I will do. So I would love to come with you wherever you will allow me to." She kept her face happy for him as she glanced around, anywhere but his eyes. "Are you..okay now? What did the Hospital say?" She was mostly worried, but curious too to see if he was getting any better.

Dante sighed after he heard the question. "Slight improvement I guess. If there aren't any big changes in a week then they're admitting me." Dante inhaled deeply and let it out slowly. He decided to no long talk about it, but change the subject instead, since he didn't want to accept the fact. He checked his watch to see how much longer until he had to be at his house. It was only eleven in the morning, which was early for Dante, so he had to find something to do until two. "How do you feel about hanging out at the lake today?" Dante asked Victoria. It was nice out and he wanted to hang outside and do something.

Victoria winced when he said that they would admit him if he didn't improve soon. She wanted to say, You need to work on not drinking, then, but had a feeling he would just be irritated and walk out on her, and she could tell he didn't want to talk about it further anymore anyway. She left it alone, and her eyes lit up when he mentioned the lake. That was where they had met in the first place. She nodded eagerly, her face happy. But it instantly fell. "I don't have enough to feed the birds.." She bit her lip, and got up, trying to search the house for loose change. She came up empty, except for a nickel, and she knew that wasn't nearly enough to feed them bread. She sighed. "Forget it. I'm ready." She forced him a smile and went to the door, after slipping her worn out sandals on to go with her dress. She waited for him at the door, hopping around, her excitement coming back.

Dante stood up and head towards the door. He took out his phone and sent a quick message to Xavier. He told him to get the crew together and go to the lake. He put his phone away and headed out the door with Victoria. His car was close to the building so he didn't have to search for it. He unlocked the car and got inside, this time not opening the door for Victoria like usual, but instead starting it up and waited for her to get in. He rolled down his window using the manual handle and reached over to roll down Victoria's. He had to reach across Victoria to open it and apologized after he sat back in his seat. He turned the radio on and kept it quiet. He looked over at Victoria and smiled. "You can choose the music this time. Oh and don't forget to buckle up." Dante didn't move the car until he was sure Victoria was situated and buckled in.

Victoria followed him out into the parking lot and didn't mind when he didn't open the door for her. She opened it herself, a happy smile on her face as she shut it and got buckled quickly. She wanted to get to the lake, and relax after so much stress. She blushed when he reached across her and rolled down the window on her side, and smiled when he apologized. "It's okay." She said sincerely, looking up and out the windshield. She nodded when he said to buckle, and she tightened her seat belt just in case. She waited for him to start driving, and when he did, she reached forward and hesitantly turned on the radio, turning down the volume just a bit, but leaving it on the station he had it on. "This is okay," She said quietly, not wanting to disappoint him with changing it. She had a feeling they had much different taste in music.

Dante started to drive. At first he pealed out like he does when he's driving alone, but he slowed down since Victoria was in the car. He listened to what was on the radio. It was some sort of heavy metal song that Victoria apparently "liked". He looked over at her and back to the road. "I think I know you well enough to know that this isn't your taste in music." Dante said with a small laugh. "Go ahead and change it. I don't care what you put on." Dante continued to drive slowly. He felt like he was an old person who barely went the speed limit. He hated driving slow but he knew he had to. He stopped at the red light in front of him. He looked over at the guy next to him who in return looked back. Dante nodded and the guy hesitantly nodded back. The light turned green and Dante started to drive again.

Victoria could feel him watching her and she finally met his gaze, turning red from embarrassment when he told her he knew her well enough to know that she didn't like the genre of music. She heard him laugh and she couldn't help a smile, deciding she loved it when he laughed. He had a contagious laugh, and she felt like being happy whenever he did. She sighed when he insisted she put it on something that she liked. "I don't really listen to music all that much," She said truthfully, shrugging. "So there is nothing on the radio that would appeal to me. This is fine, I promise." She said it firmly, hoping he wouldn't say anything more about it. It was okay with her what he was listening to, she just disliked when it was loud enough to hurt her ears. She watched him drive, and noticed that he was driving a bit uncomfortably. "Are you okay, Dante? You seem..tense." She asked, worried.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 08, 2012 4:22 pm

Dante shrugged. "Suit yourself." He shifted in his seat and kept his foot lightly off the gas peddle. He looked around him and made sure that he was obeying the speed limit accordingly. Victoria noticed that he was uncomfortable and asked him a question about it. He didn't really think that it was obvious but apparently it was. "Yeah. I'm not used to driving this perfect and slow. I'm usually more relaxed and going a whole lot faster." Dante turned the corner to go onto the street of the lake when a car pulled out in front of him. He immediately slammed on the brakes as he blared the horn. The car went past him and Dante gave him the finger in return. He started to drive away as he mumbled a few words that weren't pleasant. Dante's phone vibrated and he pulled into the gas station in order to check it. He read the message from Xavier and dialed his number.

Someone answered and the only thing that could be heard was Dante's part of the conversation.
"Yeah?"
"If you want. I don't plan on having any."
"Yeah, why?"
"Oh she is? That's good. What about everyone else?"
"Sounds good. Did you leave yet?"
"Great. Can you bring that thing I gave you the other night with you?"
"Thanks. I have something for you when you get to the lake too."
"I'll tell you when you get there. I'll be at the lake in about ten minutes."
"Yeah. See you then."

Dante hung up the phone and put it away. "Sorry about that Vicy." he said as he started to pull away. "I didn't want to drive and talk." he put on his turn signal and headed back along the road.

Victoria wanted to tell him that it was okay, that he could drive a bit faster as long as he watched it, but she felt her heart stop for a moment when a car pulled in front of them. She opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. She was trembling and closing her eyes, holding on to the seat. She missed him holding up the finger because of her fear, but she heard his horrible words. She turned to him sharply, but he missed her panicked and disappointed stare because he was worried about his cell phone instead. She heard it vibrate but she ignored it, and shook her head, tight-lipped and angry for a moment as she stared out the window. When he pulled into a gas station to check it, she was somewhat relieved. She was still shaken by the almost car crash that they had, and she didn't want another one happening because he was talking on the phone. She couldn't help but listen to their conversation, and she frowned to herself, confused by it. She wondered who was at the park, and instantly didn't feel happy anymore about going to the lake. She didn't tell him this, because it was better than hanging out at her apartment, alone. She sighed, staying silent when he apologized. She nodded her head but didn't do anything else, staring straight ahead.

They pulled into the parking lot of the lake and Dante slowly turned around the trees to the actually parking spaces. As he drove through the rather large parking area he could hear music playing and sounds of people having fun. He had a pretty good feeling that it was the crew and that they had started the fun without him. As pulled up to the rather large crowd of cars, he revved his engine a few times, and his crowd of friends looked back at him. They all started to wave and some started to yell to the others that he was there. Most of them had already had their hands gripped around a can or bottle of alcohol. Others were laughing and conversing. Kevin came up to the car as Dante was stepping out.

"I thought you were dying in the hospital?" he laughed as he gave Dante a hug.
"Yeah so did I. But I'm good now."
"Well then lets get you into the action." he said as he was leading Dante away. "Get this man a beer!" Kevin yelled to the guys.
Dante stopped and walked back towards Victoria. "Kev. I can't drink or else I will end up dying. I won't be drinking today." he said as he went to Victoria's side. He held out his hand off to the side for Victoria to grab. "Wanna meet everyone?" he asked her.

Victoria didn't notice the music at first, but sat rigid in her seat for a minute, until she noticed the amount of cars in the parking lot. Her panic took over once again, and fear set in once Dante started the engine a few times. She glanced over at him, anger in her eyes. She felt terrified. She didn't do well in crowds at all, and he hadn't told her that there would be a party going on. She tried to calm down, but it was difficult. She didn't feel any better once a guy came up to the car when Dante opened his door. She was paralyzed, and her eyes widened, afraid. She didn't like the guy especially when he yelled at the others that Dante needed a beer. She couldn't help smiling at Dante when he came back for her and shook his head at Kevin, signaling that he didn't want any. She was proud of him, but then felt like she was being his mother so she waited. She stared at his hand a moment, her emotions in overdrive. She finally took a deep breath and nodded, taking his head and pulling herself up and out of the car. She glanced at the crowd and winced, still petrified at the amount of people in there. "Dante, I'm not good at talking to people. At all." She emphasized the 'at all', hoping he got the message. She stared up at him, her eyes showing both fear and nervousness, her anger gone away.

Dante smiled at her showing his bright white smile. "Well you're good at talking to me, so that's all that matters." Dante gave Victoria a small kiss on the forehead. "Don't worry. You won't have to talk to anyone else if you don't want to." Dante noticed that she was a bit uneasy at first, but she started to get better. He rubbed her head with his thumb. He swung his and her arm slightly like in the movies and laughed a little bit as he lead her to the edge of the parking towards the lake. "Are you okay?" he asked her making she she was comfortable. He didn't want to place her in a situation that she didn't want to be in. "And please. Tell me the truth. I don't want to put you in an awkward situation." he smiled once again slightly showing his teeth. He began to see exactly who was there once they got closer. Most of which he knew but some people looked unfamiliar. He wasn't sure about them since he had never been around them. He wasn't prepared to question them to make sure they were okay to know about what the group did, but instead he thought about asking around to the others to see who they were.

Victoria began to loosen up when he flashed his wonderful smile at her, and she gave him a small, unsure one of her own. She took a deep breath and flushed bright scarlet when he kissed her lightly on the forehead. It hadn't been that bad to feel his lips on her skin, she noticed. She pushed the thought away out of embarrassment though, and tried to focus on what he was saying instead. She nodded, relieved when he mentioned that she didn't have to talk to others; it was her choice. She squeezed his hand gently, and glanced up, watching the other people there as well. She was slightly curious, but more than a little afraid still to see them. She glanced over at him, noticing him asking her if she was okay. Was it that bad, she wondered? She winced when he told her to speak the truth to him. She gave him a steady stare as she inhaled and exhaled slowly, keeping her eyes on his as she said quietly, "I'm okay, Dante. Really. Don't worry about me. You can.." She hesitated, not really wanting him to leave her, but not wanting him to feel like a puppy either, "You can go have fun. I think I'll stay here." She motioned to the shady tree they were passing, and she reluctantly let go of his hand, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, and a grin. "I'll be fine. Whatever you want to do, go ahead. I insist." She sat on the bench that had been put under the tree, and leaned back against it, her cautious eyes never leaving the people that were partying there.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:09 pm

Dante walked over to the bench. "I can't just let you sit alone." he said as he placed his hands on the wooden bench. He motioned to Kevin with a slight flick of the fingers. Kevin walked over to Dante's side and waited for him to speak. Dante had to stand on his toes to be able to whisper into Kevin's ear. After a few sentences, Kevin left and went over to the cooler. He grabbed a few items and went around and said a few words to the people. Kevin, and the crowd came back over, and began to have their fun more towards Dante and the bench. After grabbing the cans of pop from him, Dante gave one to Victoria. "Here. Just in case you get thirsty." Dante sat down next to Victoria and began pointing at different people and telling her about them. "You see that girl in the pink? That's Beth." he pointed to someone else. "That there is Ashley in the yellow and Kait in the red." He motioned a circle with his fingers. "All of them are good people. Maybe you could make friends with them. Everyone here is good in their own sense. They're great friends if you want them to be." Dante scanned the area and saw Xavier. "I'll be back. I gotta go talk to Xavier." he said as he stood up.

Dante manged his way through the crowd of people over to his friend.
"Xavier let's take a walk." Dante said as he grabbed him out of his conversation.
"You coulda waited ya know?" Xavier laughed.
"So do you have it?" Dante asked as they went into the crowd of friends.
"Yeah. Here it is. I cleaned it any everything. Should be spotless." Xavier said as he grabbed the gun out from under his jacket.
Dante slyly put it into his jacket that he had on. "Thanks. I have some money for you too. For your struggles lately and for taking care of things. Just stop by my place tomorrow. I'll send you the address." Dante said as he patted Xavier on the back. "Oh and who are those guys over there?" Dante pointed to a group of unfamiliar guys.
"Those are the Paco brothers. They're friends of David." Xavier said
"Are they legit? Or should I go over there?"
"Go check them out. I haven't talked to them yet." Xavier said.

Dante nodded and headed over to them.
"You three. Who brought you here?" Dante asked.
"David. Why? Aren't we allowed here?" the older one asked.
"Because I asked that's why. What makes you think you're good enough to be here?" Dante questioned him.
"Because we can walk the walk. Plus we're friends of David." he stood his ground.
"I see. Well David answers to me. Now since I didn't invite you, then you can leave." Dante snatched the cans out of their hands. "And give me my booze. Now get out." he said as he pushed the one away.

The older one stepped forward to take a swing at Dante. Dante moved to the side and hit him in the side of the face with one of the unopened cans that he got from the brother. The guy hit the ground and Kevin came over. "You don't waste time do you Dante." he said as he grabbed the boy. "No I don't. Now get him out of here. Make sure he doesn't call the cops either." Dante said as he headed over to David. "Don't bring your ******** friends again without me knowing." Dante said as he smacked him in the back of the head.

Dante walked back over to Victoria and sat down next to her. He watched as Kevin drug the guy by his collar around the trees and did something before making him leave. The guy's brothers quickly followed their brother and they disappeared. He looked over at Victoria and gave a reassuring smile. "They didn't belong here. Sorry you had to see that."

Victoria was surprised when he walked over to the bench and said he couldn't let her sit alone. She smiled at him gratefully, her eyes filled with some awe with a mix of friendly love for him. At least she thought it was friendly. She frowned when he motioned Kevin over though, and she scooted a bit away from the two, watching Kevin with wary, cautious eyes once again. She never let her guard down, until he left. She took a deep breath and watched Dante for a moment before scooting a few inches closer to him. She saw him get her a pop and she took it from him carefully, giving him a thank you with a bright smile. She opened it and glanced up when he began speaking, telling her about the people there. She tried to remember all of them, but she was soon getting them mixed up and frowned in frustration. She hadn't been around so many people in such a long time, and she was clearly out of it. She smiled when he said they were good people, but shook her head when he said she could make friends with them. "I don't make friends that easily." She shrugged, trying to keep the grin on her face, but it slipped a little with her true words. Victoria sighed, realizing she should at least try, for him. She was about to say okay to his suggestion, but she heard him say he would be back and she shrugged. "Alright," She said softly, but saw that he was already gone. She leaned forward and put her elbow on her knees, and her head in her hand. She watched him, seeing him hold a conversation with his guy friend longer than she had expected. He was obviously good at things like that. She felt envy but shoved it away, feeling guilty from such emotions. She closed her eyes for a minute, tired. When she reopened them, it must not have been that long because Dante had just started to head over to a different guy, who he hadn't talked about. She gasped when they talked for a bit, and Dante suddenly hurt one of them. When he came back over, he looked sorry. When he sat down, she glanced at him in shock and fear. "Why did you do that? He was doing nothing wrong!" She really hadn't wanted to see it, he was right, and she felt ashamed to be seen with him for a moment. But she shoved it away once again, leaning back on the bench. She stared at him a moment with a frown. "It's a park, Dante. Everyone is welcome here. It's like a dog saying that cats are not welcome, because it's a cat."
