Kaegan and his Ceta were talking quietly, nearby. His beta wasn't far off. It was a conspicuous gathering of denzien elite, one that Isiah would have pegged as trouble- and did as he walked up to the group, standing three yards off, tense. He wanted to call out, to warn- but he wasn't sure why. Just a general sense of foreboding.
Conversation stopped once Q entered the picture. Kaegan unfolded his arms, eyes locking on Q, focusing. Isiah recognized it. "Q-!"
Whether or not he reacted, Kaegan came for K- a size thirteen boot planted firmly in his gut in a split second, forcing him to regurgitate whatever it was he'd eaten. "Need something to drink after your MEAL, you ingrate!?"
Lex and the Beta stood behind Kaegan, ready to strike if need be. Isiah jogged up, kneeling beside Q. "What the hell is your problem, Kaegan?!"
Kaegan looked back to his beta- the larger man walked up to him and picked up Isiah by the neck with both hands, tossing him aside. Isiah landed on his back with a whoof as his breath left him, denziens gathering. "Stay out of this, boy," he hissed.
Kaegan grabbed Q by the hair, lifting him up. "Did you think I wasn't going to find out, you little cheat? Your first punishment wasn't enough? You think your survival is more important than someone who can survive in the daylight?"

Bornes should've seen it coming. He should've. He heard them talking, but he paid it no heed, lost in his own thoughts, and the next thing he knew, he was on the ground, lucky he could even turn himself on his side as he gripped his gut in searing pain and regurgitating the fish he had eaten only hours a go.
If he had the inclination to, he could've looked at their still intact, beady eyes staring at him from the mound of stomach acid and whatever else was in his stomach at the time. Little high pitched voices typical of talking fish whining about why the hybrid had committed such a horrible sin as to eat them. They were having so much fun in their pressurized jar, but stupid Q had to ruin ther fun and digest them.
But he didn't have the inclination to look at his own barf. He was too busy coughing and hacking and would've cried out-- but it was cut off by Kaegan's yell and someone grabbing his hair and pulling him up and Isiah doing something but being told to knock it off.
It was all stumbling together into english incoherence. Bornes was sidetracked by the immense pain he was in. First his gut, now his head as his hair was being pulled, he was sure his ears would start throbbing in a moment with all the yelling, too.
As he was pulled up, Bornes struggled to get to his own feet-- his hair was a sensitive topic-- he didn't want it being pulled out. His feet were having trouble working however, being as his gut made him just want to hack up more food, even though there wasn't any left.
He wheezed and coughed at Kaegan in response to the Alpha, though it was probably better that way-- Bornes didn't have the will for words.

Kaegan waited for an answer and was furious when it didn't come. He threw him face down into dirt, resting his boot on the back of his head. "For disobeying your alpha, for hurting pack survival, and for lying," he barked, loud enough for the entire village to hear. "Two weeks with no food, no water, no shelter. If I see you within twenty feet of the grounds, I'll break you in half."
He punctuated 'break' with a stomp to Q's back- placed such to crush the sunglasses that were tucked into his shirt collar. "Effective immediately," he hissed. Kaegan's eyes cut to Isiah, warning him, before stepping off of Q, walking away as quickly as he'd come.
Isiah ran over to Q, lifting him up off of the ground tenderly. "Oh god," he whispered, voice shaking. "Are you all right?"

Bornes was thrown to the ground. He let out a grunt and his face throbbed. He couldn't even translate what was being said anymore, he was just trying to fight passing out while punishment was dealt. That would've made whatever the punishment was worse.
He called out when the boot went into his back, the human howl turning to a bestial growl once the realization overcame him that the crack was not his back, but his sunglasses breaking. Rather than overcome with intense worry like he should've been, it was anger.
He pushed himself up to his knees with the help of Isiah, and brought one leg up to get him ready to stand, his body positioned to sprint toward and attack the leader's back. The glasses had broken at the bridge, luckily, and fell to the ground out of his shirt into their two pieces as he got up.
But as he tried to make his break for it, he collapsed back onto the ground with another few coughs. He'd not understood what Isiah had said, and the angry growl still present in his throat, he tried to bring himself up again, gritting his teeth and pushing himself up several inches, only for his stupid hypotension problem to get the better of him.
He blacked out right next to his own puke, right with Isiah there. He wouldn't wake up for a full two minutes, no matter how much prying or slapping or whatever else was done to him.

Isiah winced as he watched Q stand, lunge and fail, jogging over to him- the whole two steps, to lift him up and away from his vomit, cradling him in his arms.
Kaegan looked behind him over his shoulder, not even flinching or stopping. "Immediately, Isiah," he hissed. "Twenty feet out minimum. And if I see you disobeying my order-" he let it trail off before walking away, his Ceta and Beta walking off behind him.
Isiah sighed, standing with Q in his arms. He picked up Q's pieces of sunglasses frmo the ground one handed, walking slowly toward the other end of town. He counted his paces out, setting Q back down, sitting down beside him to prop Q's head on his thigh, stroking his hair with a long sigh. "You just don't learn, do you..?"

Two minutes passed. Bornes was outside the outskirts of town. In Isiah's lap. It was still dark. Maybe one hour of darkness left. There was a disgusting taste of vomit in his mouth, and an even worse pain in his gut.
Those were the first things Bornes noticed when he opened his eyes, tail lazily slapping against the ground once as he clutched his gut in a ********. ********. Try to remember, Bornes. Got back from shelter. Something kicked him, he threw up.... ******** happened?" he finally hoarsed, afraid to get up and still clutching at his gut, as if that would somehow make the feeling of wanting to vomit again go away.

Isiah sighed, stroking Q's hair gently. "Kaegan caught your hand in the cookie jar," he offered, quietly, with a slight tone of annoyance in his voice. "Again." He knew that Q continually risked their safety here- but there was no use in crying over spilt milk. "You're banished without food and water for two weeks. This is as close as you can get to camp."
He turned his head up, sighing. "I'm not sure what we're going to do, now."

"What?" Isiah had to be joking him. Cookie jar? Again?
He changed gears in his head. "Nobody can live without water and food for two weeks. I'll die without water in..." He breathed hard through his mouth. "Five days?"
He began to panic almost, not fully recovering from his blackout. It would probably be hours before he did. Digesting, then throwing it all up. That was a lot of blood flow going too many places that weren't the brain.
"What?" He repeated, dumbstruck. "No shelter?" He would've gotten up and looked at Isiah at this point, but he only had to twitch to realize he didn't want to move from where he was. Save his gut. Whoever kicked his gut was... Well, it was probbaly Kaegan. And there was no surprise in that sort of strength, then.
Ow. ******** Gut.
He brought his right hand to his collar, feeling for his sunglasses. His tail began to twitch. "Where are my sunglasses?"

"Then obviously we have to find you another form of shelter and another source of food," he began, quietly and sensibly as he if he were speaking to a young child. He wasn't sure exactly what they would do, where they would go.. where to start...
BUt this was not a time to panic. "We could start off come night fall. I'll try to sneak you some water but.. people will be watching. Your best bet will be to make it to the shelter you found the food in."

Bornes squeezed his eyes shut, gritting his teeth and biting bak a groan as he tried to adjust himself to sit up. He failed. On both counts.
He laid back down as he let out that groan.
"Where are my sunglasses?" he asked again. "Why are you here?"
That last question was because, well. As far as Bornes knew, Isiah had done nothing wrong. This was Bornes' punishment. And he probably deserved it. He wished he could remember what was said directly to him. Probably some insult to remember later. Bornes was pretty fond of learning new english insults.

Isiah grumbled to himself as he pulled out the two separate pieces of his glasses from his pocket, laying them down on his chest. "I'm here because I'm your friend, you d**k," he mumbled inwardly. "If you don't want my help I won't give it.. I just.. assumed you did."

Bornes held his breath and stared at the pieces. Just stared at them. If staring at them hard enough would magically put them back together, he would've accomplished it. Maybe ten full seconds passed.
He finally breathed out through his nose, an obviously frustrated response, but he was trying to calm himself. He grabbed the two pieces in his hand, then brought his other hand so each hand held one piece. He tried to push them together.
He should've been thankful that it was only two pieces, but he wasn't. He was holding his breath again, and his eyes began to tear up, as if were going to cry. He was silent for a long time, simply staring at the pieces of his ocular saving device in his hands. The look on his face was comparable to some sort of situation where the parent of a child had been holding that child, afflicted with cancer's hand.
And that kid, well it was only a matter of time, but the parent squeezed that hand anyway, hoping, praying that death just wouldn't happen. But it of course did, and of course the parent was sad, but it was also inevitable. So that sadness in his face was turned to a curious confusion of what to do now, what to think.
How to go on with life without that precious child to brighten your day.
"Thank you," finally said, letting out his held breath. It was soft, weak. His eyes searched the sky. Still darkness left. Maybe he could kill himself.
Too bad he had nothing to do it with.
He covered his glasses with his hands, turning to look at the empty expanse, his neck still on Isiah's leg, his blood pumping so he could hear it in his ears. He had a massive headache, but that paled in comparison to the pain in his gut, or the soreness in his neck, or the sorrow he felt for losing his handicap pass.
"I'm sorry I'm so stupid. At least I can pride myself that it took him a really long time to figure out it was me..." Still soft and weak. He was trying to convince himself that there was some reason to stay alive.

Isiah could hear the tone of disappointment, of failure, and of regret in Q's voice. It did not go unnoticed. He stood, gently, with Q in his arms. "Do you think you can tell me how to get there?" Meaning the bomb shelter.

Bornes closed his eyes as he was lifted, gritting his teeth and trying to put the pieces of the glasses in his pants pocket.
"Not when I'm blind. And We'll never get there before sunrise."
He tried to loosen up, but when he did, he just began shivering involuntarily.

Isiah groaned inwardly. He couldn't build him a shelter- it would be against all their laws. And he didn't know how much of a walk it would be back to the restaurant where they'd found their first food.. and beer.. delicious beer.
He jerked out of memory, sighing. "Are you going to be able to stand a whole day out in the sunlight?"
