Figures they give us a short sword. No cutlass, no broad sword, no katana, just a shortsword.

Nelo: Umm...don't know what to say, I'm not an artist. Would be neat if you could pull it off, though. I think it was Picts (somewhere in Britannia) who did the woad. But hey, it's the popular conception, right?
Cale: Well...that's not bad, but the ships in question, I'm sure the sizes range, but they're all based off of bulk haulers, not tramp frieghters. So, probably anywere from, eh, 100+ meters to, probably 1+ Km, right? Smaller than a Star Destroyer, at least sweatdrop . The warships are crammed with weapons, shields, equipment, etc, while the transports are rather more lightly armed (light shields, if anything, and mostly point defense blasters). But I think one of the things that makes commerce raiding a b***h, is that for these, most of the weapons have covers, making it hard to tell whether it's a transport or a warship.
Disadvantages... Large size; bigger targets, and less manuverable. And up against capships, the hulls are less durable, since they were designed for cargo, not war.
Umm...if you do manage to take a transport, it's a nice prize because of it's size and the fact that it'll be hauling a ton of cargo. Though, the crew may be ordered to destroy the cargo if the ship is captured (or hell, even self-destruct the ship, though that is a bit extreme). They'll probably be carrying droid/comp parts, or raw materials, since that's what Chidee is using most of.
How to take one...umm...perhaps you can take a transport if they have engine troubles and the rest of the convoy was in a rush, leaving them behind. I don't know, you're the lucky and daring outlaw. xd Even with that famous outlaw luck, I don't think you can take on a warship in a small sloop. And don't forget, they'll have a crapload of fighters (that Navy's main tool, actually). I think transports might carry some (not nearly as many as the warships, but still some; maybe a pair or two as opposed to 100+) as their own escorts.
So, yeah, I think your best bet is to pick off a lone straggler and hope it's not a warship...
Hmm...you getting any ideas?

Oh, those? They...eh, they're not what I think of when I think of when I think bulk hauler. I can't really picture them as a big cargo ship. Basically, I think of a giant (rectangularish, not cubical) box with rockets.

HereticX Oh, those? They...eh, they're not what I think of when I think of when I think bulk hauler. I can't really picture them as any kind of a cargo ship. Basically, I think of a giant (rectangularish, not cubical) box with rockets. Few are designed that way. Very stressful on the spaceframe...

Horesch-Kessel Drives Is a starship company, makers of such ships as the R-41 starchaser, the Delaya class Courier, and many of the Battleships of the CIS. The Ships I'm talking about are the Standard Trade Federation battleships/super freighters first seen in TPM
