Ta Lu I...went to work and my Boss told me, we didn't make enough last week and so I'm not getting paid. D: Illegal in most cases. I would confront my boss first and tell him/her that you do not work for free and that his/her business owes you full compensation. If that does not get a response, you can tell your boss that you will take advantage legal options available to you. (Assuming you are in the U.S.: ) You can always sue, but that is just one option. A very effective option is to file with your state labor board (ie- Texas Workforce Commission in Texas). Businesses hate this because they can face big fines if they are found in the wrong. You can also report the business to the IRS. If they are not paying their wages, there is a good chance they are not paying other expenses. If you have worked with the company since before the close of the 2010 tax year, you should have received a W4 last year. Compare it to your last paycheck stub and make sure that the income figures match (really this should have been done at tax time, but many people skip the step and just trust that the numbers match.) If they don't match, you can bring it to the attention of the IRS and the company may get audited and fined. Even if the numbers do match, you can tell the IRS that the company may not be properly reporting their wages on account of they are refusing to pay their employees. They also are not properly withholding and paying your income taxes, so the IRS will investigate. Another place you can report your boss to is the Social Security Administration. If you have wages due to you, your boss should have withheld FICA for the Social Security Administration. If they have not, the Social Security Administration will come after them as well. It is crucial to double-check that your boss has reported and paid what he/she says he/she has withheld to the Social Security Administration for the entire time that you have worked for the company, not just the one time your boss has improperly denied you wages. If you already receive an annual statement, compare it to your check-stubs. If you do not receive statements, the statements do not match your records, or you are ready to report your boss for the unpaid wages, go to your local SSA office and explain that you need to verify your contributions. Explain the situation. Make sure to bring the latest paycheck stub that you have received, year-end stubs for the years you have worked for the company, an ID, and your social security number. Besides fines, your boss may face criminal charges and even jail time for fraud, tax evasion... I have had this happen to close family members and friends, and it is always a mess. I would look for a new job immediately. Even if your boss does pay, I would take the check to the company's bank not mine so that you do not have to pay a bounced check fee if it turns out to be a bad check. (Yes, businesses sometimes write employees bad checks when they have money problems.) You can also take the check to a check-cashing company if you like. (Normally there are small fees for doing both of these things, but they are normally smaller than bounced check fees.) You are not a slave or a volunteer. You deserve to be paid. Good luck heart

@Ta Lu: To clarify, when you file a complaint with the state labor board you can file for unemployment on the grounds that your boss has told you that he cannot afford to pay you. As part of the unemployment claim you can say you are owed unpaid wages from the company. If you are forced to file complaints to collect your wages chances are you have no reason to return to your job.

I learned uh....Well nothing really. My peas all died for no apparent reason, no bugs on them, clean dirt from a bag not the ground, shriveling from the ground up. I haven't figured out why, and I doubt that I ever will.
Just when they were getting their tiny cute pods, too.

(Just realized I forgot to post what I did yesterday while I was on...)
Yesterday I watched the shuttle take off on television. It is something I have done for as long as I can remember. I watch the landings, too. Many years of memories coming to a close. I wish that this story was unfolding differently, but we have to make the best with what we have sometimes.
I had this on my profile for a while but I think I took it down. One of my dreams is to someday own a lunar hydroponic nursery. (I think, actually, my profile read that I wanted to live on the moon and grow plants.) I admit it is a very long range dream, but hey, a girl can dream.
In the meantime, today I sat around with my mom and watched tv. MASH and Doctor Who (we are on ep. 12 of series 5 here). Still very little rain here.

Yesterday i worked and then i went to a small get together at a friends house, things went south at the end of the night and my friend got into a fight with his cousin and so he's moving now because he isn't going to put up with his cousins crap anymore...so there was drama which kinda ruined everyones good night. Came home and grabbed a liter of water and took some tylenol right away.
Woke up this morning and got going right away and ended up buying a really nice 12 speed drill press. The store was sold out of bandsaw's unfortunately so i'm back to using a hacksaw for now. Maybe next weekend i can get my bandsaw if i'm lucky.

Today I played 'lets pretend'. For the last two hours, electricity has been flickering on and off, and I was hungry... sooo... I thought 'lets pretend the power was out and I needed to cook.'
I used my train lantern for light, a little sterno stove to cook on and a can of sterno for fuel. I made spaghetti sauce and noodles using my military cup for the tomato sauce and a glass jar for boiling the noodles with water. After the noodles were mostly cooked then I took them out with a spoon, draining the water and adding it to the tomato sauce and heating that up. I also added some italian spices too. It worked out well and I had a nice hot meal eating it right out of my military cup.

In a time where there are food and clean water shortages, and children and adults not getting their vital vitamins, nutrients and fiber. This women shows that she can turn her yard into a beautiful Victory Garden, to feed her family and educate all parts of society about being GREEN, SUSTAINABLE and ORGANIC can be as simple as using a the useless piece of grass patch to build a garden. Its decorative and beautiful.
And I bet she's saving lots of money by simply not buying all those fertilizers, weed killers, pesticides, and gallons and gallons of water for a inedible bit of green we call our "lawns".
Julie Bass is jailed for 93 days because her front yard isn't a "conventional"

I started testing the salinity of the stream water today. It should be interesting to see how it changes over the next couple of months. I am still testing the pH, velocity, and bacteria concentrations of the stream.
Some people screwed around with one of my sites. I was really pissed off when I went to Site A today and discovered some jerks had built a "dam" and screwed up the flow of the stream in that area.
