Zahara however was not happy at what she was hearing. In theory? She didn't think so. She'd promised little Toharu that nothing was going to happen to her and she damn well meant it. "No you don't Malik. You will not do anything to Toharu as long as I have say in it and at this point I do." She glanced down at the little fairy and held her closer, "She's been through enough and does not need the likes of you pouring more on her. You want to kill off this dragon, fine, but you touch Toharu and you'll deal with me." She didn't care that Roarke was there, she didn't particularly care that Malik might not like what she was saying. She leaned back in her chair and idly petting at Toharu's soft wings to keep her calm. Poor little faerie, she'd been through so much and everyone just wanted to use her. "And if you really upset me, you'll never find the lich." A glance at Piper to show she did indeed mean business.

Was it obvious that she wanted to say something as Malik went off on his business tangent. She was sure that there was probably some indication in there somewhere. Business on the day off was not a good thing. And Malik was quick to pick up on it and try to appease her on the transgression he had made. "Well, I guess I can be forgiving of your transfgression, Lord D'vinn." She held up a finger to those in her company. "But that is more than enough business, Roarke you look like you could use the rest from it anyway, best for you to rest for a day or two since you have your lodging. Kieran you don't need to be involved in the bulk, and Malik you just quit for a while. Leave things and that includes living being alone." Yes that sounded sufficent. And it backed up Zahara.

Kieran blinked and then chuckled, the sound seemingly breaking tension built up from business and from Zahara's little tirade about familiars. But a look to Piper first. "I think Silverfeather means business in her own sense with us...best not to cross her right? We all like our ears and don't need them fussed off. But she's right, need to relax and clear minds. Can't plan with foggy head." Then a look to Zahara with a chuckle. "Easy to feel attachment to, aren't they?" Of course a hand reaching back to pet at Raziel again in custom fashion.

The warmth of the air gave away the presence of the dangerous creature which Jarlaxle now tracked. THe auras and the residue chakra and magical energies combined to create a blur of what power had passed through this area. THe sensitive drow knew that what he was doing was placing several thousands of years at risk, but being a drow did that every day.

He knew that he was a few miles away from the Keep, and that causd him to be somewhat on his guard.

Now wear are those teeth and talons...

To make his quary come out quicker, he pulled a long dress from a cloth bag he was carrying. It was the remnents of a lavender dress, and parts of a peticoat that a certain oricle once wore, but much to her dismay, lost when dangers claimed it from her. The smell of her blood was faint, but strong enough to bring out those seeking it.

Roarke really didn't feel like arguing or discussing his situation with malik, so he took Piper's advice and sat back a bit. "No more buisness for the time being then, Piper. I must say I am rather tired after al of that," he lifted the hal-pup in his lap. "I think we all are."

Raziel smiled a bit and accepted the petting. "We're just so darn cute."

With all of thsoe loud voices, Toharu wasn't coming out of the saftey of her wings. But she heard soem thigns tht she didn't like, and lord help that man if he threatened her master! But for now she would continue to cover herself in her own feathers. With that drow woman petting her, it wasn't so bad, as long as no one came near.

One jaint, red eye snapped open. The mentaly unstable dragon had been resting peacfully, knowing that he would be unable to break the strong, ice-made wires that held him tethered to to the earth. A faint scent hit his nostrals, and set him thrashing wildly, his head swaying viciously back and forth on the ground, great snuffs of fire and hot breath comming through his nose.

Owain had been tightening a rope when the thrashing started, sending him flying several feet. The rest of the ridesr mounted their dragons, and began trying to settle their general. Their assets were in speed, and had no picked up the strange scent that set Tanundra wild.

"Ah, there you are." The general said as the sounds of the beserk green reached his ears. Keen drow ears could find such things rather easily, especially in the dark.

He replaced the cloth into his bag and ran towards the noise, keeping heed of the environment, watching for signs of enemies. The auras melted and fused, and some changed into different patterns. Spells or enchantments... THe drow decided that he should clearify his position by taunting the green again. Out came the scent..

Thrahaja and Owain were frantically working with the other dragons to try and still Tanundra. His movements were stressing the enchanted ropes, and the more he struggled the more he dug deeper into the earth beneath him, slacking the rope. Borphious and Odila lassoed Tanundra's snout, trying to keep his head thrashing to a minimume. It seemed for a moment that they might succeed long enough for the other dragons to secure more restrains.

Briefly, the scent disappeared, and briefly Tanudnra. The stimulus was gone...but there it was back! And it was closer! He let loose a scream, both out loud and inside the heads of those who could hear him, which caused his lieutenants to back away with the ferocity of his voice.

Meilikki!

Jarlaxle smiled. THe green would make an interesting ally. THe noise of the binding process was becoming louder, and the drow ever so optimistically approached the racket. HIs stealth was master over the generations he lived, but to be honest, he was not tyring to hide very well. HE wasn't using his full potential, nor did he bother to wear one of the semi-magical cloaks his scouts and soldiers wore when they were attempting these types of mission.

A few moment later, he could clearly see what had befallen the green.

Flicking a wrist, a dagger appeared in his hand, to which he tied a piece of the old dress. He casually threw the dagger near the dragon's head.

The thrashing stopped as abruptly as they had begun. That one crazed red eye watched the dagger as it landed, it saw what was on it, and it rooled up towards the drow. It was a tense moemnt, as if facing a rabid wolf and not knowing what he was going to do next. Great shivers ran across the dragon's flesh, his muscles rippling beneath his skin with unknown intention.

The five dragon's stopped, wings beating rappidly in their to keep themselves still. As of yet, they did not understand what was going on, but the implication of a drow was enough. Rodney the red, ever quick to act before he thought, swoopped in at the drow.

Tanundra's teeth were bared, his neck whipped his head around, nearly nsapping one of the ropes, fraying it till it held by a single strand. He clamped both dager and torn dress piece in hi jaws.

The drow waited for the dragon to be within critical range, the space between being able to adjustt his attack, and hitting, before dodging it with easy. He tumbled closer to the enraged beast.

"If you escape your bonds, I may be able to help you."

Nine thousand years of expierence may go to waste her. A single drow against dragons. Jarlaxle shruged and adjusted his hat.

The other four draongs assesed the problem quickly, finding the drow to be the source of their problem. Destroy the drow, calm the general. Owain pulled a hbow and arrow from his saddle bag, aimed and fired. The other riders followed suit.

These five had been together far long their than the underdark had even been concieved, two kept in the air, two swooped low to the ground, running at times to take passing snaps at the drow, the last kept an eye on Tanudnra.

At this point, you might think that Tanudnra was rather beastial, and would not understand such things as offers of help. However, an offer to to achieve his goal....the dress rag hung suspended by one tooth, Meilikki's scent and tast now leaking in through his mouth. His eforts doubled, and snapped the last thread on the broken rope.

If the harrassing dragons and arrows bothered Jarlaxle, he did not show it. He merely danced closer to the green, allowing the arrows and dragons to try and hit him. Several times it would seem that he was crushed under a blow or two, or arrows squarlely pierced his flesh, but for one reason or another, he would always appear nearby, unharmed.

"I heard you sacked a Keep, a well defended one at that. It would work to both of our benefits to unit, you for your goal, me for mine."
PostPosted: Thu May 04, 2006 4:05 pm

Ha! That keep was nothing! No stone or magic would keep from from finding his Meilikki! And neither would these ropes!

With the first rope gone, the dragon was able to move his head freely, turning it to clamp onto another. Enormouse claws dug into the earth, pulling his boy forward even as his enck was turned all the way around. loosinging his bonds even more.

Now they were forced to split their efforts, attacking the drow, trying to keep the General restrained. They were forced toresort to their lazer breath, firing at the drow at will. Racing dragons were quick, swiping, biting..and could not udnerstand why they were not fast enough to snare a drow. Lucan thought he had finally sunk his teeth into flesh, but only mangaed to rip off a bit of the dark elf's clothing.

"As you wish. no more buisness from me. As to you, Roarke..rooms have been prepared, though I dare say I was expecting students rather than wolf/child halfbreeds..."

Though his ears twitched. he may not be holding Malvolence, but something like a Dragon screaming would reverberate though the blade that could hear him and faintly to the master of that blade. probably just him venting or struggling agaisnt his binds. no matter.

"And Zahara..as well as you Piper..I only reffered to it as an example. I do have some standards, after all. But please, get somethign to eat, take a rest. There's time to deal with other things later."

Onyx shrugged, adn followed after Whirlwind with a twitching of his nose. that other scent. that wasn't the kind of scent you brought on buisness. what exactly was going on here?
PostPosted: Thu May 04, 2006 4:09 pm

Jarlaxle contineued to move closer to the draogn, still dodging arrows and teeth, claws or whatever else the dragons threw at him.

"I wonder what foul things are befalling her now, Meilikki..." I wonder if I have ot say more than that.

Her name. That was all that was needed to through him into a frenzy. His scales grew hot, began to glow red like brunings coals. His fire essence bubbling to the surface in rage and insanity. The ropes quickly snapped under pressure and heat, those that didn't bursting into flame and melting away. Alaran's work, no matter how perfect, simply could not out power Tanundra.

His tail came around and struck one dragon to the ground, rendering him useless for now. He caught another beneath his claw. That giant head snapped around one more time, catching the drow in his jaws. With a powerful thrust of his hind legs, the dragon was airborn, flying in a random direction.

He kept his teeth bared and partially seperated to give the drow breathing air.
