Well, in simple terms, Geologists study rocks and dirt. xp But Geology, really, is the study of the Earth, and attempting to understand it. Geology is a very general science, and it has many more specialized fields, like volcanology, and paleontology.
Paleontologists are those guys who dig up dinosaur fossils. But they do more than that, because Paleontology is the study of prehistory. They excavate the remains of hundreds of other kinds of prehistoric creatures, and plants too. They study them, as well as the earth itself, and attempt to piece together what it was like before humans were around.
