"Wizards in Norrath deal in destructive and creative uses thereof. I saw a wizard once use an ice comet to 'knock' on someone's door. Though for interrogation purposes..the best magics come from two schools. Wizards levitation..and an enchanter's gravity flux. then take the person you want to get information from to the Hole."

Though he knew Piper and Kieran wouldn't know that landmark.

"The Hole was the result of a magical civil war between the Erudites. theological and ideological differences. they split into two cities, Paineel, devoted to the God of Fear, housing necromancers and shadowknights amoung her number, and Erudin, devoted to Prexus and Quellious God of oceans and goddess of tranquility, respectivly. where such arts were banned, and Paladins roamed. during the final great battle, they literally unleashed enough force to create a hole in the surface of norrath that is probably..at least fifteen to twenty miles deep. it is reffered to as 'The Hole'. the iterrogation method is throw the victim down into it. wait about..eight to ten minutes, use levitation to prevent them from splattering on teh ground..and gravity flux them back up."

A slight grin.

"you ask you question, and then you cancel levitation, let them fall, and repeat until you get what you want...or until you miscalculate. whichever comes first."

"It's a history lesson, and an amusing way to get answers that you want out of someone." Was it wrong that she could put humor into that? Probably not, she'd just been around Malik for over twenty years now, all time included, and she had just learned to accept the little things such as his information bouts. "And what we never visited? Shame on you Malik." Yes let's make a joke of it too. "You like teasng father with such information, don't you?"

Could you again see the amusement and sponge like absorbtion going on in Kieran's eyes as the wheels in his head turned? But of course, he wasn't one to hide when he was interested. "All in all, that sounds like quite the useful method...ethics and morals and what not aside of course." No really, it was. Nothing really motivated quite like fear had the tendecny to make things direct and to the point.

"We woudl have visited, if that panda lunatic hadn't given us such a hard time. they are on the same continent. of course after that fiasco in stonebrunt, we both just wanted to get back home. You think the Ferret story is cute, you should hear the Panda story."

Another chuckle and a wink at Piper.

"Though there are several such landmarks in Norrath. The Cobalt Scar, the Hole, the Rathe Mountains and Lake Rathetear..if you believe the legends..Mistmoore Castle, the Estate of Unrest. the tragedy of Veksar."

Of course those mentioned out of hand.

"In fact, Lake Rathetear is where I was raised. a tower standing on the middle of the small isle..though it goes under the waters and spreads into a catacomb of underground rooms and cells and living quarters. with several exits and enterances form teh shorelines as well as the tower itself."

If Kieran was a younger elf, he would probably be sitting cross legged on the floor by now, close in front of Malik and staring up with wide awed eyes and a fascinated grin. Really, Malik was almost indulgent with his information when it came to Kieran. Though one eyebrow did arch in amused questioning fashion. "Panda story...oh do tell." Another chuckle, seeing as it was probably a chance to make his daughter flush and what not, that was always fun.

She covered her face with her hand a moment before it went back to rest on Malik's chest. "Must we recall that?" Though she doubted her pleading would matter. If they wanted thier chuckles, they would get them. Though okay she had to admit, the whole thing had been a mix of extreme annoyance, a little oddity and some good placed humor...well in retrospect.

Securing the location of Meilikki was the easy part for Orko. During the first few days of the Deep Water Campaign, the Wizen Watch Tower was sacked, because they both represented the greatest military threat to the pirates, and the source of greatest wealth with a few hunderd miles. The next target was the Academy, which held the only other storehouse of valuable objects, but plans to sack that place were put on hold until sucha time as it proved to be more entertaining.

The Wizen Watch provided the drow wizards with a few weeks of reading materials, as the accumilated works of the tower more or less only covered the weakest powers in magic, with a few subtle differences here and there, nothing that any drow had not thought of, or died thinking about. The real wealth of information came from the journals and documents describing experiments and other such things, the drow could claim to have done so first, but why risk several centeries of life for such minor things. Human and other non-drow pawns, including Orko, were far better suited for the development of new spells, especially of destruction.

The final major take, as far as the wizards cared, was Rydia. The woman was a high ranking official, probably the wizard in charge as far as the drow were concerned, or gave a damn. She held vast traks of secret information, and novel ideas that the drow enjoy viewing at their leasure, as when a memory is removed, it needs to be placed somewhere. The only side effect of this method is the residual trace left in the mind, which can be recovered.

Spying on the lazy folk proved to be the greatest source of information for just about anything going on in the realm, and lazy drow who took few things for granted watched just about anything that remotely looked dangerous. The first few thousand years of underdark living tought the weary elf-kin that even the slightest sign of danger could be the end of the clan. Shadows could kill just as readily as giants in the dark.

Thus, with the aid of Ad'non, Orko traced all of the facts and questions to a single point on the map, and luckily, he had the 'inside' information about that point to find out the 'truth'.

Only, no one cared. Jarlaxle was not interested in affairs that would further himself, or at least he tried to make that appearence. Why on earth would he come here if that were true? The Captain was off hunting big game, for just about no reason, which meant that he didn't care either. The only person who would give a damn, was somewhere outside of the the tunnel complex that was currently be used as a centre of opperations for the drow cohorts. Warhammer was busy taking care of the sick and doing other such 'goodie goodie' stuff for Orko to consider going to him. Thus, the Oricle remained more or less where she was, but at least she would provide something interesting to watch on the crystal ball, now that there were thrity five wizards doing the work of six.

Hence, wasted away the information about the Oricle, and what terrible things happened upon her. Orko chuckled when he considered the reactions from the Good Old Capt'n, and felt a shiver crawl down his spin. Did he really hand her over, or not... The wizard shrugged it off. Unless he was asked or ordered to, he would not seek out the captain to find out.

Raziel frowned. "You're....experimenting on someone who is trying to recover?" Yeah, good one, the first step to getting Toharu to talk is putting her through stressful experiments. Perhaps the only time Raziel would feel so..well he didn't know how to explain it really. He held onto Zahara's hair as she walked over to the table that the fairy was sitting on.

Toharu looked up at Zahara with large, frightened eyes. It was painfully obvious that she didn't want to be there, and she figited alot, asif wanting to move away. She remebered this woman well, remebered that their skin and hair were the same colour. She remebered the blue one that was her size just as well. She looked to both of them and gave a little nod.

Raziel slipped from Zahara's shoulders and kneeled in front of his counterpart. "Uh..Toharu, right? You remeber me, Raziel, and Zahara here, I bet, that's our job isn't it, to know everything we've seen and heard?" Just setting the common ground.

"We're going toi bring this to Roarke first, and see if he knows anything. Or amybe Malik, I don't know.: She stuck her tounge back out at him.

Roarke was dislodging the wolf-kin form the dragons, whom he thanked before they flew off their theoir commanding officer. It might not have taken so long, but pups were pups you know, and they couldn't travel too fast, especially with so many of them. So, a pup-kid in one hand and Daz to his left, they approached the door.

"You won't have to stay here for too long I hope. We'll have the academy rebuilt as soon as possible."

"Of course. your father indulged me with the ferret story..it's only fair I indulge him with the panda story."

then a grin.

"We were in the Stonebrunt mountains of Odus, one of the major continents. this area is inhabited by small clans of kobolds and mostly wild animals. jugle types..tigers, snakes, and pandas. If you did not know, a Panda is a breed of bear, with black and white markings. they feed primarily on the bamboo plant. thier markings are often reffered to a cute by women."

A glance to piper on that one.

"Anyway. during our travel through, we came across one of these pandas. probably three to four feet in height on all fours. Piper gave a girlish squeel, which first got the bear's attention, and then ran over to it, and began petting and cuddling on it. the bear did not mind this attention."

A slight chuckle.

"However, Piper apparently did not learn her lesson from the ferret. Bamboo, when cut or chewed into, has a sweet smell to it. the panda mistook the bag of cinnamon she was carrying to be bamboo, and grabbed the bag in it's jaws, attempted to wrench it free and get at the inside. Piper played tug of war with the bear for about three seconds, before it jerked her forward to the ground."

"Then, in typical fashion, she jumped up, and proceeded to slap the bear on it's nose, demanding her bag back. the bear let go of the bag, alright. and reared on it's hind legs, and roared at her. at this point I stepped in, to make sure she wasn't hurt, sword drawn."

"in about two seconds after I drew steel, and woman, wearing panda skins, jumped out of the brush, knocking me down and putting a spear at Piper demanding to know why she 'assualted' her pandas, before petting the bear and crooning to it much like you might a pet. then picked up piper's bag, and handed it to the bear."

another chuckle.

"You can imagine how well that went over. she accused piper of being a 'mean, overbearing, selfish hog' for not 'sharing' with her bears. then of course, Piper went off on a tangent. probably the only thing that kept those two from fighting was the spear pointed at her and the bear, telling her about the bear stealing her bag. she was then accused to 'teasing' the bear with it in the first place."

"the bear by this time had dumped out the cinnamon, and after trying to eat it, snorted and scattered the rest around and dropped the bag. the woman went nuts, accusing both of us, particularly me this time, of trying to poison her poor defenseless bears..after which she demanded we leave her jungle, and not to come back until we were prepared to apologized to the offended bear."

"By that time since we were both clear on her being out of her mind, Piper got her bag back, with some of her cinnamon left, and we both left to simply avoid the aggravation. But boy did she rant and rave the whole way about about 'freaks' and 'stupid bears' and shoving spears in unmentionable places."

Oh that one was priceless. Truly, and utterly priceless. And it earned a good chuckle from Kieran as he could more or less imagine it all in his head. Stubborn girl, Piper had always been. All he could do really was grin at her as her cheeks had indeed tinged red. "You know...you should of just let it go and gotten some more."

Oh yes she blushed and shook her head at the story. "I'm half wood elf! I can't help myself." Yes because they were know for thier affinity for animals and thier tendency to chew on tree bark, yes? Of course. She was right in her own sense and that's what mattered. But she shook her head at her father. "Oh no I couldn't. Mr. Prepared here took it from me, and stashed it away, only letting me have some from time to time...just so happened that that was all he was letting me have for the month and he doesn't back down." And no he didn't. Piper had made two and a half cinnamon sticks last a whole week. That was all. Usually three plus a week was her normal intake of it. "And that woman was an absolute lunatic. I'm not apoogizing for something I didn't start."

"Well that certinally makes you more aggressive about it, doesn't it you cinnamon addict." Cinnamon addict inded. Though there could be worse things she could be addicted to, surely.

"Says the elf who has a certain taste attraction to Terra Bud Crystals?" Little Andal specific crytals. Born from the earth at the bottom of various water sources, and shaped like tear drops that had a certain sweet and salty taste to them but also gave off various positive side affects, travelers sweared by them. A look at Malik. "Bet those would make you giddy."

Kieran raised an eyebrow at her. "Those are different than your little cinnamon indulgence. And you know it." It wasn't a fight they were starting at all but friendly picking. Hey, she liked them too, she just didn't find them as convient as Kieran did. A little shrug and a smirk. "She'll never learn, will she?"

The Tiefling didn't talk, just nodded along with what the doctor was saying. 'great' he thought to himself, a months worth of experience, he was probably gona leave more broken then when he arrived. " I hope you know what your doing" he said with a shrug. He began the tedious process of removeing his chest plate so that the 'doctor' could get at his wounds more easily. His fingers went to work unbuckling the countless straps that held his armor in place and at least ten minuets later the armor fell from him.

He gathered it up, along with the armor that had been covering both his arms and carefully leyed it to rest on a bed. Dried blood was very evadent on his black and red tunic, the tiefling moved to place a hand against his side, where he had been stabbed, he pulled it back and was not suprised to see his hand covered in blood. "damn....well" he started, gingerly removing his shirt over his head so that he and the doctor could inspect his gross wounds.

The pale muscled flesh of his chest was covered in many battle scars and more then one tattoo. His ribs were bruised and purple, as was his collarbone, and sternum, and on his left side, just below his ribs and about an inch from any major organs there was a large hole in his flesh, the skin around it was stained with dried blood and deep purple from bruising. The wound looked to be almost a week old and not once had it been treated or even cleaned.

Cormyr brought his bare fingers against the very edge of the would, wincing, " heh, well doctor" he started sarcastically " I think my collarbone might be cracked, my shoulder was out of socket, but i think i reset it properly, and theres that" He said pointing at his most grevious wound" other then that, i think i have a mild concussion and a lot of bruises"
PostPosted: Tue May 02, 2006 3:05 pm

Moonstone washed his hands in a sink as best he could, careful to dry them as well. He took one look at all the bruising and shoook his head. "Well, bruising I can't do much about, besides a salve that will bring any swelling down." He lifted Cormyr's chin to tighten the skin on his chest, pocking lightly at the collar bone, feeling down it's length. He felt something grinding.

"It's not cracked, just pulled out of place with your arm. We'll see if you popped that back in properly in just a second." He asked which shoulder, picked up the arm and held it straight out, rotating it out and back, down, pressing on his scapula slightly, asking if he felt any pain.

"You've pulled out the muscles. If you don't keep this arm active, they won't heal right. That is to say, they'll heal to fast and hook onto other muscles, limiting your movement."

Zahara smiled softly at her trying not to scare her anymore than she already was. She glanced at the little fairy briefly and shook her head, there was not going to be any experimenting on the little fairy while she was around to talk about it. A glance at Raziel and she nodded, he seemed to have the situation well in hand. Zahara marched right back over to the necromancers and jerked on one of their robes. "I have a message for you from Piper. She said there will be no experimentation on Toharu. None. All experimenting will stop on that little faerie this instant, the Mistress of the house demands it and you know what will happen if you make Piper angry." She looked at them with that gleam in her eyes that said she knew exactly what their fates would be.
PostPosted: Tue May 02, 2006 3:23 pm

Raziel watched Zahara for a minute, thankful that she was helping out. Then turned back to Toharu. She was looking at him with those big, painfilled eyes. "We're going to stop the mean people doing scary things to you, okay?" Toharu looked at him like she didn't believe it. "Really, no more of those mean experiments." He leaned in a little closer.

"We kind of need your help, cause you know something that would stop other people from being hurt like you. You don't want that do you?" She gave a vigurouse shake of her head.

"We need to know where the Lich is."

Whoops, wrong thing to ask. She threw her amrs over her head and curled up in a ball, shivering as if the lich was right there right now.

"Your cinnamon intake regulation was your punishment for being overly aggressive in Neriak around it. Cinnamon is a rare thing in the underdark, and you fighting or spending huge sums on any you coudl find when you thought you'd run out soon was driving me nuts. so I bought a large, very large, amount and rationed it to you."

Then a glance at Kieran.

"Probably not. However, another reason to visit. Terra Bud Crystals sound interesting. and what do you mean by giddy, piper?"

The Necromancer jerked his robe back from her, and and turned his attention around in a disdainful manner, one hand holding a vial of some shimmering purple liquid and the other holding a human heart that was beating on it's own.

"We have performed only two experiments at Lord Dvinn's request. One was the use of drugs to maintain her existance, and the other was getting one of the enchanters to attempt to find information. that is the extent of our 'experiments' on her."

Before giving her another slightly dirty look and going back to his work.

The Ogres let Roarke pass without incident, only watching the pups with mild if any interest. they'd have to remember teh small fuzzies were not food.

Onyx smirked lightly.

"Well that's more than I knew ten seconds ago. So Roarke and Malik are the potential ports of call. okie dokie. Just trying to stay informed, miss run off on a tangent."

A slight chuckle at that.

Zahara glared right back at that drow and resisted the urge to slap him. Happy was quickly disappearing. She slowly turned around and walked back to the small table where the faeries were sitting and she perched one hip on the table, then gently scooped Toharu into her palm, gently stroking her head. "It's alright Toharu, we aren't going to let anything hurt you okay? Now that thing that scares you is really bad and we want to destroy it once and for all so it can hurt anyone else. Won't that be a good thing?" Zahara paused for a moment trying to think of the best way to say this. "We need your help to find him and kill him. Can you tell me where he is? I promise he wont' hurt you if you tell and no one else will either. I promise you that Toharu, no one else will ever hurt you as long as I'm around." Her voice was fiercely protective yet soft tones so as not to scare the little faerie. "Can you please tell us?"

King Jiscal I sat behind his desk, looking at the parchment that was placed before him by his trust worth cohort Akbarizad. The merchent from the north had brought some stablity and hope to this small desolate country, and the newly formed Honoursfield increased the sucurity of this dark abyss by a fraction, but every grain of rice helped feed the hungry.

Though, rice could be consumed rather quickly.

The lord awaited the girl who was his hostage, or guest as far as anyone was really concerned. Jiscal could gain nothing from creating emity between the nations, and that boy-king would gain more from having such an able lord in this dark land. Should an invading army come, Jiscal would have to send soldiers to aid the client king, and the client king could evacuate his kingdom to Deep Water in a pinch. This relationship seemed heavily in favour of the client.
