Paying Dagoth about as much mind as he had given Corbin carried on down into the reception area and gave the workers, then Jan a cocked brow of a look.
"I don't even wanna know. If you have teh time I need my weapons and... I doubt I'm wanted near the storage after what 'appened the last time. My Gunblade and Desert eagle, as well as a spare magazine o' .50AEs if there any spare."

"But with all the magic using over powered min ma.......the ******** did you say?"
Dagoth was about to launch into a tirade about how foolish that had to be considering the amount of meta-humans, demons, fae and other magic folk that covered every square inch of this place. He even had some wonderful one liners lined up before Roan knocked him for six. His face was more telling than his attempts at being macho and jovial about this, he couldn't hide the confusion in his brow, the anger in his eyes and the sadness welling up in his throat. The pirate looked once again like a complete emotional wreck, after a moment of silence he started stomping that back down.
"I don't have any family. They are dead, I had crew and friends but most of them are dead. Whatever game this is, isn't funny or appreciated Roan."

"I said, you didn't tell me you had a sister. There is a woman downstairs Corbin found in the Society of Leopold's clutches. He liberated her and brought her back, and she is claiming to be your sister.
I have her contained until you can verify this one way or another. I suspect from your reaction however, we may have an imposter. Unless there is a chance you are wrong about your family? And even then, I believe you only told me you had a brother, did you not?"
She was watching him intently as she spoke, interested in both his reaction and the venom he came back at her with for the innocent enough statement. In response, shadows closed in around Daegonna's room, an extra level of protection to ensure she did not abscond into, or away from, the mansion.
Pulling down a crystal cut goblet from the cabinet next to her desk, she slit her wrist and held the wound over the vessel as she spoke, before pushing it towards Dagoth.
"Drink that, and then I think prehaps we should go and see her, yes?"
Meanwhiel downstairs, Jan passed off his load to a passing underfootman, and droppe din beside Corbin, gesturing him towards the old armoury.
"Your request takes precedence over our meagre efforts with the trainign room sir, I will be pleased to accompany you. You will no doubt be gratified to hear that the items of which you and the Lady are concerned have been moved to a safer location for the time being, and while I cannot pretend the armoury is in the state I would best like it, and Mister Spiers has yet to complete work on the new addition, the old room will serve our needs in the mean time."
Unlocking the room, which looked as if nothing had ever occurred inside, save for there being immensely less weaponry now present, Jan gestured to a wooden stand holding Corbin;s weapons, and the back rack containing all he could need in terms of ammo.
"I trust all you need is present sir?"

"No."
Dagoth got up and looked at the goblet and then at Roan, he was trying hard not to start freaking out. Roan had spent the last few months crashing against his walls to the point they had crumbled one after another. This wasn't raw or even a mark of shame it was loss, complete and utter loss to him. The Pirate did not want to know if he was right or wrong, he didn't want to be drugged into doing and he sure as hell wasn't prepared to back down.
"I'm leaving."
Dagoth turned towards the door and began to move.

"Your men among men fella."
Following to the armoury Corbin took note of the fact the Daemon weapons had been removed. Much as he suspected, they were most likely now being held somewhere in secret and with increasing barriers of some sort. Some sealing voodoo. As for why they hadn't been that way from the start, there must have been a reason.
Patting Jan on the shoulder with a friendly clap he then entered, rubbing his hands together like a kid in a candy store, though the selection was already made up in his mind. He was just glad his weapons hadn't been destroyed in the inferno. That said, he thought his blade at least sturdy enough to survive.
Loading the chambers of his Gunblade with .50AE rounds he rolled itonce in hand before sheathing it, then took his pistol to the ammo selection. One magazine of the same ammunition slapped into the weapon, he holstered then took a spare magazine and slid it into the pouch on his shoulder holster. It might not serve to do much damage against those of Roan's kind, but the sound it made... Noise was a powerful weapon on its own. Besides, it made plenty big enough holes in other targets.
"So, how's the Witch? Did Roan find a use for her?"
He asked this of Jan while taking a seat on a crate, while oddly enough, going about the task of unsheathing his Gunblade then removing the rounds from it one by one and carving small markings into the projectile heads of them with one of his flick knives.

"Running again pirate?"
She sat back, face impassive, just watching.
"If you think I'm just testing you, good. It means you listened early on. But in this case, I genuinely have a woman downstairs whose identity I cannot as yet confirm or deny. The easiest way for me to do so is for you to simply tell me if you know her or not.
If not, in the interests of security and efficiency, I will simply have her killed. Necromancers are trouble, and I will not abide one knowing of my home and existence if I have no good reason to keep them alive. And believe me... if you tell me you don't know her, I will kill her myself as a spy.
One thing I will tell you as an absolute no matter what... if you run now, my door will forever remained closed to you. As you are now, I have completed the work I said I would on your behalf. Your work in the warehouse will be compensation enough for fixing you up. Run away now, and the contract is closed, and our relationship at an end.
Choose you path carefully, Dagoth. The world is too complicated to live in it with regrets."
She crossed one leg over the other, and sat back to wait. The goblet sat between them, its contents swirling slightly from her movement to put it down. Even as they spoke, her wrist wound was knitting, as were his own wounds, in front of her eyes. Whatever his choice, she was satisfied he was vastly improved from the way he had been when they first met. If he left now... she was content that it would be enough for her to live without the very regrets she was warning him against.
"Her Ladyship gleaned some small amount of information about the group sir helped to identify and deal with last eve. As yet however, she is being detained pending confirmation of her identity. Sir will no doubt take pleasure that she is in good health, thanks to your efforts, and I believe she will wish to speak with you in person once it is known she is no agent of the enemy."
Answering candidly, Jan busied himself tidying a few more odds and ends as Corbin organised his stock, sighing in regret that many of the custom made shelves, stands and holsters had been destroyed beyond use in the inferno. While much had been replaced and scrubbed down until no sign of the damage remained, anyone who ad seen the layout of the room prior to the incident could only feel remorse at the spartan feel of the place in its current condition. Ultimately however, the necessary items to equip the staff were present, and Jan contented himself with this.
"I believe the young lady is claiming lineage with the gentleman seaman, though the validity of this hasn't yet been established. May I urge you to caution on your mission sir? While the museum is a laudable target, and shouldn't provide you with too much challenge beyond the expected.... it is often wise to watch ones back around the Lord Deceit."

"Gentleman seaman?.. You mean the t**t that nearly blew 's all back to the middle ages, if you're callin' 'im gentleman."
Some surprise in his expression as he looked back over his shoulder at the butler, though with a shrug he was back at his work with the ammo, carving with care the symbols, all uniform around the rim of the hollow point dimples.
"Guess that's no big surprise, considering the pain she was. As fer her health I couldn't really care less as long as she was useful. I very nearly threw her aside to make my escape that much easier. If it comes to it, I should be teh one to run 'er through. I brought her here after all, shouldn't be the boss' job."
With the last round carved to his liking he chambered it, spun the cylinder then snapped it in place before sheathing the weapon and standing.
"You dun 'ave to tell me, I trust that b*****d has something up his sleave, considering he could simply stroll through of 'is own accord and take it willy nilly."
Snapping the blade of his flick knife away, he tapped the handle against the end of his nose with a wink to the butler. Decidedly more of a blink, given his number of eyes.
"I got somethin' 'e wont like though, if 'e decides to gimme the cold shoulder."

"I mean it only in the same way 'young master' means 'the t**t that tried to grab a weapon containing an entity of pure evil on its own say so', if you'll pardon my french sir."
Jan had to fight very hard to keep his grin to a wry smirk on his normally deadpan features. He listened attentively as Corbin discussed the witch, then chuckled.
"I think you will soon come to find that the Lady has a tendency to regard all things within her personal sphere of influence to be 'her job'. I am sad to say that when this comes to include killing, she is rather good at it."
And then the mention of Ice. Jan looked at Corbin with some trepidation as he tapped his nose, almost dreading the answer to his next question.
"And what would that be, sir? The last young man to upset Lord Deceit in a physical manner arrived here somewhat precipitously and in pain."

He cocked a brow at the butler's comment regarding his actions towards the sword, and placed his fists against his hips with a well practiced, peeved juvenile delinquent expression.
"That any way to talk to the young master?"
He smirked, indicating his jest and acceptance of the fact he was well within the wrong in his own right. Then came the comment regarding Roan's ability to kill, and he straightened up, knife falling back into his back pocket as he spoke.
"Sad to say... You knew 'er to be different then? You don't much like teh way things 'ave turned out for 'er, do you. As far as Ice... Sad to say, he seems to 'ave taken an interest to me. He wont kill me out right."

"Sir, I regret to say, that along with the Lady, if he was merely out to kill any of us, I would feel a lot safer."
Disgust briefly showed on Jan's face, before he put the goat legged horror from his mind, and took a seat on a crate opposite Corbin, sighing lightly as he peeled off his gloves and sat back.
"I have known her Ladyship longer than most, and remember much that may perhaps have been best forgotten. Time is a terrible disease, changing people. who the Lady is doesn't bother me so much as my memory of who she was, and could have been. And who I would have been, given a chance.
Life is not fair, Corbin, nor is it kind. Enjoy the moments of joy and peace, it is always better to have happy memories on which to rely than the traumatic ones."

He didnt move and he couldn't explain why, parts of him screamed leave this was the right time and the right opportunity to do so. His mind even flashed to the skull and the adventures he could once again with the semblance of control he had. Yet he stood glued to the floor unable to take that step for once in his life, he cleared his throat clearly highly emotional from this whole situation.
"I was coming down off the blood hard, had this habit of drinking to the point weeks seemed like minutes. Before I knew it I'd ended up in this little arse of no where town. Broke, hungover and itching for a fix like you'd never seen......I got jumped and well, burning the ******** to the floor got me noticed. This woman took me in" He gave Roan one of those 'now ya get it' looks about why he got so touchy about her prying into his life. "As you can guess had this daughter, sweet little thing, annoying as ******** when you've been skinny dipping in rum for weeks on end. Turns out that my old man cheating little ******** that he is choose to sow his oats elsewhere."
He turned towards Roan now, the exhaustion showing completely now more mental than the physical he was feeling just hours ago. The post fight euphoria wearing off him and being replaced by that feeling of dread he had when first he left the mansion nights ago.
"Well a long story short, the kid and I end up bonding over books of all things. Turns out she was quite an adept at magic, literate in other forms as well that formed the basis for all Atlantian advancement. But she was killed along with her mother years ago, I buried the bodies myself I put an entire town to the sword over it I......"
He didn't know how to finish that sentence or where to to go from there. He would just look at Roan, hoping she'd have some kind of answer for him.

She sat impassive as he spoke, careful not to change her expression in any way as another wall came down, another tidbit of information was given to her. Truth be told, she hadn't actually wanted to pry into his past, it had simply been part of the issue at hand. Regardless, she took it in quietly and without undue reaction.
"The blood can do that. But willpower should never be underestimated. I have yet to meet anyone who does not harbour respect for my retainer, Jan. Let him be your anchor, if you need it. He is living proof the blood need not rule all you do.
Just as the mention of family need not always be bad. If she is your sister, it will be good for you. If not, we will put the spectre to bed, and send a message to anyone else who would try to play with us so.
They say you cannot choose family. True, one may not choose blood and nature of birth... but we choose those we treat as family, and make our own when we need to. Drink, and lets go and settle this now, before it has a chance to haunt you."

"Rubbish."
Folding his arms firmly across his chest Corbin had listened carefully to what the butler had to say and had indeed taken it all in, despite what one might think given his sharp retort.
"s**t 'appens, 'n' it generally 'appens more than pretty girls 'anding out pints o' grog. If it didn't, we'd be weak, ignorant pigs. I'll take me lickin's 'arder than teh next man 'n' come out on top, jus' like she 'as. If teh s**t out weighed teh whores wit' grog that much you wouldn't be 'ere still."
Sighing, he went about lighting a cigarette, and exhaled, tossing the pack to Jan along with his lighter. He meant every word of it, and the fact he'd slipped into a rant of one step from pure gaelic as opposed to his normally strong yet acceptable accent served to prove it.
Turning on the butler he wouldn't be surprised, or offended if he suddenly felt a blunt object on the back of his head as he walked out of the armoury.
"Long as teh ******** dosn't kill me, 'e'll regret it one day. The boss lady prolly feels teh same. Call someone to get me a bike out front, mate?"
He'd then continue on, to await his ride out front.

Catching the smokes, but merely gently sliding the lighter into the gap left by those which had been taken out already, he closed the pack and passed them back to Corbin with a small smile, before pulling his gloves back on, and settling his features back into the 'normal' butler façade he usually wore.
"I speak with great confidence when I say you have yet to understand how the Lady feels about anything, young master. I know however she would be heartened to see such determination in you. be cautious, and remember to call should you need anything. Your bike will be awaiting you within five minutes, sir."
Bowing slightly, the butler locked the armoury back up and vanished into the bowels of the house to ensure the same bike Corbin had been granted use of previously was once again made available to him.

He was glad for the discussion with Jan, brief a it might have been. He'd gotten a peek at the man behind the gloves, as it were. At least he believed as much as he awaited his ride.
Giving the lad that brought his bike a nod he slid the helmet over his features and mounted up. Lighting the beast up and revving the engine he set the PDA he'd stolen during one of his last missions up and searched for the museum.
Destination set, he'd tear off into the night.
