I make a save file at every decision point and then do every possibility to see all the scenes. Starting with the ones that I know are dead ends. Also, gonna have to go back once I finish the storyline and get the earlier ones since I didn't see the Tiger Dojo for those... and you get stamps in the ED List section for the ones you've seen.
So yeah, intentional. Only one or two have been accidental so far.
...but that one wasn't a death. It was a dream sequence after making a 'bad end' choice when sparring with Saber. KTFO, followed by weird s**t dream, followed by going straight back to the game.

What really threw me off, Ethan, was the way the later story parts are different. Like, I knew that the ending got changed for the anime so that they could further explain what the hell is going on and all that, but...
Some major discrepancies: Archer vs. Berserker just doesn't happen. It's all off-screen. That's like an entire episode there. And the whole 3-episode thing with Caster (from start to finish, like the entire thing) just isn't there. Assassin also dies off-screen in a dismissive comment of "oh, he's not here anymore".

/a/ on 4chan made a huge deal about all those.
And the Caster thing is in Heaven's Feel, I believe.
Do you just have Fate - or do you have Unlimited Blade Works as well?
The anime started out with Fate...then ******** UBW and HF in the mid-end.
I'm still very early in the game...choosing to accept the war and all.
So far I've dismissed TIGAH-SENSEI and Sakura at like...every chance.
Crazy lady and ******** USELESS b***h have no relevance to me.

Lawl, yeah.
I just have Fate right now, but I have the patch for UBW that I'll install once I'm done with this one. So then I'll do that...
At least the stuff that's missing is made up for with extra content and explanation that was missing before. Like a real explanation for why Saber can't go spirit-form and so on. Right now I'm going through the part with the room full of corpses and it's explaining that they're not actually dead but are being used like Matrix-batteries, which wasn't mentioned in the anime.

I was sorely tempted to do UBW works.
As...Rin is a thousand times more compelling a lead then Shirou.
But decided it would probably be best to do the basic storyline first.
And yeah - I've noticed the extra content.
Like the captain of the archery team...totally omitted in the anime.
COMPLETELY.
Not to mention making Shinji more then just some random creep.

Yep.
Yeah, I know how you feel about the storyline choice. Shirou... pretty annoying. Rin, not as annoying. Though aside from the fact that when I started only the one route was patched, my choice on the matter mostly had to do with the fact that Saber is probably my favorite female character to date. She's just really well written, which is compounded by the fact that you get no internal monologue from her so the dialogue and mannerisms have to be that much more exact for it to work.

Saber is well written but I never much liked her.
I'd happily trade her for Rider, Gilgamesh, or Lancer at any moment.
ANY TIME. JUST GIVE ME THE CHOICE PLOX.
Shirou is just...stupid and unrealistic.
Rin would be better if she were less INLUB.
Sakura needs to ******** die in a fire.

Yep. ******** fire. Elevar Saber is well written but I never much liked her. It all depends on what type of characters you like I suppose. Saber's a lot less of your type of character and... actually pretty close to ye olde Anna Fontaine if you take away the amazon. And Anna was awesome.
