It's also worth mentioning that the dude has four fingers on his left hand in the 5th panel.

And I thought only Crawley used Baki images.
Also, the spirit gun counts as a gun and magic. No room to talk.

Psychofish And I thought only Crawley used Baki images. Also, the spirit gun counts as a gun and magic. No room to talk. I've been reading Baki long before I knew Crawley did.
And lol, touche.

Also, spirit energy is not magic. Supernatural, yes, but for terminology and understanding reasons, they are two different things.

Simpler thing for a layman's hands to make a weapon useless, if you catch the meaning.
And it's funny, there are plenty of ways to neutralize weapons by hand in melee, and the weapons' fighting styles come with just as many ways to counter that. Most are not specifically, meant to counter hand to hand, because in reality most people would just not bother rushing an armed man without a weapon.
I've wanted a chance to use the sword some way other than just swinging away, but I don't seem to fight often enough to get into many adverse or varying situations.
Edit: That kind of stuff is more a matter of terminology than anything to me. When I say "magic" I generally mean supernatural things. Things that normal people just can't do. But the spirit is certainly separate from traditional "magic" just as there are various kinds of magic.
I think most "magic" on Gaia is spirit based at-will magic anyway.

I've been in so many hand to hand situations that I can think up a move in little time to whatever situation is presented to me. If I'm using someone like Yusuke, I'm not going to be afraid to go against anyone, no matter the weapon of choice with just his hands. But if I'm using Chen, then I'm going to be bring a weapon against a weapon. And when guns start flying, it's smart to take cover. Chen can block bullets, but his barrier breaks after a few strikes.
Cause some people like to mistake Chen's ability to block bullets as a broken ability. evil He has it so I'm using it.

Well... yeah. You don't draw a gun or a sword when a guy is right on you already. Better off using your limbs, or better yet, a knife.
I just know that there are also techniques for swords and guns for fighting people who get up that close to you when it's already drawn if you don't want to drop it.
