" I don't flatter, I speak what my eyes tell me is true, Lady D'vinn. and there's nothing for you to feel guilty about. You don't know what me and Sevilin know. if she wants him, she'd have him. either through her own devices, or through our help. our help just makes it easier, and more predictable."
A lean over a a gentle kiss for her.
"Besides. you know as well as I do...I'm going to get blamed for this anyway if they even notice what's going on. you're prefectly safe. I can handle both of them and thier pissy moods."

"You'll be blamed and then by association, I'll be blamed just as well." She knew it...after all, once Sevilin found his runes gone that would be enought to let him know it was her. Unless he thought it ZAhara...but by process of elimination, which he would no doubt do, it would circle right back to her. Innoruuk and Elvish Gods help her should he find out what she had done to his person the day before. Though she didn't like to hide behind Malik...she had no desire to take on Sevilin. "Frankly I don't want you to have to deal with their moods...but you are the ever self confident one aren't you?" Though she still wasn't too chipper as usual. "And I'm worried about my father too." Because Sevilin had mentioned being on a hunt for him.

She pulled her wrist free and scowled at him. "For about as long as it's taken me to wake you up. You're impossible."
She stood up and whiped the dirt from her pants, fixed her face veil. "Honestly, I thought cats were supposed to sleep with one eye open."

"oh don't get like that. I was up a full four hours after you passed out. and yes, cat's do normally sleep with one eye open. when there's a need to be that way. I doubt you'd ever see a lion sleeping with 'one eye open'. he doesn't have to. and neither does a panther, lounging in a tree."
A slight smirk over at her.
"besides, I foudn a book for you. since I'm not exactly..from aroudn here..you might knwo these stories and legends more than I would."
And getting up, moving some books, and handing over to her one particularly thick one.
"It looks like compelation of accounts from people during a time that Ton and Eca were alive, as they are mentioned in a few places. but city names and the like are beyond me, so I don't know places they reffer to. and it isn't in any form of elvish script, so it's not something an elf wrote. probably a book that was bought or stolen for some reason."
"You're Father is mine, as long as he's in this house. he belongs to me, and you know how I feel about people messing with things that are mine. besides. if everything goes according to plan...those two will probably be out of sight for a long time yet."

He got that specific look of hers at the mentioning of who her father was. "Don't let him hear you say that, he's liable to cuff you and then you'll both get into it. And I personally don't need that stress right now." A little shrug and another sigh before a hand was reached up to fiddle with her circlet a moment. Pretty was a long forgotten feeling for her. Well, prolonged pretty. "And if things don't go as planned, I'm locking myself in my room."

No more needed to be said to her, she jumped up grabbing her book and immediately headed for the door. Of course she had to double back and get rid of that rune, still moving through them and around them and irritating her. It was no longer a nice breeze intended to cool her, now it was pure and simple torture. She wasn't sure if he'd actually touched her or the intake of breath and sudden roaring in her ears was just proximity. Damnable instincts! They were making her look like a complete fool. She focused her attention on the mess on the table, cleaning it up in record time then out the door, not too long after he was. Outside it was still early so the quiet and stillness was eerie. Mist reached out wrapping around her and chilled her immediately but she didn't even feel it, and not because of the cloak she'd grabbed either. She firmly believed that when it came to her being around Sevilin, she'd never be cold. Uncomfortable, hell yes but cold. No. "Nice morning..." she glanced at him for a moment, looking a bit awkward then stared down at her feet. "So..."

She stuck out her tounge at him. "Yeah? We'll your not a lion, or a panther. Neeaa!"
"Besides, I'd been using my staff to speed the ship. Anyone would be tired from that."
She took the book and opened it up on her lap. She glanced at the penmenship, the signatures. "Drem, Riana, Lex, Catawa...I've heard tales of these people. If they really did write this, maybe it can be of some actual use to us."

Why was this no less awkward. Damn Underdark had to be eeriely quiet...couldn't there be something that was a distraction? Of course not. The only living thing near him at the moment was Zahara...and much as that may have pleased some part of him, he wasn't liking the idea with all of himself at all. "I guess. Then again any morning where you're not being chased down by something is good, no?"
He walked a ways, no destination in mind, just intending to walk and work out some building things. This was the last thing he needed, a tangle of unfamiliar yet all too familiar feelings and emotions. Damnable emotions. But soon enough he pretty much sat down on a rock.
"Back to your studies then, yes?" Good Vhaeran save him now...he jsut had to keep his mind focused and off of her. On the curves of the runes, not on hers.

"look at my fur, I'm pather based, and my dad was moutian lion, so there!"
And he stuck his tongue out at her too, before tapping her nose with a clawtip.
"and you wouldn't be that worn out if you'd let someone else do it once in awhile. and yes, I know, no one else gets to touch it but you for some unknown reason."
then a lean back agasint the desk.
"Well that's good. cause I don't know any of them. care to enlighten the silly kitty?"
another little smirk.
"no, don't do that. I'll handle it. no one touches you but me without permission. and if I have to act a possessive jackass to get my point across to sevilin, I will, with or without your father present. I'm sure he'll understand that. Gotta put it in plain as day drowian terms with him most times."
another lean over and a lingering little kiss, taking her hand and kissing her ring to.
"I won't let anything happen to you, or your friendship to Zahara. wether or not I happen to like her. what's important to you I'll keep safe. whatever means needed."

Yeah eerie, quiet, misty, cold Underdark. You could always count on it to be this way too, there was never any heat outside and there was never any light but being an elf she really didn't care. Her body could handle colder temperatures without making her uncomfortable unlike the puny humans. Her steps were measured her eyes alternating between the ground, to watch for rocks, and the atmosphere to keep that usual alertness about her and make sure nothing would sneak up on them. She had no idea where they were going, merely followed along a few steps behind him. Back to her studies...oh...the book. She plopped down in front of a tree, pulling her knees up to balance the book, forgetting momentarily that she didn't have her normal clothes on. It was tempting to see if it would get a reaction out of him but at this point, that was just torture to her mind so she dropped her legs, curling them and opened the book on her lap, studying....well giving the illusion that she was anyway. Idly she played with a small strand of hair, twisting it about in her fingers while her eyes roamed the pages of the book at leisure until she pulled off her cloak, spreading it out and flopped down onto her stomach, crossing her ankles into the air.

"Aren't I the one who's supposed to proclaim that 'I can handle it'?" It was funny really, usually she was the one saying that and now he was trying to reassure her that he could handle it. Not that she doubted she could...she was just overly worried. "Need I remind you that possessive may get you nowhere. Long as he thinks me your pet, he's just going to think you want me all to yourself. Though her hand idly touched to her forearm which sported nice bruising underneath bandages from where Sevilin had grabbed her before. He hadn't had permission for that. But she figured that Malik would beat the hell out of Sevilin once he 'secured' him for it, or just give stern warnign that it if happened again, bad things would happen to Sevilin. "The thought it nice thought." Though she kissed him back, her free hand coming up to caress over his cheek once more as he then kissed her ring and made his promises. Even ones he didn't like. Piper knew that despite outward apperances, Malik did know that she really did need someone around her that was her own age, and wouldn't be dying on her anytime soon. After all, had to have someone to pal around with. "I hold you to your word then, A'mael. And you've yet to disappoint." Thus he was given a smile. "Shouldn't you get dressed or are you going to lay around like that all day?" A tug at his hand. "Come on, play fancy with me."
He couldn't help himself. His eyes kept drifting to her. Every movement she made he would look, every noise she made would draw his eyes. Words and symbols in the books weren't even making sense to him. Not that it mattered seeing as he was a Master, but it was the principle of the thing.
And then he frowned as he caught himself, watching her and hoping that she would move just enough to make fabric slip in the right way. Another tug at his collar...he was still all too hot in his opinion. And to be hot and be an elf at the same time was saying something. Then there it was again, that nagging need to hear her voice...and the want to touch her. Damn it. Sevilin cleared his throat. "How are you coming with your runes? Practicing when I'm gone?"

She'd been forcing herself not to look at him, not to notice how tight his pants seemed against his legs, especially as one's gaze drifted up or how his braid was a perfect thing to tug on to bring him down to her on the ground, maybe if she did he'd fall on top of her and she'd have that lovely male weight keeping her pinned to the ground, then it would be a simple matter of seducing him, what male could resist? Her feet moved and she glanced up at him, moistening her lips nervously when for no reason whatsoever a blush once again tried to stain her cheeks. Gods she was acting like a simpering ninny, not a Drow. She marked her 'spot' in her book with a nail and sat back up one hand coming up to play with her collar, much the way Piper usually did. Damn thing felt like it was about to choke her. "Of course, you know me," she grinned, "Ever the model student." Forcing a laugh that sounded strained even to her own ears she glanced at him once again, keeping her eyes pinned to his face and said, "What do you do with your own books while I'm studying? Surely a Master has no need to study, can't you manipulate them anyway you wish to?"

"What do you mean were being followed by a Balor?!" The red hiared teifling schreeched at his 'companion', a tell skeletal and wereatched creature with dried skin stretched so tight as to outline the emphasize of every bone on its thin body. One spiked black gauntlet snapped out in an instant hooking the creature by the bottom of its skeletal head, bringing the monstrosity in close. Cormyr let a threatening growell escape his throught " How...Is...That...Possible?!" pausing inbetwene each word of his question, letting the creature know that he blamed it enitrely. He releced his hold on it and it pulled back in an instant, it's long scorpion like tail waiving in the air behind it, obviously contemplating destroying the bossy little mortal, and it likely out of the two denisins of the nine hells, only one would have left alive that day were the situation not so dire. For they had just encountered a large group of demons a few hours back, and the battle had not gone how they had planned. There squad had suffered great losses against the unorganized mass of hooting and howling demons, out of the thirty devils Cormyr had come out with, only he and Thanisol, the wreathed bone devil had walked away, and injured as they were, they both recognized that they were no match for a Balor.
"damnit!" Corm cursed under his breath, spitting a wad of bloody spit onto the ground. His companion was seemingly uninjured after the encounter, but, thanks to a lucky shot courtesy of the bands Marilith leader had slipped in he was bleeding internally and if that wasn't enough, he belived his left coller bone was broken.
" What's the matter mutt?, feeling a little under the weather?" The devil mocked, its cackling laughter cut short when that same spiked gauntlet crashed hard against the creatures blubis head, sending it reeling backwards to find support against a large rock. " Listen fool" The tiefling spat, one of his wicked long swords appearing in his closed fist too fast for the devil's eyes to register.
A look of absolute horror washed over the creature, as if it knew its end was at hand. A smirk crossed the cocky Tieflings sharp featchers" It looks like your finally realizing who your triefling with aren't you?" He said with a small chuckle. The Tieflings moment of victory was stolen out form beneath him, what a fool he felt when the cackling laugher erupted from behind him. "damnit, its right behind me isn't it?" Cormyr said defeated. He and his devilish subordinate boath exploded into motion in an instant, each throwing themselves hard in oposite directions to avoid being hit by the pea sized sphere of fire that exploded upon contact with the large pillar the devil had been bracing itself against, obiterateing the stalagmite completely.
Cormyr was on his feet in an instant as was the bone devil, both turned to face the Balor. A dark aura of power surrounded the cackling humanoid. Lurid flames danced over its deep red flesh, almost as a warning not to get to close, as if they needed one. In one of its massive clawed hands the creature beared a sword that looked sharp enough to cut evnen the soul, in the other it held a whip licked by toungs of fire.
" s**t!" was the only word that escaped the Tieflings lips as the towering balor disappeared. Instinct alone saved him as he threw himself hard forward, the monsters wicked blade passing so close to the top of his head he could feel the wind from the swipe. Down he went, prone on his belly before the creature, but it did not press the attack, it merely began anew its spree of cackling laugher. It was playing with them.
Once again he exploded into motion, twisting his legs around flip over onto his back and, with one quick roll, he regained his footing, backpetting quickly to escape the range of that Mennising blade. His eyes focused into a sharp glare, he did not like being mocked.

a slight grin.
"I thought I was always fancy? well alright.."
So he got up, and hauled his naked elven self over to the closet, opened it up, walked in, and opened up the back of it. that's where all the 'fancy' stuff was. or at least fancy for Neriak and Norrathian terms. might not be really fancy here.
"So do you want fancy party favor or fancy cerimonial?"

As if he knew she was contemplating on that piece of hair, he pushed his braid over his shoulder so that it hung down his back. Did he really know? No, it was just a common place 'put it out of my way right now' thing. "Well that's good, practice makes purpose after all...or so I am told and it's been proven to me."
He tilted his head in quite the open matter at her. After all, what drow would tilt his head enough to expose his neck so? For a moment though he couldn't find his words...her eyes keeping his attention. Why always those? He'd seen purple eyes before, not like they were new or anything. Though a blink at her obviously forced laugh before he latched to her question.
A lop sided grin and a chuckle, unexpectedly would come from him. "Yes I can...but I find them fascinating to read over none the less. My runes barely look anything like the ones in the books anymore, though that's the trait of a Master. Rather than study...I work on trying to figure new uses and combinations. I use runes everyday that I can, as easily as you breath."
"You only think you're always fancy. Sometimes you're not so. You weren't aware?" A little chuckle, crossing her legs and leaning back on her hands some as he got up, enjoying the view for the moment. "Fancy enough to match me but not outshine you. I shall not have your gorgeous elven self outshining me. Not at all, I won't tolerate it." Followed by a laugh of course. Though either way he'd outshine her, he was just more comfortable eing fancy than she was...but she figured she try to get back into the swing of it, after all she was going ot be wife to Malik D'Vinn. Seemed the D'Vinn line liked to put on the utmost compsoed sense to the world. Hey she could do that.
