I feel as though I haven't done much lately, but I have; blah.
I've sent out loads of applications for work but am still struggling with a cover letter for my resume.
I made my first self-watering container for my soon-to-hopefully-be-awesome garden and planted cilantro, bell peppers, rosemary, corn, sunflowers, and tomatoes in a miniature greenhouse made from recycled plastic egg cartons.
Transplanted a pepper of unknown type to a larger pot. Brought home a pineapple top from work to attempt to re-pot and grow it.
Made my second loaf of bread everrrrr which turned out a zillion times better than my first since I actually allowed it to rise enough, lol.
My 5gal container collection is now at 9 which means I have technically met my goal but I may just go for an even 10 and be happy. XD

Today, I did a bunch of things. When I finally got up and running around, my mom and I went to visit a store called Pak In Pink to look at wigs, scarves, and hats (I was diagnosed with Hogdkins Lymphoma the 15th and we want to get an idea of things before I lose my hair, if I do). While there, I learned that I might not even lose my hair during chemo treatments. After that my mom and I went to Micheals to get ribbon and barrel clasps for my new craft obsession: pop tab bracelets. xp Then we went home because it started storming. But once the storms calmed down we went to Dollar General and I got more coloring books. whee Another one of my silly obsessions. I love to color. Now, this old pervert is at my house so I'm distracting myself on the computer. But I've had a pretty eventful day, don'tyathink? 3nodding

heart heart Hopefully this was caught early? Good to hear that you may not lose your hair! (If it's any thing, I sometimes wear a wig and no one can tell the difference.)

Yesterday, (meaning Fathers Day) my dad taught me how to do some basic repairs on my bike. You know, things like changing the tires, break pads and fixing the seat. Now my old bike looks almost brand new!

Oh and I got my apartment garden going. Pear tomatoes plants, sage, orange mint, and spearmint were added in. Had fun at the farmers market on Saturday too, which is where I got those plants along with some honey, rhubarb, onions, radishes, and a nice sweet cranberry orange seasoning for cream cheese! And I also got to sample some soap and cheese made from sheep's milk too. It was pretty tasty!

Wow, a lot has happened since I have been on! Where to start?

@IileyahWithTheStars: Hopefully you won't lose your hair. If you do, maybe you can take your new craft obsession to scarves and hats? Could be fun! (The crafting- not the potential hair loss lol) I love to craft, so make sure to post pics in the arts/ crafts forum I can steal your ideas biggrin (just friendly teasing) In all seriousness, I wish you a very quick and easy recovery and will keep you in my thoughts.

@Pirhan: Your boss sounds just awful. I have definitely had my share of those. Hopefully something better will come along soon (I see you're sending out resumes and I'm sure one of the places you sent one to will realize you're too great of a person to pass up.)

@Wolfen26: I need to learn to fix my bike, but unfortunately my dear dad may be a part of my poor bikes problem rofl

@Teh_plague: One of my besties has insomnia. I can always count on her to be awake in the middle of the night when I need her. I know how hard it is on her, though. I'd offer advice but she says absolutely nothing she has tried has ever worked for her. Everyone is different, so hopefully you'll get some rest soon. I know you've had difficulties with your current job, so I'll wish you luck finding a new one, too. (Several of us seem to need some luck in the job dept lately)

@Everyone that has posted about your garden: I am so jealous of you right now. It has been over 100 degrees F here fairly consistently for the past 3 weeks. In addition, we are in an "extreme" drought. Several wildfires have broken out in my area (not normal for here- we normally worry about floods this time of year). Everything looks parched and dry. The seedlings that I have started so far have not made it crying but I still have a few seeds left to start. I have been saving the containers from store-bought cakes, jars, etc to make terrariums to start the seeds in. We are under watering restrictions, so anything I grow will have to be indoors until it is well established.

We are also under a burn-ban and a fireworks ban. No bar-b-que or fireworks for Independence Day. Bah. Better a ban, though, than a freshly toasted house.

Well, we don't quite know what stage I'm in. But we do know I'm either stage 2 or 3 because I have the cancerous lymphnodes in my chest, both sides of my neck, and my underarms.
But that's good. Makes me feel a bit more comfortable about it.

ZOMG! There were two hoverflies in my patio garden today! I'm also going through my pots and putting all the varieties together. Baby spireas. Tomorrow I'll probably gather up all my bebe roses into one pot.

On the weekend I also got soil for my indoor plants and took them from the Gel2Root to soil. They're all looking good so far. (These were the plants that went through the car fire.)

Yesterday I was walking the cat mongrels and one of the neighbours stopped. We chatted about cats for thirty minutes.

Thanks! Thankfully it's mellowed out now. Also, my co-workers think he's a bit of a n00b so at least I'm not alone. He got freaked out on the weekend about planter pots and was messaging me. Got that done on Monday. I never planted those before and I had to pick out the plants under strict but wishy washy instructions. (He's not too clear on his objectives.) Turned out really good: before - after (we had two identical ones). The one by the door: before and after. Today he quickly mentioned that I probably did a better job than he. xd

That's crazy about the weather. Seems like all 'round is crazy weather. It's been cool and wet here.

At work yesterday we lost our electricity for about 3 hours. The cashiers, baggers, deli department people, and produce and bakery people all got to sit up front and drink free soda's and chit chat with the store owners and managers while me and the other stockers were told to get back to work stocking the shelves...in pitch black...with razorblades in one hand and a flashlight in the other. Needless to say i was extremely displeased and i made that displeasure known to the managers and owners by talking very loudly about how much they sucked and how lazy everyone else in the store is. Then this morning i got a phone call from work telling me that they had lost electricity all night last night and everything in the dairy, frozen, and meat departments had to be thrown out. Probably should have listened when i told them they should move everything to the big freezers in the back room and turned the temperature lower just in case.

So i learned that apparently its not worth listening to me when i tell them what they should do but then when it turns out i was right and they've let around $50k get destroyed they want me to come in at 8pm on friday night and work until midnight replacing everything in those departments and then come back at 7am...nah i think not.

Things are a bit scarier. Turns out I'm stage four lymphoma because it's in my lungs.. And my doc wants chemo started next week. So, within the next week, I'll be having my second surgery this month and a bone marrow biopsy.. It's weird having everything change so fast when I thought I was just a healthy kid.

Well, it really all started in October when the first knots popped up on my neck. But my dad and the men on his side of the family have the same. So we thought nothing of it. And then more came up on the other side of my neck and under my arms. We didn't have insurance at the time and had to wait til the first of June to be able to see the doctor. If finally got in the doctor's office the 2nd. He sent me to Kennestone for a biopsy.. What a fun surprise for the mother and daughter hoping for antibiotics. And a week after the biopsy, I was diagnosed. So, a long story short..
Everything should go well. Chemo will last 6-8 months and unfortunately I will be losing my hair... But whatever. :]

Knots!? D: like obvious big ones?

But I hope everything wil go smoothly. You'll won't have any hair but that means you can start sporting some awesome hats and wigs. smile

Today I learned that the Schwan's Ice Cream Company runs their refridgerated trucks on liquid propane. The company converted their trucks from gasoline to propane during the gas shortage of the 70's and it is still a tradition even to this day. They even have a subsidiary company that sells converter kits for engines to convert from gasoline to propane.
