Seeing the threat return to its origin the monster exposed itself to the wind and the fire, making Katara vulnerable to both and probably get hurt, with expanded wings. The wind made the monster’s back crush deeper into the wall, which would mean the part of Katara that hung over to the back would most likely get hurt too, while the monster inhaled the fire back inside her through the mouth and literally eat it. The monster then lowered its wings once again, covering Katara from view.
A larger and blacker puff of smoke came from the monster’s nose, this time it had more of a spark to it.

Zuko's eyes widened in realization as Aang redirected the attack. "Aang, that's too dangerous!" He raised his arm, doing his best to block Katara from the fire. It was an enormously awkward task, as there was no root to follow from, but he managed somewhat decently. Her being crushed he could not prevent. "We need to get Katara away from the monster before she gets killed!" He picked up his broadsword off of the floor. The kunai in his right, the broadsword in his left.

A sickening snap sounded from Katara's leg as it was crushed between the wall and the monster. Her hand twitched, but other than that, there was no other sign of her being in pain. She was out cold.

:Rage drew out his dagger, gripping tightly around the handle of his blade. He tossed the dagger to Zuko's side, rushing close behind with a forward thrust to his side.: You have more than that to worry over...

Zuko's eye widened in realization as he barely saw the glinting metal flinging towards him. He twirled around and the dagger clanged against his remaining broadsword. He wished he had something witty to say in return, but he didn't, so he stayed silent.

:As the dagger was deflected, Rage changed his course, following the rocochet. He jumped in the air, bringing the back end of his boot around and into the spinning dagger. The dagger deflected back towards Zuko once again, Rage tossing Iden's dagger simultaneously. He landed on his feet, running at the man in full sprint and jumping up before meeting in close combat. Rage came down with a thrust of his sword, aimed at Zuko's chest under the cover of the two thrown diversions.:

:Iden runs up and grabs his dagger midair which Rage foolishly threw.: Rage, this is a close combat dagger, not a throwing one. :Iden sees Rage fighting Zuko.: Hmm.

Zuko visually took the moves which he would have to block against and with a deep breath and a swing of his sword, he created a huge countering blast of fire. It swallowed and deflected the remaining flying object with its life force and came directly in Rage's path.

:Captures Zuko's fire blast in a fire orb and directs in at the wall putting it out.: How sad. Fighting with bending is boring. Using Weapons and Bending is fun though. :Jumps behind Rage, then sits against the wall.: All yours.

:Rage's left hand gripped the dagger's handle awkwardly, but he managed to keep it in his grasp. He quickly crossed both arms before himself, guarding his face and letting the blast carry him backwards. The assassin rolled back quickly, landing against a wall and slamming the back of his head over the rocky surface. Rage stood slowly, eyes dangerously over Zuko. He righted his dagger in a fluidic motion, bringing both blades in and swinging them out as if he were sending a blade of chi forth. Which he was... in the form of red flame.:

[That's what Toph thinks. When I flew up, she hid, and I flew off to recover. I was heading back when I heard voices and fighting. So, I came this way. And I found you guys]
