I don't mind the Irish.

Not until they start being like "LOOK AYE! I'M ******** IRISH! I DRINK! IRELAND!"

I don't see Asian people go around saying "Look at me! I CAN'T DRIVE!"
Or whatever.

so why would you thrust with something that can collapse?

it's like using a flaccid p***s to enter tight v****a... both parties will just be disappointed.

I don't think you know what flaccid is. If anything a telescoping p***s would have further penetration. If you have the right support for the telescoping, like some sort of lock-in function and a reasonably durable material, the collapsing won't be a problem.

Telescopic spears don't work in real life.

But more importantly, they look really gay.

You know why that weapon doesn't exist?

A) If you have secure it to stay in position, why make it telescopic to begin with? Seeing as the more parts something has, the more opportunities it has to be compromised.

B) The shaft of the spear is made to have some kind of give...a telescopic wouldn't have that.

Also most spears actually have a dulled or rounded point which makes penetration into a flat malleable surface very difficult.
