Piper gave a laugh as a winged one was first to make it to the top of the stiars, giving his wings a flutter in his accomplishment. The tempest was not far behind, though her ego bruised at not being first, and the other two were quick to follow, all four pretty giddy as they had all conquored the stairs. Pets for all of them before a whistle, getting them to follow. "You know...I'm beginning to hate him even more. He had to make this so difficult and what not. Damnable drow. They can be quite the pain in the neck." Thus the same proces was done to the upstairs walls.
Ha stairs, that was another thing to cross off the ever growing list of things they were conquering. Once hoof placement had been figured out, it wasn't so hard. And again they were merely following Piper around. The place was a treasure of wonders indeed, seeing as they had never been in a house before. But soon enough whistles were drawing them back and they were facing another test...going down the stairs. Of course those with wings made it down faster and easier with the aided balance and once all four were again on the ground floor, another round of pets, this time with sugar were given.
"Looks like I've got quite the brave little herd on my hands, doens't it." A look around the place for a moment with a sigh. "Well little ones I think that takes care of Sevilin's listening in. Though now I have to find other ways to entertain you now don't I? Oh well, you're nothing but a bunch of children, easy enough to handle...so then, snacks first?" And she took to walking to the kitchen.
Snacks. They all knew that word and with a few nickers, with some pushing and shoving on who got to follow first, after all there was a pecking order in which a Tempest wanted to be the rightful one to be in front.

Destroyed. well well...that ment Roarke was homeless.
"I see. if you want, you can send invitation for Roarke and those with him to stay at the fortress with me. his students can find a place here as well. that is if they are willing to add Necromancy to thier teaching...in this instance, perhaps somone others with the knoweldge of that art might catch things we might miss."
patting Nightmare on the neck.
"if there are shadows there, I can get to it. I just need to know where it is. and why can't you travel there? You have great speed. I woudl think that you coudl bypass most defenses."
"Well...if the sky father is kinda of a..god of the dead, we'll lets loook in the sections of this place studing gods, and dead things."
then heading over that way, alot of these books were very large and ornate covers, and very, very thick.

Thrahaja chuckled, lips peeling back in a dragon smile. "No offense, Fortress Master, but the First Mage forbids necromancy. We hold to that. More than likely the Acadmey will be rebuilt where it is, on blessed ground. But the invitation for housing would be greatly appreciated I am sure." He turned around.
"Borphious, bring the invitation to master Roarke." He winked. "And be quick about it." Borphious, a red dragon, laughed and mounted up his rider, taking off and zooming away.
He went back to looking serious. "A place full of shadows, a place I am forbidden to tred. A place I knew of, but not know where." A claw thrust over his shoulder. "The General knows. And the Wizen knows as well."
She followed. "A better start, I suppose, then looking through this mass." The came to the section that had books with gods and god referneces in them. How many gods were there in the underdark..."There are a lot of deities here in Labyrinth. The Earth Mother and the Sky Father aren't always the most popular. It changes with the times. We might not find much."

This was a humrous sight. In the main room, sat Piper. And standing before her in a perfectly little ranked line, were four foals with ears perked and eyes glued to the elf. Or rather, what the elf had in hand, happened to be apple slices in one bowl and then meat chunks in the other, had to appease them all. "Alright now...step back." A push to each of thier snouts, getting them to step back. Then a repeat of the command until they took steps back on thier own. When one did it, it got a treat, adn the others seeing that followed suit. A whislte then to bring them close and back in line. "See, learning isn't so bad now is it? Shall we try again? Step back."

"Then the General needs to come ot his senses. I owe Dimitri..and I would prefer to give Ton and Eca a peice of my mind. I gave up something valuable for that blessed blade. and it apparently didn't do what it was supposed to do."
reguarding the dragon in the same seriousness.
"Necromancy is my area of study. however..if he forbids it, then I'll have to rely on my own mages for it..and hope we don't miss anything. As for this forbidden buisness. Why would you be forbidden? and why would you heed any word of mortal man?"
A small smirk.
"The dark one, Dimitri...of what I was told is true, and his son, Din, are the ones that need found. There are those attempting to track din. but Dimitri is mine, and mine alone. I want to make him suffer in whatever new body he's found."
Tanundra is subdued, Chev'. however..we should get things prepared for guests. He destroyed the Academy..and I won't leave Roarke defenseless.
Onyx chuckled lightly.
"You obviously don't know Malik. Gods of death, pestilence, the dead, the dying..pain. hate, fear...these are the gods that we'll find mostly around here. gods of other influence..liek the earth mother, or gods of love, passion, life...those woudl be the ones we'd have trouble finding. save for Tunare. the goddess of growth has a special place with him..though you'd have to ask him why."
A small smile over to Whirlwind.
"In my Father's home plane...there was somewhere around I think twleve or so deities. at least. he talked to us about them..thier names and influence, so we coudl not be decived by a name we didn't know. for example..the Church of Terris doesn't sound bad..unless you know that Terris Thule is the goddess of nightmares."

Piper's little bout of giggling at foals was ended as that familiar pitch came through her head before Malik's voice followed it. A little worried look at the news of the Academy...seemed things were just getting worse. "I'll get things set in motion then, A'mael." Emptying bowls by handing out treats, she whistled for them to follow to keep them out of trouble as she went to the kitchen where it was common place to find Keely. Of course Piper didn't have to say anything for the girl to put down what she was doing and see what Piper wanted. "Keely, I want this place readied for guest...perhaps a lot of them. And I want it started now. That means sheets on beds, stocked everything, and I want the place cleaned up too. That means everyone works, no one is an exception." That said, knowing she didn't need to throw order around anymore and Keely would spread that word, she got foals to stay in one spot downstairs before she went to her room and fetched her leash, pulling it on. Sure, it didn't work but it made a good fake out for the master one. And hey...there was a known division between MAlik's own and her own, so she was going to bluff just in case one of them wanted to not follow orders. She'd pretty up later for impression's sake if need be. Back downstairs to manage things.

"He will come to his senses...when he hears the Oracle. At least, as far as we know that is what happened last time. For now, these ropes will hold him, and we will keep an eye on him." He gave a little shurg on the news about Malik's blade, as he was not familiar with the story, but neither did he ask about it. Not his buisness.
He didn't say anything in regards to his master's masters.
"On the surfacre world we experianced very odd things when we used necromancy. It seemed that the more we raised the dead, the more the living died. For every soul that was forced back into a body, a soul seemed to be ripped from another. Mind you, this was only after thousands of years of using it...but the dead quickly outnumbered us living, and their intent slowly became clear to us. We would not be able to control the dead forever. Then we lost the surface, and the Mage greatly feared loosing what few people had survived. He forbade necromancy from us, and we complied, happily."
She rolled her eyes. "I make soemthing of a habit to not get to know Malik too closely." She pulled down a book, sat on the floor with her back against the bookcase, started flipping through pages. "Meilliki said he brought a deity with him that has never worked on this plane before. She was afraid that it may be upseting some kind of balance here."

"We don't have time to wait for that. we'd have to free her for that kind of contact and apparently he's the only one that knows the most likely place she is."
Though listening about the necromantic effects they had experienced.
"That's where you went wrong. and it's where a lot of necromancers go wrong. You don't put souls into the dead..you animate them through power. the common necromancer should only be able to at most create six undead without the aid of powerful magical talismans. Like myself. I can raise armies, becuase I have an item that gives me that power. but they are souless. they do what they are instructed to do, without any mind to compel them."
Though a smirk.
"That is not to say I don't work with the souls of those living and dead. but it's another area of study. too many younger necromancers blend the two. it's true, you get far more powerful undead..but it's not worth the risks."
but enough of that.
"Tanundra is a pawn in this game..or maybe a bishop, for the sheer power he brings to the board. But the enemy knew what woudl happen. he knew that cutting off contact woudl drive Tanundra to madness, and that Tanundra is the only being that knows how to get to where he most likely is. a perfect way to prevent intrusion and distract and divide your foes."
"Innoruuk. the Prince of Hate, creator of the Tier'dal. Though I don't see how that would interfere too much. that Diety only influences members of the race he created, though others worship him. his daughter was Tier'dal, malik is Tier'dal...other than that he has never spread direct influence beyond his own plane."
Flipping through more pages.
"But lets say your correct..and Innoruuk has some kind of power here due to Malik's worship or faith. and the faith of the Tier'dal with him, hsi necromancers. what kind of effects do you think we'd see?"

Thrahaja shook his head. "It's not that we made mistakes, Fortress Master. This plane had simply been denied the abilite to raise the dead without a soul. Which is why the lich frightened so many people in his time. Who gave him the power to raise the dead as empty, loyal husks?"
Dragon smile. "It's rather plain that you are not from this world. You necromancy is far different from our own. And from the Lich's, I'd think."
A look over his shoulder to his general. "He will calm down, once he sees that he cannot free himself, though the madness will remain. Dimitri was ever so thorough." A glance back at malik. "You work with mind, yes? Can you conjure an image in the Gerneral's head?"
"I didn't see what difference it would make either, and I aksed about that. Meilikki said she wasn't certain if mortals would see any difference, or even notice the after effects. She was afraid that it may cause a tip in the balance of power, favoring 'bad' powers and leaving 'good' too weak." She was sure to enphasise the quotes around good and bad, as everyone knew how fine those lines were.
"A power struggle over who controls what."

Meanwhile, Piper pretty much had the place under control...even with the little line of foals that followed her around, all proud of themselves from thier little accomplishments of the day. Not to mention she was getting tabs on everybody via Keely. Onyx and Aella were still down in the library, Zahara it seemed was down in the spas. Well good, she knew where everyone was. And once that was done, Keely had been sent off to make sure rooms that were currently favored weren't taken by someone else, namely the twins' rooms, Zahara's and the one her father favored. Yeah she had this down pretty good. So there Piper was, sitting in the main room with her horses, watching the goings on of the moment.

Malik nodded lightly.
"I see. interesting."
then a nod.
"I can work with the mind, through Malvolence. You have a plan I take it for making him lucid enough to give out the information that is needed?"
"As to that...wouldn't the dieties that Piper or Kieran has faith in kind of...counter balance that? and Innoruuk, as it says here..assaults only those of his own ilk for dominance. which means he'd only go after another 'god of hate' here and try to take his place."
A shrug.
"The Pantheon of norrath learned the hard way about there needing to be a balance of powers, after they removed thier influence from norrath for a short time. a vampire lord, named Mayong Mistmoore..found a way to deify himself, and waged a war on the other gods. since then...they are more careful about how they balance power. this Sky father wouldn't happen to be a diety of hate, would he?"

"Yes. If you can project an image of his Oracle, he may speak to her." He rubbed a claw against his cheek. "Though even in this state, the dragon isn't stupid. Ask to many questions that the Oracle already knows, he may grow suspicious. His madness won't fade either, he may be incoherent."
"And Tanundra cannot speak human tounges, save for one or two words."
She shrugged. She didn't pretened to understand the workings of gods. "It depends I suppose. Piper's gods ay have balanced it, unless they are not as strong here, or maybe one of gods is losing their power."
But she looked to her hands, rubbing them a bit. "I don't know anything really, about the Sky Father. Their religion is rather closed, those not in it don't know of it. I worship the Earth Mother, so I am especially in the dark."

"Simple enough. and it's not about asking questions, it's requesting information to be given. and as long as I am in Tanundra's mind, so to speak, I can decipher his language. to the mind, words are words. there are no language barriers there."
so lets give this a shot. again focusing through Malvolence, though he got off Nightmare, letting her inspect the dragons, just in case her thoughts might interfere. start out faint. the oracle's voice, a faded, wavering image.
Tanundra? can you hear me?
Onyx shrugged lightly.
"I think I might find something sooner or later. too bad we can't but in on the inter diety politics and try and get a good idea of what is going on. here's a book marked Gods of the Dead...see if you can find something? I'll dig through these Dieties of Necromancy books."

Thrahaja shrugged and stepped back. "I did not think it wise to bring yourself that close to the mind of the insance. Sometimes it can be painful. But suit yourself."
There was some quick thrashing when he heard her voice, his claws shacking on the ground, diging little ruts. He wasn't certain he saw her at first, wasn't certaqin he heard the voice at all.
Meilliki? Where are you, Meilliki?
"Yeah, sure." She took the book offered and sat down in a chair, getting comfortable, and opening it up. There was more than one god of the dead, all preforming various tasks and having various powers. Which one was she looking for? The Sky Father obviously but she wasn't certain what types of things he did.
"Gods of dead souls, gods of non-dead souls, gods of flesh...uh, this is creepy."

I don't know....I can't see anything. I'm kept in a room..no windows..only one door. I don't have my sight here, Tanundra.
then wavering it in and out, like she was struggling to maintain this connection.
Dimitri..I don't know how...but he survived. I'm his prisoner...I'm surrounded by the Sky Father. You know where I am..? Tell the others. whomever will listen. I can't keep this going, Tanundra. I need you to be my voice to those that will help free me. and I worry for Aella..
Fading it out, the image fading, then trying to refocus, and struggling.
Malik was listening. he had to make this look like a struggle to get to him. and he knew about the minds of the insane..if fact, the one he'd gotten this power from in Malvolence had been insane. it was easier to control the insane.
Onyx looked over at her.
"Creepy is hardly the word for that. check out some of these. the god of blood..gods of decay, insanity, torture. adn they all back necromancers. can you imagine what a necromancer devoted to a goddess of torture would do to you? geeze makes my stomach turn just thinking about it."
