ele360 Oh wait, maybe its not. @DBL, I did not see a profile for it but do you know if anyone has taken Gambit? Ah good ol Gambit, nope I don't believe anyone has. In fact very few of the x-men are played. I've seen Blitz (from the young-x), Xavier, Jean Gray, some psychic twins (think they where in the young-x series as well), Emma Frost, aaand I think a few others but very few of the original team.

Eh the Horsemen was a temporary thing though wasn't it?
I'd say from an RP perspective the original would be easier to carry on in a story.
Currently they're going through a civil War Arc.
Norman Osborn is leading the charge with the government by assembling x-villains as the new Avengers and demanding registration. This is partially because Violator (Aka The Clown) led a mass possession in Gotham and has been making deals left and right slowly guiding the world towards Chaos by manipulation events and important figures behind the scenes to rally hatred and fear of the unregistered while at the same time encouraging those not registered to fight back for their rights (he just wants death and general mayhem after all, doesn't really care which side wins).
The justice league remained mostly unregistered and was recently busy fighting the avengers in the tower.
Gear (from static shock I do believe) activated the orbital laser to strike back at the Avengers tower and of course Violator who's been watching the whole thing decided to "try" to swat him aside and change the beams course (to where though who knows, it won't be good for anyone though if he does =D)

There's no real set story line, but they do big "story line" type events where they basically announce that such and such is occurring and anyone that wants to be involved can. There's also alternate dimensions, etc in the sub-forums for people that want to play other things.

So an ally does not die, but are they unusable for the rest of the battle? And they 'come back alive' if they rest when you do?

Dark Bunny Lord Beanpole you shouldn't just forgoe the check and go unconscious (you can forgoe the check but the results can be easily much better than what you are choosing to do). I'll show you what forgoing it would do because depending on how much you fail or succeed your crit check by determines what happens, there is no standard unconsciousness just when you hit a certain amount only if you fail your check by a certain amount. So lets break down those numbers. You're at -278 Stamina. Your normal full Stamina is 19 (the x100 doesn't factor in). So 19x2 (stat x2) is 38. 38 vs 278 = -240 or -24% (50%-24% = 26%) So your check would be 26 or under. So with the numbers above if you rolled 27-35 you'd suffer Cold Crit 0 36-45 Cold Crit 1 46-55 Cold Crit 2 56-65 Cold Crit 3 66-75 Cold Crit 4 76-85 Cold Crit 5 86-95 Cold Crit 6 96-100 Cold Cirt 7 Unconsciousness on a Cold Crit is not achieved until you hit Cold Crit 7. So are you ABSOLUTELY certain you want to forgo this and take the absolutely worst possible roll? (which if you roll has only a 4% Chance of even occurring) Because honestly he's still going to be hitting you with those AOE's as he flies by anyways (since you're bodies still in the way) so it won't really save you from death. woah I did not know that thanks dbl going to make the check.
