So vista decided it wanted to play mind games with me and the mic and camera aren't totally working. So it's going to be at least till tonight I can do anything with them, and by then it'll be too late to fill. So, hopefully by tomorrow, Monday the latest, things will be worked out.

No, I mean breaking as in taking the original concept of the game and breaking it. Take MMOs that make "Support classes" for example. I take those "Support" classes, and go solo with them, and FIND WAYS to succweed, despite the fact that they are not suppose to be used that way to uphold supposed "Game balance" Basically, if I can't usurp the balance of a game, then it is fine. And a lot of MMOs have had that balance broken by me. As well as regular, non-internet games.KH and rogue galaxy, like some I admire, I am going to break those by playing through the whole games and not taking a single hit. There is much more to it, but I don't feel like trying to explain it. Though you are referring to breaking like when I use a codebreaker to hack Donald and Goofy in KH2 to replace them with Bosses, to make triple bass battles vs. Sora alone.

And I know you are not going MMO, I figured it was a game period that could be played on the comp and had actual playable characters in it. I really don't get into RTS for the most part, Warcraft is alright but you actually wore them out for me somewhat with the Fan-made Starcraft rooms. DBZ and NAruto? I mean, this is suppose to be a WAR game, not a "ruin the game with my obsessions" game. And no, eva I can see, because they had things that could pass for Angels and evas.

Also you should broaded your horizons a little, RTS is good, butif you want to take off, try having a bit more variety, or your company will just become another "Amatuerish attempt to make a new RTS" in the eyes of many, and most people will dismiss it for more successful companies like Blizzard. Speaking of which, take a look at Blizzard; they are extremely successful, not just because of Warcraft and Starcraft, but because of Diablo and WoW as well. You have the potential, but you need good framework; a single game is not going to get you noticed, and not quickly enough either. You have to have stuff to fall back on, and the game has to be complete and finalized before you even make the demo. Of course, this is all just my opinion based on my knowledge and the facts already present, considering you lready went through school for this, you have certifications that will make it easier for you to take off with this.

Just wanted to give my twosense, if you don't like it oh well, I spoke my mind at least. I'd like to get a demo when you make one though, so I can give it to Albert and Mondo to test out. If anyone can test out an RTS, they can, as they play starcraft, warcraft, and others all the time(Like, LITERALLY all the time) and they are quite good at those games. If they like it, then the majority of players will like it, as Albert has extremely high standards with games, and if there is even a tiny minute little flaw or problem he WILL notice it.

I will be working on the tournament setup, as to who will go against each other. Now if only we could pass the RP more quickly...

Oh, you mean just finding new ways to play a game that makes you seem godly. Yea I did that in WoW and RO all the time:

For RO I was the only Assassin Cross I knew of that used a sword and dagger combonation; the two combined give it an unusual damage output. The sword slows down his initial hit, but deals high damage, while the second strike (with the dagger) hits a lot faster for a bit smaller damage. Top that on with a poison spell, and it's lethal even to Sinx's that use katars. (Due to you can get up to 8 card slots if you wanted)

An example from WoW would be I was also the only one I knew who played a DPS 2-handed Sword Crit Warrior. (In a nut shell, I try to deal constant damage while using a two handed sword weapon and hitting for critical damage each time.) This set up was hell on earth that got laughed at till it came time to face it: the warriors have a lot of passive buffs for their swords, so I used a sword instead of an axe like most (The only real passive buff for the axe based warrior is a higher crit chance, where as the sword has increased chances to parry, as well as chances to land two hits with one strike), then I would give him agi based swords to increase his attack speed, thus giving him the edge in pumping out more attacks; plus, where they are among the two classes that can wear the highest defense armor, not only can he take the damage, but he can reflect a lot of it as well. Casting classes dont stand a chance to it, and it's amazing for PvE, the only thing to really counter it is a pure defensive based Warrior.

And nix what I said about not having the vid, litterally just filmed it (got everything working) and I am splitting it into two parts and then uploading them. so within an hour or so, they should be posted.

An RTS wont be our only line of game series. After We Will Rise As 1, we're working on Legendcy which will be a RPG Fighting game. And after that we planned on working on an unnamed sci-fi MMO, something you dont see often. Trust me, we got it all planned out.

Your Blizzard arguement is flawed, however. Their first game that took off, Lost Vikings, was fairly well recieved, and is what really got the company known. There had been 8 games the company made before hand that were'nt popular at all, and four games later is when Warcraft, their next hit actually came out, then Diablo, then soon came Starcraft. The only reason I see for WoW being popular, is mindless brand followers play it because it's A. Blizzard and B. it's warcraft. (This was Bob's main reasoning, till i finally snapped him out of it with Team Fortress 2)

Let me know what us know what you plan on for the fights for the tournament so we can start discussing plots for it.

And I just noticed your thoughts on WC custom games. Naruto Wars/Third Shinobi Wars, and DBZ Tribute though great maps, aren't all I play. Perhaps the most addicting custom map I play (and is about the only map that I will brag and call myself a true pro in), is Castle Fight. A rather unique strategy based map where you can pick a race of units to construct, build their base building, and the computer takes over to do all the tedious unit control for you: all you have to worry about is out strategizing the other team.

Typically, I play with these game commands on: -rr3, -nt, -nt, -envice. What they mean is -rr3 = you play till one side wins three rounds, and in each round you recieve a randomized builder. (Picking is for noobs), -nt = no taxes. There's a tax system in the game where periodically the game takes a small portion of tax from you based on your number of buildings and their tax rates. Though it does make the game harder, it's meaningless is there's coins on. which brings us to -nc = no coins. Normally, coins would spawn to give you free gold to spend. The main reason for them is to give you a chance to get back gold you lost from taxes. But this is more of a pain then anything if you have greedy team mates. And finally, -envice is just a fun little command that turns the scenery from a medival summer into a frozen winter. Theres also a lava based one, but its painful on the eyes.

There's a strategy for the Naga race that me and another guy have created into a must do strategy for pros, called the Play Pen. Basically, you set up Murloc camps in the corner of the map, and turn off most of the spawns, only keeping the unit spawns on the Murlocs that will get trapped in the Play Pen. (You go to the lower corner of the map and make half a box shape to close it off) Then in the top corner of the Play Pen, you put a Coral Statue to repair any damage that is going to happen to it, and to heal the Murlocs inside of it.

Now, what this does is it actually lures the artillery and debuffs of enemy buildings. Why? Becuase generally as the game mechanic goes, the buildings will typically (not always) target the highest concentration of units in a single area. Murlocs spawn two per building (thus, making four murlocs per spawn inside the playpen) thus it quickly builds up. The second greatest thing about the Play pen, is if the buildings blocking off the Murlocs exit gets destroyed, they'll have to try and survive an endless onslaught of Murlocs. (At four Murlocs per spawn, they spawn roughly every minuet. So within 5 mins, that's 20 murlocs already. Not exactly pleasant)

Not so much being goldy, but, I mean, like in Diablo 2, I play as a Puure Vit Werebear, I have Shockwave, Maul, Werebear, and armageddon maxed out, with a point in oak sage, one in Grizzly, one in Carrion Vine, and the rest(Aside from prerequisites) in lycanthropy. The only points in Dex and Str are for my weapon requirements. And I have already beat the game in Hell difficulty with EASE, when everyone told me I would have uber trouble, as well as told me it would be slow and tedious lvling. But, I used the players 8 code, and farming for runes and gems get me Enigma and delirium runewords by act 5 Nightmare, and Baal in NORMAL difficulty gave me an exceptional unique quarterstaff(Ribcracker) that I upgraded in the cube to elite. Very unorthodox, 1-dimensional supposedly char, but I kick a**. Right now I am working toward the keys to fight Uber Andariel for the last piece to Chaos Tristram, then Albert's necro and my Werebear are going in for kills.

And with ToP, I should be investing more points in agi and a LOT more in str, but I am going pure con(the games version of vit) with only a few points already spent in str and agi. Harder, but combined with Blood Bull skill lvl 10, my hp and defense are so high I can make it work out despite slower atk speed and lower damage output.

As for Blizzard, I know it took off with one game, but nowadays, people are more picky than they were in the 90s, so it is harder to get noticed. And with the constant coming out of crappy games, people are even more inclined to stick with already known goodies. And the Starcraft DBZ and Naruto maps just seriously, retarded. How can you name an army of forces after a single dbz char and s**t? It just gets retarded. Now, Eva I can see, since, some of those big things you fought could be ideas for "New angels in a new series of eva" and such, and armies fighting angels I can see as well. You do know Diablo 3 is finally in the making, right?
Don't you hate when you fight in a noob on SC/WC, and they get all high and mighty, and when you kick their a** they cry hacks?

As for the pairings of the tourney, I am still working on them, and there is time before it, so we should right now just do some character developments in the RP. Xiaeriene and NErgal will come back for a bit of it, afterward the idea was to have her drag Nergal back to Fortis along with Bardok, then have them all return just in time for the tourney. It will also give Xiaeriene and Bardok some time for drama involving their bumpy relationship(Or lack thereof) In the meantime, There will be a big school Ball two nights before the tourney, and if everyone attends, it will be some nice non-battle oriented rping for once.

That's the great thing about WC3 map making, the map editor is like a game engine all in its own. You can create complete custom maps and units. Even upload character skins you've made yourself.

And trust me, I know picky games, I'm one myself, lulz. But I find it's actually the older games I enjoy more then newer ones; granted there's some amazing ones (Gears of War, Team Fortress 2, Dynstasty Warriors 6, ect...) But all we see now are mindless shooters and half assed RPGs. Fightings games are almost unheard of anymore.

And yea, Bob and I figured out Diablo three was finally getting worked on when a site with the name Diablo3.com was bought by blizzard themselves, and on the offical blizzard site, there was hiring for 'project hydralisk'.

And man I love fighting noobs that cry hacks. I might've mentioned the story before, but there was one map of Anime Wars Allstars v3.1 I was playing one night (Wait no, I did mention a story like this one, but not this one), and I randomed and got my best character in it, Yusuke Urameshi. So, i went straight in to my build of godlyness (High armor with tons of mana and high attack speed) and I was raping the whole team we fought against, which was pathetic because they had Ichigo (Whom is designed as a nuker), and Neji (Designed to mana rape and hold enemies in place for the rest of the team to gank) and neither of them did much... The only one on their team of use had Sephiroth (Another nuke character), but my team mates would do a good job of keeping him busy.

Did I ever mention, Cambyses is only 4'3"? Making him the shortest character in the RP who is a teenager. He is not a midget, he is just short and burly. He is built like in the drawings. Speaking of which, I'll be uploading the bath scene between Cam and LEX once my buddy Mondo shades and colors it.

Vids are finally uploaded and ready to go:

Part One
Part Two

Part two shows off some basic sketches done for the game. And shows why I'm not on the art/design team...

Wow, you look like one of my friends. We call him Waldo. I never knew why we did, but we did. And you sound like a family friend. gonk

That glare man. When you get more, you should scan them and make a slide show. And the 360 coding should be simple. There are free programs for making XBox Live arcade games. And don't forget alpha and beta testing. The open beta testing.

Cat, that's a scary thought. Very scary.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 08, 2008 10:36 am

yea, I was reading a bit into the 360 coding and apperently it's very simular to PC coding, as well as the game engine we're working with currently (Torque) was designed to have the most lag free internet connection for battle; even dial up users should be able to handle a good 10 v 10 with thousands of units and structures active in game.

lol, why is that scary? They are just bathing. Cam and LEX are suppose to be best buds in the comic, is it so wrong for an android teen to wash the back of his best friend?

Well, sold some more useless dvds and my cube, with ddr as well. Made out like a bandit on the returns and fully researved the PS3 version of Soul Calibur 4 (I couldnt stand the idea of trying to play it on 360 >.> I need my D-pad) as well as picked up Digital Devil Saga and Yu Yu Hakusho The Dark Tournament ($3, you can't go wrong).

and i still got $18 left over, so I can grab freedom 2 once I see a used copy.
