"Well. they could have locked you in a room with a pair of armed guards and made sure you stayed there if they really wanted to."

But other than that he didn't say anything and took to relaxing again, before looking over slightly.

"So can we actually launder that and send it back to him now, before he starts to wonder what is taking so long to clean a shirt? provided that Zahara hasn't jumped on him yet?"

"I have no doubt you would of rescued me A'mael. Otherwise I wouldn't of been so bold." A little chuckle to that before a noise of distaste from her. "Yes yes, you can actually clean his damn tunic so he can have it back, they don't have to worry about washing out the activation stuff either." Thus is was handed off to one of the girls in the room that by this point in time, Piper had learned to phase out of her attention. She liked to turn a cheek to Malik's slaving anyway. That done she grabbed her own towel, reluctantly pulling herself out of the water and wrapping her towel around herself, studying what she had etched into her wrists. Ping of realization, her wrists were nice and visible with Sevilin's bruising, and she was still under the impression that Malik didn't know. "You better appreciate this..."

She continued petting over Nym, after all he'd already gotten a smile and a chuckle from him and she almost bent her head and actually nuzzled the little fuzzball. He'd become a constant companion, always around...well companion for Sev anyway. she was the stranger to the picture, the one who was trying to insert her way in. "No...not nearly often enough." She kept Sevilin's gaze and her brows knit at the brief flash of pain that entered into his eyes. She'd seen that kind of flash before and her hand came out of its own volition and she covered his where it rested. "But you escaped and that life is over now. You'll never have to go back Sevilin."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 19, 2006 7:03 pm

"I appreciate it more than you might at first think. and yes, I know about your wrists. you mentioned it in the kitchen and I took a look. Just another reason to put Sevilin under my thumb without having to risk him finding another employer should my attentions toward him become...unpleasent."

that was the tradeoff. he coudln't do anything overly vicious or violent..lest he find himself a runemage short and his enemy or enemies a runemage stronger. So he had to be a bit more careful in chastizing Sevilin, for now. but if Sevilin and Zahara had a child, that is a different game all together.

And of course, after the tunic was handed off, it took maybe fifteen minutes to launder it into pristine condition, and have it sent back to Sevilin by one of the older slaves that commonly worked in the laundry rooms.

He eyes merely held there, taking in some kind of comfort that they were offering him, whether he knew it or not. But his eyes soon broke with hers as they looked down at where her hand was covering his own on the table. So small, sitting on top of his almost delicately. But he didn't snatch his hand away like his mind screamed for him to. He wanted to feel her touch, soothing instead of harsh with malicious intent.

But it was her words that drew his eyes back to her own again, connecting ruby to amethyst and holding once more. And though his face spoke nothing, his eyes were betraying him as they always had and always would. There was the melancholy of the life he was forced to live in there, but a certain relief just from hearing the statement. For someone else to acknowledge that he wasn't just another thing to be used anymore, and perhaps because she was female drow herself...it brought all the more relief.

Why did she induce such thoughts to him? Was it Malik's drugging? Or perhaps the drow cousin was right and Sevilin's subconscious did desire her and crave from her things, and him being out of Llothian society did open a door of possibilities and the ability it re invent himself. Pity Sevilin didn't know how to even start at that, nor had the mind to think he could. Deny it he may, but his past still clutched him tightly and was still slowly strangling the life out of him.

Perhaps of it's own accord, his hand flipped and took hold of her, squeezing lightly in he universal form of comfort as he held her eyes in his, giving her a slight smile. It was a pleasant moment. "I guess you have too." Sure, he hated what she was, who she was...but she wasn't what his mind originally told him. She deserved his tolerance at least...or maybe it was just the drug. But darker things crept into his head and he slipped his hand from hers, as if keeping it there too long would get his fingers broken.

Though there was no time for an awkward or questioning pondering moment as his tunic was soon being handed back to him, clean as ever and no worse for wear. Oh good he didn't have to hurt anybody. Thus he unfolded it and took to slipping it back on.

"Oh...I hadn't noticed...what with your playing and all." Yes she was still heated about that. Usually Malik was one to follow through what he started and rarely did she object, so the change was indeed frustrated. Yes, spoil indeed in the bedroom...among other places. Drying herself off and wiping blood from her arm, she dressed once more and pulled down her sleeves, no need to tip Sevilin off. "You certainly are tolerate about him. My father uses a nickname for me and you punch him in the face, Sevilin marks me and you plan to gently chastise him." Was Malik that hell bent on keeping him around? She wasn't happy about it at all, but like it or not, they probably needed him. "I have to go catch Sevilin before he leaves and play the part of bitchy surface elf."

Zahara's breath caught when he actually squeezed her hand. He was doing that confusing her thing again, which by now she'd come to expect and yes embrace. It was who he was as confusing and strange as that might seem. Her hand slipped so nicely into his larger, warm one and she once again felt that familiar warmth generate in her stomach and spread out catching every bit of her body in its wake. She was enthralled by his gaze, she couldn't tear hers away, fingers encased, gazes locked, it was a moment. She wanted to know what had happened to him, she wanted to smooth the frown lines from his face wiht her lips and most of all she didn't want him to ever hurt that way again. She knew firsthand the pain that could be inflicted on an innocent soul at the hands of a society different from teh one they were in now and she knew too, the traumatizing that could occur by their unorthodox methods. Hell, she'd lived that very life herself. His hand left hers as he busied himself buttoning up his tunic and she felt disappointment wash through her. No! she wanted to scream. Take it back off. And take that chainmail off too. Let me see you, bare adn vulnerable. Once again a dream world as no drow ever let themselves be that vulnerable. It was asking to have a knife between your ribs. But she merely smiled and said, "Oh look, you got your shirt back." Of course that meant he was going to leave. But she didn't need him staying, he would only unsettle her more and confuse her. She didn't need that.

"Hey. if I didn't risk him working with say..Kimmuriel...there are several times now that I would have decked him. And once I have him in a position I can do that..rest assured I will."

But he laid in the water, and grinned lightly.

"the part of bitchy surface elf. should I come out and watch your performance? sound like it might be fun to watch."

Sevilin shrugged as he was reaching to the table, taking up belts and securing them back where they belonged on his person, composing himself as he liked to be. If one would pay attention they would probably note that Sevilin was compulsively orderly really. "I guess that's it for lessons today then isn't it? And see...it's perfectly tolerable when we play nice now isn't it?"

Thusly his hand was offered up to Nym again, who was quick to jump up, he liked riding on Sevilin rather than walking any day. "Who knows you may be rid of me sooner than you think at this pace."

She merely gave him a skeptical look about it all. Personally she would love to see Malik break in Sevilin's cheek bones, but Malik was playing cautious and she couldn't do it because Sevilin was faster in reaction than her. She was essentially getting stepped all over, but at least it helped in this situation. "Nothing too spectacular, I just have to throw some words and hope he wants to insult me back, then I'll have a reason to slap him. If you're looking for fireworks, there won't be any. But do follow if you please, might want to make sure I go through with this." After all, he had retaliation coming to him in some form but he didn't know that. Draping her towel over her shoulders to keep still wet hair from soaking her tunic, she mad her way upstairs, just in time to catch the tail end of goodbyes it seemed. Or however it was drow said their partings. "Oh so playing nice are we? Or does she finally have you trained to play with the other children. See, I knew you still knew all about being a pet. After all, who knows a pet better than another pet? Though better to be a lap dog than one help under a boot don't you say?" Oh that left a bitter taste in her mouth.

Sevilin's mood and demeanor did a three sixty when Piper came in the room, instantly taking against him and sparking him into hostile defensive mode. Just seeing the surface elf was enough to spark hateful flame, the fact that she was boasting about being a pet and throwing his once being one back in his face all in one breath was just aggrivating...well Malik wasn't around and he'd already gotten away with hurting her once, why not throw the bard back?

"Better to be a dog who's learned to attack rather than one who sits in laps all day. At least one of us has some use other than just the bedroom." He had to steel himself to say the words, but he did none the less. She was no better a pet than he had been. "And at least I broke my leash, while you still parade around in your collar. Ever loyal, never biting the hand that beat you. I wouldn't expect less from surface trash."

That made her frown. She had been expecting an insult back, but this was an attack of another sorts. It simply made her blood boil, which was good anyway...gave her the resolve she needed to go through with this plan, despite her protests against it. Clenching her fist she advanced on him, pushing up her sleeve right before she raised her hand back to slap him, bringing it back quickly, only to have him catch her by the wrist as she had hoped. The instant he touched her skin, she willed her blood to activate what she had earlier scratched into her skin and by chain reaction, the rune that was stitched secretly into Sevilin's shirt. Of course he wouldn't suspect or know until it was too late what she had just done.

Sevilin's eyes turned hard as he held the surface elf by the wrist, this time purposefully squeezing hard on her arm, bruising further what he had already started. "You've tried that once already today, you may want to find a new method before I break your wrist for you intolerance...and Malik won't save you either. After all accidents happen." That said he shoved her away and nodded to Zahara. "Study up for tomorrow." Then another spiteful look to Piper before he turned his back on both of them, walking away.

Well that worked nicely, though she rubbed at her wrist now. That had been a little painful and it was going to really smart and be tender now. She's have to wrap that or something. But as she watched Sevilin walk away with a smirk of her own, she turned to Zahara. Part two, to a plan she didn't want to be part of but could think of no better way. "I found a way to get that rune he put on you off." A lie so easily told...oh her conscience would get her later for this.

Malik had gotten out of the spas, and while SEvilin didn't know it, was simply just a tad down the stairs, listening. he heard the sound of his slapping his hand around her wrist, and gave a little smile. then a tilt of his head at the words to Zahara..interesting. Piper certainly had been doing her homework, hadn't she.

But he was keeping tally on the insults. and a few of them indeed made his blood boil a tad, and Piper probably knew it by the sudden jump in the Malvolence activity. trying to get it's master to use it, feed it on the runemage. But now he had a part to play as well, comign up and looking at Piper, tilting his head in a curious manner as if he hadn't heard a thing but felt somethign amiss about her.

"Sevilin's gone I take it...something wrong?"

Zahara smirked and nodded, "I suppose so, defintely nice than snapping at each other every few seconds." She was abruptly cut off though when Piper decided to come out and the fighting started. She was beginning to see why Piper got so upset when Zahara fought with Malik all the time. It was annoying to listen to them toss insults back and forth at each other. He rhand immediately reached for that dagger when Piper raised her hand and she caught herself in mid reach. What the hell was she doing? Had she actually been about to draw her dagger against her best friend? Over Sevilin? Well that bore thinking about now didn't it? Why would she be willing ot risk the only friendship she'd ever recieved to protect someone who really dind't like her anyway. It must be the instincts, after all a dead drow did not make a good bedmate, not that Piper would actually kill him but it was her protective tendencies rearing their heads. "Will you two cut it out?" she hissed at them both, watching in chagrin as Sevilin bruised Piper. She had to force herself to remember the mark she, herself, had placed on Piper wihtout trying before she got really upset with him for that one and hten he was gone. Turning to Piper and ignoring Malik completely, she raised an eyebrow, "What in the hell was that about ?!" Wait, she'd found a way to get the rune off of her? Hot dog! But that would wait, righ tnow she wanted an answer.

Oh she felt it alright, she had a while ago started to learn the difference between Malik's rational anger and then the irrational anger brought on by his sword that in turn affected her. After all, she didn't like it and if she didn't filter it and push it to the back of her mind, it would get the better of her just as it had Malik so many years ago. And she wasn't even wearing the thing, which spoke of Malik's strength in his resistance to his own sword. But when Malik decided to come play a part she looked to him. In accordance she played to his own part, pulling down her sleeve as if to try and hide what had happened. Oh she was starting to feel bad about all of this deception...but it was the way of the Underdark. "Nothing wrong...he's just being as a** as usual." But her attention went back to Zahara and she lightly shrugged. "He barbs at me all the time, he should learn to take what he himself gives, yes?" It was partially true. "But that's not important, what's important right now is that I can cancel out his minor runes." Again, lie. She was just going to overlap....it was for the best...right?
PostPosted: Wed Apr 19, 2006 9:47 pm

Well it was kind of hard to argue with that now wasn't it? It was true that SEvilin often started things himself and that made for an interesting reaction from Piper. THey both rubbed each other the wrong way, same wiht her adn MAlik and she hated it when Piper blamed her for it which essentially Zahara was doing. "Alright, you're right. I won't say anything abot it anymore but he shouldn't have grabbed you like that, especially the way you bruise." Zahara reached for her wrist to see the damage that had been done and as seh did so said, "If you can get it off you're more than welcome to do so. There's no way I'm going to stop you. It would actually give me some peace of mind to know that he could no longer yank me around when he got upset with me, you know?"

Though Zahara wanted to inspect, Piper merely clasped her hands to prevent it, for the sake of play acting to Malik but also to hide the runic circle scratched in there. Seemed Zahara had acquired a mindful awareness that she did bruise all too easily. Except these ones were actually going to her and make her upset for a bit until they cleared up. Damnable pale skin. Well finally she was starting to get somewhere, even if it was just a little amount of movement. To Piper it was still imortant that Zahara understood that Malik wasn't hurting her, espcially in the sense of rape being the main thing, and that he wasn't controlling her either. "Alright then, hold still." Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out that jar and dipped a finger in, pressing it to Zahara's forehead, first drawing the commonplace runic circle...and then that passion rune, also accompanied by a timer like rune. Oh the things she did to get her point across. Letting it activate, she waited till it died down and wiped the gel off of Zahara's forehead with her sleeve. "There you are, no more worries." How many lies was that? She should loose half of her other ear for that...and in thinking like that one hand did indeed come up to play with her halved ear.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:17 pm

Zahara was a bit taken aback when Piper clasped her hands and refused to let her see the damage Sevilin had inflicted, but then it would probably only upset her and Piper, for some reason or another didn't like to upset her. She wasn't going to question it though, merely let her hide her wrist from her. Then it dawned on her that Malik was int he room and she probably didn't want him knowing that Sevilin had bruised her as badly as he most likely did. But she stayed still and allowed Piper to go ahead and erase the rune on her head thankful that she could do it. It upset her that Sevilin had his own 'leash' that he could easily use on her. She felt the familiarity of the activation and waited until the runing substance was wiped off. It was different from hers but Zahara merely rested her hands on Piper's shoulder for a moment and smiled, "it's wonderful to have such a good friend who's willing to look out for me the way you do piper. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."And she released her friend, still ignoring Malik and walked away.

"I see."

Then a glance at Zahara as Piper scribed a pasion rune on her forehead. what a lovely display of genuine trickery. She was getting more and more accustomed to the Underdark way of life. Good...and bad. he didn't really want to completely lose the honest, and unselfish Piper. he'd have to pull back his schemeing as not to drive that out of her.

"Well...since he'd gone, no serious harm done to break his hand for..I'll let you women do what it is you women do together. I have someone to talk to about a certain thing."

Of course, he went back downstairs. that ment one of three things. Broog, his Necromancers, or someone in a Breaker room. As it turns out, it was option three. the human was hanging in the middle of the room..but no Breaker this time. not for this special guest. one cleric in teh room, with a pail..though wether it was for cleaning or perhaps to let the cleric have something to deposit his lunch in was another matter.

Malik's boots squelched on teh floor, coated in shiny red blood, and was very casually reguarding the figure hanging before him. the two halfelves in teh room watched with a viscious, sadistic look. they were specially selected for this type of task. slaves from cruel human families, he nurtured thier hatred until they becomes sadistic torturers of humans. like this man.

his arms were chained at the wrist to a hanging metal pole, so he hung in a crucifix style. they had even given him a crown of barbed wire..but since one was wearing a leash on his hand, it was probably more than that. his body was covered from head to toe in gaping lash marks, courtesy of both of them have the the modified, clawed tip cat'o'nine tails.

also sever bruising from one having an eletrified metal rod. on a desk were other tools. curved daggers with serrations, pickaxes, small hammers, something that looked like an icecream scoop with a razor in it...all covered in blood.

Of course the cleric was there to make sure he lived through everything. and after every session, one of his enchanters was instructed to go and erase his memory...so there was no adapting or getting used to sever pain for him. Probably another reason for his suffering was the fact Malik had not located or gotten his hands on the one these men reffered to as 'Right Hand'.

"Now, if you would..tell me about this 'Right Hand' and how I might find him. as well as the process you used to artifically grow people...and how it might be worked to impregnate someone."
