I'm still here ninja I don't think I'll make such a good guild leader though.

I'll have a character in the next couple of days. I'm slowly settling on a hunter type character and I'm some where between Argonian and Wood Elf.

I'd also like to make a Hunters' guild if that is cool. I don't know what I'd want to do with it yet - most likely something involving large and unusual game, with rewards being coats of fur or something of the like.

Go for it.

It actually sounds like a pretty cool Idea.

Fill out a guild profile skeleton in full so we can get the official part out of the way, and I'll approve it ASAP.

@Autumn- you can take as long as you need. If you have any questions, ask around the guild, or take the direct approach- ask moi! :p

@Insanity- if you don't think you'd make a good leader, then I won't ask you. :3 However, if you know anybody who can lead and likes Oblivion, send them this way. :3

As to the RPs, when Gravefinder's Repose is finished, the 3 participating members will analyze the quest to see how we can make taking on missions more fun and effective.

In the meantime, I will write up a draft for a quest that the members can participate in.

Name: Hunter's Guild
Motto: "The Sacred Hunt."
Type of Faction: An association of game hunters.
Rank & Hierarchy:
Emblem:
Uniforms/Colors: The uniform of a Hunter varies, as they are expected to blend into their surroundings. During lodge meetings, it is tradition to wear the fur or some other aspect from your favorite kill. Wearing inappropriate coverings during a hunt is frowned upon (see heavy armor).
Territory: The Hunters claim no one town or city as their base of operations. There are lodges in Bruma, Kvotch and Bravil.
Alignment: Chaotic neutral.
Rules: 1. Don't take more from nature than governed by necessity. (In other words, don't over hunt and destroy a population of creatures.)
2. Only give attention to worthy adversary. (There is no pride gained for a mighty hunter that kills rabbits, though he may kill for nourishment.)
3. Moderation in force. (Magic and enchanted weapons are mostly frowned upon. The exception is against great magic beasts.)
4. Respect for nature. (Don't ruin what came before you, find ways to give back.)
Origins:

---------

There's what I have so far. I'm going to do some revising when I get back tonight. Input is good. I'm kind of going for that tribal hunter gatherer respect for nature kind of thing.

Also, think I settled on an Argonian, so I'll likely have a character tonight.

Very nice.

When it's finished, PM it to me and I'll add it to the Factions Roster.

Remember- make it with several rankings like the other factions. That way, we can more easily determine a player's skills and merit within the guild/clan/faction.

Hey guys, I won't be taking up the title of guild captain again, as I don't think I'll ever be in a position to be able to dedicate the amount of time that a guild captain needs to put into his/her guild.

I will however remain a Vice Captain and hopefully, with Joker's brilliant council idea (no sarcasm in that, I really do love it) hopefully the great amount of potential this guild has will grow into prosperity and the status for it that I had envisioned when I had started building it will be recognized under the better leadership of Joker and a council of Vice Captains. As I said earlier, I will remain a Vice Captain and do everything I can to help Joker and the other Vice Captains bring Scars of Oblivion to what I had always hoped it would become.

That being said, I think I'll end my rambling by saying that if it wasn't for Joker, Insanity, Imperator, and all the other crew members who stuck through it all when the guild started, this guild would be a mere shadow of what it is now.

Sorry about all the rambling.

Lastly, I think all of you deserve an answer as to why I broke down and dropped the guild (thank you Joker for picking it up for me). What had happened was that I apparently have Clinical Depression and I didn't know about it until a few days after I really dropped the ball here. I'm on anti-depressants now and feeling much better, in case you were wondering.

Just thought I owed all of you an explanation.

OH and if you actually read through all of this, thank you. I know I talk too much. :]

What do you guys think of this as an idea for a new banner? I don't have photoshop so I can only make banners with sites that put their annoying ad in the bottom corner. But overall I really like this one.

I'd like to have the rest of the guild's opinion on this one first though before I go and post it in the banner section.

I wasn't sure about the edge detect. Which do you guys like more? I personally favor the first but I wasn't sure how others would respond to the edge detect effect.

I had another idea for banners, to use close ups as if to portray different characters and then have the guild name and slogan right next to them.

I'd like to know what you guys think before I go out of my way to make banners for each of them.

Not a close up, but still a character.

Closeup 1
Closeup 2
Closeup 3

All of these, including the banner I had posted in the post above this one, where drawn by TheMinttu on deviant art.

Both are equally appealing (I like the aged appeal of the first and the stylized look and feel of the second) but is there any way to make them less tall and more wide?

That was the best banner frame that the website I use offered. Everything wider than that was at best half the height of the picture. There's actually more to it I just had to crop it. The man on the hill is holding the reins that are attached to a unicorn that's head is just poking into the picture. Of course I had to crop that out though to get the Imperial City in the banner.
Check the bottom left hand corner for the link to the banner making site.

I don't think I'd be up for a sole leader of the guild position, however, the whole chairmen idea sounds a whole lot more doable.

I've been toying with the idea of making a sort of journal thread for each person for our characters. A place they can go is in the chatterbox forum here since we already have quite a few subforums up already. In the next couple days I'll try to craft one up to show what it would look like and see if it's an idea people would like to use.

Also, I noticed that the first quest in West Weald is gone. Has it been deleted? If so, I'm fine with it, but for the sake of wrapping things up, what happened to all the characters?

Dwagons.

Almost done with the Guild thing. I hit a snag on the origin because I have a few different things I can do with it and they're all really appealing.

I don't want to come across as a b***h...

but dude. You were irresponsible and literally threw the guild to misthral and I announcing us as the new owners without even asking if we wanted it. You never responded to my last pm. You come back here acting like nothing ever happend, like you never abandoned the guild, didn't act like an a**, and you somehow think you have the right to come back in here and criticize the work of the people you left in charge. The people who have kept the guild alive in your absence, who decided not to drop the ball and just dissapear like you did, who actually decided to give a damn and try to make the guild work and better it while you just jumped ship. (Even though of the three people doing so two of them just joined!) You pretend to be all noble in your departing words of "oh i'm handing the guild over to those who can run it better b/c I care too much about it" when really your act was simply one of immaturity.

You even come in here and don't apologize, rather you justify your actions. The only thing you apologize for is your rambling. You come in here with this rah rah speech that your probably thought was great, but all I see is a guy who suddenly returns, has the audacity to criticize those who are trying to make the guild better, and doesn't even have the manhood to explain to everyone else what really happend or to apologize for his mistakes.

I realize this may come across as harsh and perhaps even bitchy but it's something that needed to be said.

Now that I got that off my chest I'm done.
